We recently found ourselves in Upstate NY and stayed one night at the Marina Inn. We loved everything about our stay...the historic building and setting, the super clean and comfortable room, and the cute town of Sackets Harbor. They have done a wonderful job with the restoration of this building and if you love early American history you will love the area! The staff was also excellent with their communication and reached out to us to make sure we had access. We actually arrived into town after dark, but they emailed directions for picking up the key and it was very easy to get into the room. Props to the staff for going above & beyond.

Stayed here 6/23-6/25/17. This place is beautiful, it looks brand new! So clean and bright. So quiet, such great views and we'll worth the $135 for the suite. For being the only place in Sackets to stay the price is great. It feels like home. With the desk attendants there only part time it feels like your own. They are great by the way. Did I mention the views? I'll post some pics.

Small Inn no elevator but nice and quiet. Nice location near the water and about a mile walk down to the restaurants. Clean large rooms and a friendly staff. A number of old buildings nearby and easy to walk around the area.

I had a reservation for Sept. 12th, had my room booked, no problems. I utilize a medical alert & response service dog. Per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA law), hotels cannot deny service animals access. Nor do I have to notify I m traveling with one since it changes nothing. Out of courtesy, I called to notify them I would be traveling with a service dog. The lady at the front desk told me The manager said no service dogs allowed, and referred me to calling the manager myself. They also said I would need to provide my paperwork for my service dog, and in the United States there is no such paperwork, and it is illegal for them for ask for paperwork. So I gave the manager (her name is Marina) a call. I asked Marina if she could explain her service dog policy to me, and she said she knew ADA law and said that service dogs were allowed, but that the room we (they) usually use for service dogs is all booked out. Mind you, the ADA law states, and I quote, Can hotels assign designated rooms for guests with service animals, out of consideration for other guests? No. A guest with a disability who uses a service animal must be provided the same opportunity to reserve any available room at the hotel as other guests without disabilities. And I told Marina that verbatim, and she said in a very rude tone I understand that... Okay Marina, if you understand that, then why would you even say there was a special room? Anyways, her excuse for not allowing my service animal is because she said they were booked a week out for reservations, and there wouldn t be enough time between my reservation and the next to properly clean all the dog dander for the next people (even though check-out time is 11am and check-in time is 3pm). I cannot prove or disprove if this is a fallacy, but her attitude during the entire conversation was standoffish. Long story short, she denied my service dog access to the hotel and seemed uneducated about service dog laws. I took my business elsewhere. I do not advise this place for service dog users...

Unique experience in a historical site. Hotel upgraded us to a suite for no extra charge. Our only observation: some of the furniture was stained, but the room was immaculate. I would recommend it and visit again.

The scenic location of this basic property is it's attraction. Clean and comfortable rooms, some with full kitchens, make this property, located on an historic 1812 battlefield situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, an enjoyable place to stay.

Just returned home from a nice quiet visit to Sackets Harbor. Since the rest of our family had rented a small house right on lake Ontario we used Marina Inn as a place to stay close to them. We were in room 302 and it was just perfect for the wife and I. Full kitchen with pots, glasses, pans, microwave, refrigerator and anything else you could need. The view of the Harbor was excellent. Some people have mentioned the lack of "other people" and this it true. During our stay in late August we saw nearly no one else ... heard a few people but saw not one other soul in that hotel the entire stay, not even a front desk worker as they left the building after checking us in. We did see the cleaning lady a couple times. In closing, if you enjoy being totally left alone, this is your place! Thanks Marina .... our check in lady!

We stayed during the off season and while there was construction on the building next door you couldn't hear it inside. There are nice views of the lake right out the windows, and while the shower tub was tiny, the bathroom was modern and classy. The suite's kitchenette was handy, and equally modern, if a bit cramped in the long hallway of one of our suites. The air conditioning was LOUD and never got cold, just cool. It ran all night and I was warm trying to sleep. The rooms all use physical metal keys, on a keyring with a rfid tag for the exterior door, which was somewhat dirty and probably not cleaned between guests. The room doors cannot be locked from the inside, which was especially weird because the doors are poorly sealed and thin and we were next to the reception desk so we could hear the hallway and I'm sure the hallway could hear us when we stopped the AC.

This is a great little spot. The views are spectacular, not too far from Watertown or Sacketts Harbor. They were expedient with service and were geniuenly pleasant. Their from desk isn't manned 24/7 so you need to check their hours to ensure you go to them when someone is working the desk. I can't say enough about the views! So pretty! What a great sunset!

I lived in the apts in the early 90s when all that was still being built. The reason for this review is to tell folks all these buildings are haunted so jf you like ghost this is the place.for you. The.original fort was built by revolutionary war veterans. There was a grwat battle fought there in the war of 1812. When i lived there people were freeking out cause of the paranormal. I find it a great add on to your stay. You wont find a better vacation spot in the country if relaxing is what u want. Oh and tey it in January there is nothing like a good winter storm to make it romantic. Dont be scared of the ghosts they dont bite but they are there trust me.

Even with single digit temps, Sackets Harbor and Madison Barracks are always delightful! Visiting our Ft Drum soldier and new wife who live here too. Marina, manager, is always responsive and professional.

This isn't located properly on google maps. The Marina Inn is across the parade ground (the area in front of this house). This house is privately owned by me!
