My previous auto service center in Long Island City has been closed for a few years so I starting seeing the dealer for service. After bringing my car in for an annual inspection, I was told that I needed my breaks repaired, new rear hub bearings, and a CVT fluid flush. I was quoted nearly $3000 for this work. At which, point, I decided to seek other estimates or potentially purchase a new car. I went online and looked at google reviews for auto care service centers, and Ultimate came highly recommended. I don't usually trust reviews, but I decided to give the place a shot. I made an appointment, and was asked to leave car. A few hours later, I received a call from Mike confirming that I needed the work but he gave me a price which was less than one-third what the dealer was charging. When I came in the next day, the car was ready at the appointed time, and the car ran beautifully. Thank you all who recommended this place.Service: Brakes

I've been going to Michael for years. He's the only mechanic that I trust.He's been very straightforward with issues, costs and what is needed to be repaired and what does not.Highly recommended and will always be taking any of my cars to him.Update: still my go-to mechanic! Very honest in the work need and the cost.

Went there for the annual inspection of my car. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. I was charged a fair price and I believe the one who attended me was the owner, whom I perceived to be genuine in is attempt to offer value to his customer. Will recommend and return.

Ive been going to this place for 10 years now. The mechanics are AMAZING, they let me watch and even showed me how to do certain things myself. Mike (owner) took care of me when I have had financial issues in the past, lowering labor costs significantly. Currently, I am MORE THAN happy to pay full price, and it's still more reasonably priced than MOST. I rarely leave reviews, but when I saw the "1" star claiming that they only have synthetic oil for a larger commission, I had to leave this comment, because this place prioritizes quality over ALL.

This is the best auto repair shop in Astoria and Long Island city. Dont judge its ability and quality by appearance. Mike, the owner and chief mechanic, is excellent, honest and a true gentleman!Mike is amazing. He fixes the car and only replaces parts when it is really necessary, no hidden cost!Updated: Been with the shop for 3 months now and completely happy, honest, reliable service and very affordable pricing with even free minor repair. But the shop is very crowded so the turnaround time would be longer than expected.

This was my first time visiting a shop in the Astoria area and I am so grateful I picked Ultimate Auto Care. I was in a bind and Mike proved to be efficient, experienced, and generous. So long as I live within driving distance, he's got a customer here. Definitely recommended and I don't rate places often.

The reviews match my experience with Mike and Ultimate Auto Care. Super stand up guy.I took my Honda Accord EX in as it was conking out at stop lights and wouldn't run. Now understand, I had gotten diagnoses($$$$) from other shops(Paragon Honda) who wanted to replace my transmission $$$$. Mike took a look, simply cleaned out the throttle body and the car has performed ever since. He didn't charge me for the diagnosis or the cleaning. He's the guy I want servicing my vehicle.

I have been taking my moms vehicles to Mike for decades. There is no sweeter person than him. He is very hands on, up-front and reasonable. I would recommend ANYONE to him

My engine light was blinking so I took my car in- it ended up being a very minor thing and they fixed it and refused to charge me for it. They could have told me anything and I would not have known. I even offered to pay out of my wallet and they refused. They now have a loyal customer for life.

The one and only mechanic I can truly trust to diagnose and repair my cars. I've been going to Ultimate Auto Care since 1994. I've lived in Queens, New Jersey and now out in Long Island and during that time I've always taken my car to them. It's gotten to a point now that I just pull in, tell Mike what's wrong with my car, hand him my keys, tell him to do whatever he needs to do and give me a call when I should pick up my car. After all this time, he will still walk me through and show what he did to the car, show me the bad parts he replaced. If you need a mechanic, if you have doubts about your mechanic, take your car right over to Ultimate Auto Care and you'll thank me for it!

Great mechanics honest trustworthy they go straight to the point no bull and you pay the right price, Mike the owner is real business man polite assertive, next time take your car to his shop give it a try you won't regret it.

I would strongly recommend Ultimate Auto Care. I thought that my window needed a new part, since it was struggling to go up. Mike decided that, perhaps, it just need some silicone, which appeared to do the trick. He did not charge me and was very friendly and prompt.
