I ve hear they do good work but haven t had an easy experience getting into an appointment. Wanted to get wheels painted professionally and called to ask about the process. I was asked to come in the next day at noon to meet with their painter to give me my estimate. After showing up at the time that they specifically told me I should come in, the painter wasn t available and was on lunch. They then took pictures of my car and was going to send them to the painter, which I feel as though I could have just as easily done myself. I was then told they would have an estimate ready for me at the end of the day or the next morning at the latest. I called three days later trying to follow up as I never heard from them and couldn t get through to anyone on the phone. It s been over a week and I still haven t heard back from them.

I recently had to bring my vehicle to Davison Ford for some collision work. I want to thank the manager from Watertown and Clay New York.(Kalee). She made the process move smooth and fast. The staff starting from the receptionist to the collision team were excellent.

Got my trucks bed sprayed. Job looked clean and well done. I was able to pick up same day too.They also buffed out sap that was stuck to my door without asking and free of charge. Huge thanks to Joe!Service: Body & TrimService: Body & Trim

Terrible experience. Had my truck a month. Did estimate taking pictures to send to insurance instead of doing a proper estimate by a technician ( as another shop did but couldn't fix my truck till January). Never had parts when I waited 2 months to have work done. Ordered them after I dropped of for repairs. Very rude when I called to check status and never once called to update me when they said they would. After a month I told them look truck over an make sure it's done properly as I don't have time to come back. When I came to get truck paint had orange peel and wasn't buffed out properly. Also rear bumper damage wasn't fixed said insurance turned it down and I was never notified of this. Still isn't buffed properly as I had to leave for work.Service: Painting

Overall a good experience having my car repaired after being rear-ended by a distracted driver. From the initial estimate, through repairs they were professional, courteous and coordinated seamlessly with my insurance company as well as the rental company. The job was done well, and my car returned to me as good as new. I only dropped a star bc I would've liked more proactive communication. While they were very responsive, I had to reach out for updates on the status, when the rental company was contacting me.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

TOO MUCH LONGER THAN PROMISED AND NOT INFORMED OF CHANGES IN THE REPAIR.My car has minor damage and I was told 7-9 days for repair. I rescheduled so I could have the shortest wait. I called again to be sure I could pick it up by today and was reassured again it would be no later than today. Now I am told the car won't be done until later next week because there was additional damage. First of all, I was not called and told about this damage. Even worse, I planned to trade the car in on Monday based on their promises and now I have to change everything. The transfer of the car. The insurance. The delivery service. When I brought my vehicle to Carstar for a bumper repair, I was originally told it would be a 4 day fix. Turned out to be 4 full weeks. From beginning to end it has been nothing but a headache working with Carstar. After waiting days without hearing anything I call for another update on the car. Was told there was a significant amount of damage under the bumper and that my car would be there for another week. I asked when they found out and was told three days prior. Uh, hello? You d think they would contact the customer and let them know their vehicle was staying a longer time than promised. I let them do their thing for 3 weeks then I called them for an update. Was told my car would be available for pick up either that evening, or the next morning and that they would call me before close to let me know. Unsurprisingly I never received a phone call. Call them the next morning and they say that now my left tail light was broken and that they needed to order the part. This was damage that THEY did to my vehicle, and they admitted to that, however there were no answers as to WHAT happened to the tail light. Was told that they would have the part and have it fixed the next day. I Called them the next day and was told that the vendor sent them the wrong part and now it is going to take another three days. Finally, the day my cars repair was completed, they sent me an email at 12:40 pm while I was in the middle of a workday; therefore there was no way for me to check my email. They didn t bother to call me until 15 minutes before they closed on a Friday evening to let me know my vehicle was ready for pick up. I asked to go pick up my check from my home and bring it over and was told that they will be there on Monday and that they were closing in 15 minutes. Admittedly beyond frustrated, I expressed how absolutely infuriating it is to have your vehicle in the shop for 4 weeks and told 15 minutes before close you could have picked it up, but now we are closing so you are SOL until Monday, meaning I m paying for two extra days of a rental because they could not even give me a courtesy call when they knew it was ready HOURS before close. Why do I need to beg receptionists to call with information regarding my vehicle? Two days later, I pick up the keys to my vehicle and the interior of my car is an absolute mess. Had dirty clorox rags in my vehicle that were not mine. Everything in my car was tossed around and dirty. There is also a ding on the right side of my car that was not there when I brought it to them which I have photographic evidence of. The job looks sloppy, and customer service is non-existent. I have never had such a bad experience in my life. I will never recommend Carstar Davidson and I will make sure to tell friends, family, and anyone with ears of my horrible experience.

