Michael and the crew at Formula Motorsports are incredible. When you talk to them you know you re going to get a straightforward, honest answer from a shop that knows Porsches better than anyone I ve met. It s just a bonus that the shop is basically a museum!1. My 86 911 cab had sustained damage. I brought it to Michael to assess the damage and determine the correct course of action. Over several days Michael and I talked frequently and determined what steps needed to be taken. Michael advised me on what he thought was best but there was never any pressure, and the decision was ultimately left up to me.2. I take my 2018 Macan S here for service. They turn the work around more quickly and at a lower cost than the dealership offers.

I brought my 911 in for an engine rebuild and things could not have gone smoother. Pricing was transparent, communication was great, and the final product as described. Given all the variables with the air cooled engines, especially the 77, I was pleasantly surprised to see a quick turnaround and no additional issues. Additionally I had them refresh my gearbox and shifter assembly. Great experience!

Formula Motorsports has been servicing my 991 911CS Cabriolet since 2014 for all the Porsche recommended service intervals and has included tire installations, OEM rim replacement, spark plugs & tune, air filters, oil changes, air bag sensor troubleshoot and most recently full brake pads and rotors at 39K. Typically, I deal with Michael who is extremely knowledgeable, honest, and who provides a reliable estimate up front for service costs. Their shop, minutes outside of Manhattan, provides only Porsche services and have been part of the Porsche community since the sixties, possibly prior. The shop which is impeccably clean, meticulously arranged, and has some of the rarest Porsches depending on the service list for the week. The pick up and drop off arrangements have always been seamless where you can schedule an appointment to drop off the car in the early morning and it's ready by the end of the day for pick up. My most recent trip included a special treat where I was able to meet the founder Mark who has a true lifetime passion for Porsche. I could have sat there for hours with him as we discussed his Porsche racing history at the most respected tracks worldwide, racing prototypes, favorite tracks, tires, driver experience, etc. I can go on forever, but I was particularly fascinated with his history and knowledge of the Bridgehampton Raceway on Long Island along with the fun fact that he had to avoid deer when racing. Will be a loyal customer for as long as they keep the doors open.

Michael was super easy to work with and he was full of great advice for me as a new GT3 owner. If you have a P-car in the tristate area this is definitely the place to go.

Michael took the time out of his busy schedule and never rushed me. I asked many questions about Porsche 911s and he gave me such good info. I wanted to hire Formula Motorsports to perform a PPI. Michael warned me about dealers that ad cars already sold and sure enough it happened twice same dealer! I don t live in the area but will consider driving to Formula Motorsports for service when I buy my dream car. They have earned my trust.

The absolute best Porsche service and advice. Michael and his team are first-class. Their level of professionalism, expertise and integrity is unmatched. They also run just a really friendly and inviting shop. You couldn't ask for more. Formula Motorsports serves as the technical advisor to the Metro NY Porsche club. Michael really helped get me started with Porsche Club events. His help and advice has been just phenomenal.

Built a very quick relationship with formula motorsports and Michael personally. I am writing this review for him based on the stellar service I received there. I own a 2014 Cayenne Turbo and brought my car in for it's first service and bodywork. All the staff were professional, helpful, and gave me constant email updates with pictures over the 4 days the whole repair took. After spending some time there during the day just checking out the cars I happened to see a quite terrible set of circumstances arise with another client due to no cause of the shop. I was more than happy to leave a review after this person tried to tarnish their name. Michael and his team went above and beyond to assist a disrespectful client who was very upset he needed to wait for service without an appointment. I made mine 1 week in advance as one would expect in New York City. Fortunately he kept his cool and went by the book on client relations. They are all professionals and happen to do great work. Michael gave me all of the service prices up front and bill was accurate. People need to understand that good service is hard to come by. Formula gives great quality service from what I saw first hand and would be happy to recommend them to friend of mine.

If you have a Porsche and live in the trip-state area, this is the place. Michael and his team are exceptionally professional and with 40 plus year experience, they provide the best service for your beloved Porsche. Michael is always available and offers up great information about your vehicle. I have been there for my initial service and always happy to come back for interval services. I will be coming back to Formula Motorsports for all my 911 needs.

I called asking about a Pre purchase inspection on a 996 porsche 911. Micheal took time to chat with me and gave me tons of info on what I should be looking for in buying. I have never brought a car here, he didnt know me from anyone and still took time out of his day to provide me with great information and advice. I buy alot of cars and have never had someone be so open and knowledgeable and generous with their time. If I lived in the area I would 100% take my car here. Thanks for the help!

These guys know Porsche 911s better than dealerships. Recommendations are based upon common sense rather than pushing for things you might not need. The only place I take my Millennium edition neunelfer.

Mike, the owner of Formula Motorsports is great. He is very helpful and takes the time to explain what has to be done to the car and why it is needed. Treats all customers fairly whether they have an old Porsche Boxter or a new GT car. Because of this excellent customer service you never leave his shop feeling that you have been ripped off or taken advantage of. Have never felt like I'm paying a Porsche "Tax" like other mechanics I have dealt with in the past.

