I have been bringing the family vehicles to Vinny and his team at McGregor's for years now. I have a vehicle with 150,000 miles on it and they help me keep it going. They are very good at what they do and do a great job at explaining options of what is needed to be done at that time. I have and would recommend McGregor's to anyone I know. After going to several different mechanics in the area to service my daughter s Infiniti, I finally got referred to Mcgregor s Auto. They were the only shop that was able to diagnose and fix the problem with her Infiniti. Both Vinny and Larry were super nice to deal with and very patient listeners as I told them the history of this car and our total frustration with dealing with other repair shops and pricing was beyond fair for the work they did. My daughter will now take her car to Mcgregors for all repairs.

My name is Douglas I'm retired military personnel from a Gold Star family I say that to let you know the seriousness of this review My truck was at Leah Kia Dodge Chrysler for almost 3 weeks they promised me and promised me and promised me they would fix it they could not they weren't capable I had my truck towed down to McGregor Auto non-functioning from the dealership The owner of McGregor looked at my vehicle got back to me in a couple hours with a quote and within 48 hours back in my vehicle driving it Yes the cost was substantial but it was still way better financially and the cost much more palatable than it would have been at the dealership The main crux of this review is that The people at McGregor are serious they're all about taking care of their customers and I felt as though I really was in good hands with mature mechanics and mature adults when I dealt with these people at McGregor unlike the poor service I received at the dealership Leah Kia Dodge on Central avenue I would recommend McGregor's for any of your auto services they are serious business understanding of your time individuals My name is Douglas and I own a 2016 Dodge ram

I have been having Vinnie and his team work on my vehicles for nearly 15 years. He and his team have performed above and beyond all expectations of an auto repair shop. The work is perfect. The price is fair. More than anything else, they do what is necessary and do not try to sell you on repairs that are unnecessary. I have been bringing my vehicles to them for almost 20 years and have no plans on stopping. They are honest, reliable and do quality work for a fair price. It is unfortunately rare to find a shop that won't try to upsell or perform work that isn't needed, but McGregor is definitely one of the good ones.

Vinnie took great care of my car. He made sure to order a used driver side mirror to replace which saved me a lot of money. He was genuine and pleasant to interact with! He does great work, I highly recommend McGregor Auto Service.

I have used McGregor Auto for about 10 years now. Vinnie, the owner and his team are very friendly, they perform quality work and do it in a timely manner. They are always accommodating, regardless of the scope of work needed. I try to make appointments for routine maintenance, but every now and then something comes up where I need a repair done fast, they get me in quick and have never let me down. It's really hard to find a mechanic you can trust. Each time I bring my car to McGregor's I am so refreshed by their efficiency, honesty, and professionalism. I've been bringing my car here for about a year now between brake jobs, EVAP leaks, and wheel bearing issues. They will never fix something that doesn't need fixing. Their diagnostics and thoroughness are always right on. They get the job done and always do such a great job with repairs, no matter what it is. Will be bringing my car here always! Thank you guys for such great service!

Reliable and trustworthy. It's hard to find a good mechanic not to mention one that you can trust. I've been bringing my cars to McGregor A.S. for 2 years and will continue to do so!The mechanics are very nice, happy to explain what's going on, and are efficient with their time when doing repairs. I ve been taking my vehicles to Mcgregor Auto for over 10 years now, and would never go anywhere else. These guys were awesome! Vinny, was really nice and took the time to explain to me what was actually wrong with my car. After my absolutely horrific experience I had at Midas, I was a little nervous to go to the mechanic again, but these guys were nothing short of amazing! It was in early July and they had so many cars to look at and they had mine done the next day and they found the actual source of the problem and fixed it. I would definitely recommend coming here!Service: Air conditioning

Every time I've brought my vehicle to McGregor I've felt 100% sure that I was getting the best service for the best price. They are always friendly, helpful and always explain anything they've done(or suggest doing). As a female, I go here confidently and not worrying they're going to take advantage because they think I don't know anything about cars (like other shops I've patronized).