I could not be more pleased with Carstar! The whole team is professional and so pleasant to deal with. They coordinated with my rental company so I didn't have to make additional calls when the work took longer due to a Toyota dealer scheduling issue for a part. They also had my rental there waiting for me and then arranged for the pick up when I was done. They stayed in communication with me through the whole process and simplified things every step of the way. I would highly recommend and will never go anywhere else for body work! The car was there for 3 weeks the job at best was a week task. Excuse was the side view mirror came in damaged. So while we waited for a new one the car could have gone to service for other repairs for which an appointment was made. But the car sat. By the way I made all the phone calls on one ever reached out to me with updates I found all this out on my own. Horrible management and highly inefficient.Service: Body & Trim

Ed did my intake for my vehicle that was side swiped. He was very professional and great customer service. He was up front about the whole process and gave great estimates on when the car would be ready. I would recommend this shop to anyone! Thieves working under the Geico umbrella!Geico directed me there when a Geico policy-holder rear-ended me. As the damage was minimal, I thought it would be no harm using their repair shop. I was wrong. I told the Geico rep that the repairs would be done by a shop I use regularly. At carstar, I was asked to sign their little waiver. After a decade in a law firm, I usually read everything thoroughly, but wasn't thinking it would be anything more than a standard release of information between myself & their agent (Geico). When I received word that Geico had green-lighted the repair, they reached out. I was told that it would take 14 days. I said no, I had my own shop & I'd work with them. After 10 days went by & I hadn't heard from Geico, I contacted them. They said they'd sent my check to carstar. The young lady I talked to said she saw notes indicating I wanted to use my own shop. She said she'd get the money back from carstar & send it to my immediately. She's didn't & after 10 more days, I called again. In fact, I've called a number of times. I was given carstar's phone number & told I should work with them. Actually, Geico should be working with their agent. My only contact should need to be with the insurance provider. Anyway, I called carstar. The receptionist said that the paper I signed was their release to get the money & did the work. So I informed her that, per NY State law, I have 3 days to cancel & to check their records. It had only been 3 days. Unfortunately, I'll have to file a lawsuit, as this is the request for this survey is the first I've heard from them since. That's ok, 9% annual interest, per NY State law will be just fine with me. Kinda looking forward to my attorney chewing them to bits.My advice is to stay FAR AWAY from these THIEVES!!!Service: Body & Trim

Our car was brought in for damage estimate and repairs from an auto accident from getting hit in the rear of our car. The car was severly damaged and was a total loss and was unsafe to drive. The staff was Awesome and helpful in getting us a rental car and so understanding of what my husband and I experienced. I got the opportunity to work with Ed and Kris, who were accommodating, informative, and genuinely seemed to care. The work done on my car was fantastic; I m super thankful to have gone there. My truck was hit by another person, and we took the truck there for repairs. They were very nice and accommodating from the start, got my truck repaired in 3 business days, during the holiday season. Jason did what he could to make sure I got it back quickly, and I was able to go at 5:00 on a Monday and pick it up. They also took care of the rental car for me. I would recommend CarStar to anyone that needed car repairs.

Although the staff was polite, it was the repair service that I was more concerned with. It was very poorly executed and took over 2 weeks to complete. Being that I don't have much knowledge about cars I didn't inspect my car thoroughly enough to notice any faults, however, when I brought it home my father recognized that screws from the indoor panel were missing causing it to not be secured properly. Additionally, the rubber lining surrounding the glass window was also not attached securely sparking concern that parts from the old door were reused when I was assured that all new parts were going to be ordered and placed. When I picked up the car, I myself noticed that the door would not open from the inside causing me to wait additionally to have it corrected. Lastly, we noticed specks of paint on the fabric for the backside seating which we were not able to remove.

I should have never taken my car there after someone T-boned me.Girls up front are super kind and very well at communicating with their customers.HOWEVER, the people actually fixing my car not so much.I was told your car will be completely taken apart and made sure everything is correct and fixed as soon as I got my car back I noticed not one thing not two things but THREE things wrong then and there. When I got home I noticed two more things not properly fixed! My windshield wiper fluid line was cut right in half, the main impact was the driver front wheel area. My wipers worked perfectly before the accident. We live in CNY. You need fluid to clean the salt off your car!!Also instead of painting my door properly they painted over my door stickers. just very lousy work done to my car. Very disappointed.

The people were prejudice, nosy, focusing on business that didn t concern them.. They gave me a difficult time. The reception I the front name is Gale , she was nasty, unhelpful and ignorant. There was no one else available to speak with. You can t speak with the mechanic who is actually working on your car for whatever reason. You have to go through Gale who gives you no information, undermines you and tells you she will call you back and never does. No one knows what s going on and you will be waiting forever because your car is sitting there while they smoke cigarettes, drink coffee and gossip.. Don t go there they are prejudice .. I just have to send a shout out to everybody working at Carstar right from the first phone call with Erica to Pam to everybody that fix my car what a wonderful experience. Not only did they fix my car they cleaned it inside and out and look like it just came off the showroom floor when I picked it up.