Formula has been a go to Porsche shop for me since I got my GT2. Friends that have used them for years swear by them as do I. Yes, they get extremely busy in the spring and summer but that s to be expected. I call a couple weeks in advance and usually don t have to wait more than a week for an appointment. They are not only accommodating but brutally transparent. The cars are amazing that they service and the facility itself is immaculate. They don t do personalities though, not by a long shot. It s straight forward and no nonsense. I don t mind though as my time is limited and viable so I can appreciate the directness of the repairs and emails. Anyone with a higher end Porsche that I know in NYC uses them and have been nothing but happy. As with many of their customers I m a lifer.

Likely the most honest experience I've had with an auto shop. I called to check on potential repair costs for a used Porsche I was considering buying. Michael spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, explaining the potential issues with the year/model I was looking at and provided advice to change the direction of my search (despite the fact that it would result in less work for the shop right away). I look forward to using Formula Motorsports for my pre-purchase inspection and future service needs.

A true old fashioned family owned shop that is passionate about what they do and cares about doing it right. I consider myself lucky to be one of their customers and never feel like they are trying to up-sell me. If you want it done right, this is the place.

I won an auction for my dream car, a 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo, on Ebay. I researched all Porsche mechanics nearby and found Formula Motorsports. I called them Saturday at noon expecting to get a voicemail, but instead was connected with Michael, the owner. Michael conducted a thorough prepurchase inspection, reviewed all concerns for the car, recommended a shipping company, and even let me store the car in his indoor shop until the delivery truck arrived a few days later. In short, Formula Motorsports helped make my dream come true and I trust them completely. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, including my closest family and friends. Check them out.

I was so pleased with the skill and professionalism I encountered at this shop. Nicky and his team assessed the damage on my car, contacted my insurance company, helped me get a rental but most importantly, quickly and skillfully repaired my 2011 Lexus to like new condition. I immediately felt my car and I were in good hands when I pulled into this shop. Nicky went above and beyond to work with my schedule and returned my perfect car to my location.Excellent communication. Excellent repair work and excellent customer service.

The owners of this company are honest and reliable professionals who put client's interests ahead of their own. Fantastic experience with Michael and the team at Formula Motorsports. I can't say enough about the satisfaction and peace of mind I gained knowing they were taking care of my car. To put it plainly, I live about two hours from this facility and it is worth the commute even in rush hour on a holiday weekend. Thanks again.

Incredible service. I took my 911 991.1 in to Formula Motorsports to upgrade my steering wheel to the 991.2 model with paddle shifters. What can I say, I HATED those button shifters. The entire experience has blown me away.From the very beginning Michael was extreme responsive to my inquiry. He looked at the adapter I had found from China and agreed to go down the rabbit hole with me. And what a rabbit hole. This was an extremely difficult install, with faulty parts and unclear instructions. Yet Michael persevered. I'm sure this project was a money loser for them, but Michael went out of his way to make sure everything works perfectly. He even installed my phone mount for free. Great service, and he has definitely created a repeat customer.

This is all my opinion of the experience. You can determine if it's he said or she said event, but it was my honest experience. I will never go back.First, my car was installed with after market parts (later discovered by an official Porsche dealership). I specifically said all genuine Porsche parts.Second, Michael will talk and make you think he knows his cars, but the installation was not done right.Third, the "fix" has affected other parts that caused the car to have an engine light turned on. Which later was discovered by the Porsche dealership service that the installation damaged another part. FM offered to take a look with additional cost which should have been properly install ed and checked the car before it was ready for pick up.Conclusion. If you don't know your car, don't bring it there. If you know your car, he will talk you thinking he knows or worked on your car but his video tells you that he doesn't even touch your car, which he claims he was the person working on it.Go at your own risk. If you got a Porsche dealership, at least you get an official record on the Porsche system. This shop, you get an engine light on and required more money to repair your car than having it fixed.

Thank you Mike for helping me customize my 2017 911.Mike was easy to work with and very informative and patient. I don't know much about fast cars but Mike made it easy and now I drive fast! My car sound great with my Tubi exhaust and is much faster with a remapped ECU. Great upgrades and professionally done.Thanks for everything, much appreciated.

Great Experience. Michael introduce me to the world of Porsches previous to my 911 purchase and now i have a pice of mind that if anything goes wrong i will have Formula Motorsport resolve the issue. They are great value to the Porsche community in NY and the Tri-State area

I was referred to Formula Motorsports through the NY chapter of the Porsche Club of America.Formula has been in the business since 60s .Needless to say thorough and know their stuff. It s a family run shop, and the rates are reasonable.Very happy to have a local shop that can service my car, and avoid a trip to the dealer. Thx Mike

Exceeded all expectations. True Porsche experts and enthusiasts. Conducted a pre-purchase inspection on a 2014 911 4S w/ a Powerkit for me as well as performed the 4 year required service. Father and son duo (Mark and Michael) that represent the best example of what every automotive shop should strive to become. Beyond knowledgable, honest and amazing through every interaction. And stepping in their shop was a real treat.

This shop is amazing and immaculate. Michael was tremendous to work with and very transparent about what was being done to my car and why. He was incredibly knowledgeable and considerate, keeping me apprised of every step in the process. This is the only shop I will bring my Macan to from now on!

Michael is the best! Having his cell and being able to call when I have a problem with my 911 is a godsend. If you have a Porsche 911 in NYC, this is your place!