I cannot say enough great things about McGregor's Auto Service! My car was finished an hour before promised, the work was quality, and the price was beyond fair. The owner Vinnie was beyond accommodating from the scheduling to the job's completion and he even checked in afterwards to make sure I was happy. Have been using McGregor for a number of years now, would go nowhere else.Wanted to update and expand my review of MacGregor. Finding that rare auto mechanic that you can trust can be challenging, but, I lucked out when a neighbor recommended McGregor Auto Service to me; seven years, two vehicles, three moves, and a number of repairs later, I haven't looked back. They are knowledgeable professionals, I trust and have confidence that they will not try to pad the bill or cheat me. I've been going to macgregor auto for 11 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Trustworthy, friendly and professional they offer fast turnaround time and excellent work. The guys at McGregor are always professional and friendly and do what they say. Anytime something beyond is required they call, explain it and give me a price which is always fair. Vinny was amazing! I called to make the appointment for him to check out my car, I thought it was the blower motor going (per another repair chain), and he took great care of my car and for WAY cheaper than the other repair places do. He tried to diagnose my problem over the phone and then checked and double checked the issue until he solved the problem. They are expert technicians, and I am always impressed by their attention to detail. I took a 2006 Camry to Vinnie at MacGregor believing that the engine was going to need to be replaced based on a quick assessment from a friend. I had heard positive comments about the garage and this was my first time at MacGregor. Check-in was very easy and quick. After Vinnie looked it over he gave me the great news that it would only need a new water pump. Vinnie was such a pleasure to work with that I asked him to include a number of other repairs that had been delayed until we came through the engine work. He kept me updated on the work and delivered as promised. The car came back in like new condition and I could not be happier with the work. MacGregor is an outstanding shop with true professionals that provide the highest quality service. I first started going to Vinnie while working in Schenectady from 2016 to 2020. I am now working in Albany again, but still willing to take the drive to have my 3 vehicles serviced there. Mcgregor's takes the time to properly diagnose and explain the problem your vehicle is having. Their experience, professionalism, and fast turnaround is second to none! In this day-in-age, the either extremely large or small size Auto Service shops survive. The efficient size of the building to the volume of vehicles serviced at Mcgregor is perfect for your repair needs and I highly recommend checking them out. Their prices are very reasonable and their level of service is unmatched. They went above and beyond to make sure that my car was safe, and squeezed me in to get it done before I went on vacation. They explained to me exactly what they did and what it needed as well as what they recommend I should do in the future. They have definitely gained a customer for life!

Their mechanic calls in everyday, because of his alcohol and drug dependence what I have been told by a worker there. They are way to overpriced. They repaired my brakes, put them on incorrectly and somehow past them throw inspection. The mechanic that I had purchased the car from sends all his cars to get inspected by them. A partnership. The dealership owner Mcgregor Auto service located on Eiirie Blvd downtown Schenectady by Stewart's. The car dealer who is also family ask them how did that get past your eyes and still past inspection. Nasty customer service, and overpriced repairs. Would not recommend to anyone. Very low averaged mechanics. Drop your car off there and a 1 hour job gets pushed back to days. This place is beyond horrible. A whole in a wall. Very unreliable and very very expensive place. Everything job is very costly. They let me drive off their lot with a reset engine light which they lied and said they fixed. Not very honest. Rip off report.I left with a engine light off and a few miles later it returned. These guys are crooks. I am just a honest customer ripped off by your. So you are angry, because I got caught up in your fraudulent activities, and got no apology. Rip off Report.Try not to make excuses and treat you customers with honesty. I'm just an advocate for the working man and fight for fairness. I wonder why you didn't mention how can we resolve this. Listen to your message. Customer comes first. Blame your shady businesses.

Dropped my car off for a diagnostic test...just needed to know what was wrong with it...eventually got a $1500 estimate, once I told him I wouldn t need his services he claims to have changed my oil which I would have to pay $88 for. I ve been dealing with cars on my own for a while I have never had a mechanic perform a service on my car that I did not request or approve. Once I picked my car up and had a second opinion the codes I was given were completely different and was informed my oil was never changed. SMH How deplorable to take advantage of people trying to survive a pandemic!
