I had the best experience....the staff were awesome and seemed to be enjoying their jobs. You stayed in your car and were able to see everything they were doing and you were informed of prices before hand and had choices of products. I left there feeling very happy and confident that everything was done to my satisfaction.

Stopped in on a whim when I realized my inspection was expired. Had an oil change and a NYS Inspection and was in and out in under an hour. The mechanics were friendly, polite and explained everything that they were gonna do and then explained how everything went upon completion. Top Notch Service

On X-Mas eve, my husband and I had an incident with his truck while driving through latham, and the transmission fluid leaked out. I steered while my husband pushed, and a woman jumped out of her vehicle in a dress and immediately helped push as well! We got the truck to the edge of this Valvoline's parking lot, got our flashlights out and began seeing what the issue was. Easy fix, that we can do ourselves. Two employees were finishing closing up shop for the night and came over to help us, Paulie (Pauly?) and Matty I think their names were. Their help and kindness got us enough transmission fluid to get down the road to the auto store and buy the rest of what we needed. It was all a simple thing that happened quickly, but three complete strangers stepped up without question and helped us. It was freezing out too, so really, thank you both and the woman who sprung into action to help push the truck. It speaks to the character of each of them. I hope you all have a good 2024!

Just used Valvoline in Latham, NY. No wait, didn't even have to get out of my car! Zay took excellent care of me. Everyone was very professional and nice! Highly recommend.

The workers were respectful however two cars that came after me left before me & mind you both of them had services done on their vehicles. I was getting an engine flush as well as an oil change, I was told it would take 25 min & it took over an hour to finish. I also find out that someone broke where my oil filter screws on to & they needed to go to autozone to get a new piece, but when they callled they didn t have it so they put the broken one back on while doing my service, I ve spent $125 for wasting my time for an hour and my vehicle now broken. Just pay the extra to go to the dealership .Definitely not a fast and happy experience, prepare for a day trip when going to Valvoline!!!! I will be calling the district manager and will update my review once I get a response back

I had a deflated tire and stopped in to see if I could get tires inflated. I have been driving around Albany and we all know the pothole situation. So they said they would do the inflation for free and just to pull up. The front left tire was the problem I had bought these tires from tire rack two weeks prior and had them installed by a locally Dan shop these guys at Valvoline we re trying to tell me that my tires were used and they had plugs in them which is an absolute lie, I have photographs of the tires that came to my house and they were absolutely brand new without question. So they told me to go next-door to Mavis tire. The Mavis tire in Latham looked and said they couldn t even find a leak on any of the tires. Finally, they found a very small leak on upfront left and confirmed that these were brand new tires, and that the bed next-door were out of their minds, so $50 and a plug later I left able to get back on the road but no thanks to Valvoline who was laughing at me and telling me I got took on four brand new tires and that they were from four different brands of Continental which was a lie. they were trying to put fear in me because I m a female. And they also specifically said mention my name next-door at Mavis.

Extremely grateful for their help. Pauly, Michael, and Dan went above and beyond in assisting with a check engine problem and hood release issue. I was in a bind as the dealership couldn t get me in for 2 weeks, Pauly and his team understood my concern and panic and wasted no time going above and beyond finding a way to fix the problem. They kept the energy positive and were extremely professional and proficient. Even offered future recommendations on preventative maintenance to avoid future issues. The best customer service experience I ve had at a repair shop. Head above heels better than other local Valvoline stations. Professional and courtesies. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This is Brian's wife actually....Was in town to see a older child of mine and needed to get the oil changed before I drove back to Gloucester, Virginia. The staff was super nice and friendly did a great job and I was in and out. Was so happy I brought them DD donuts afterwards. Hope you all enjoyed!!!

I come here for oil changes and the staff is always friendly, offers quick service and hasn't badgered to upsell me on anything. I like coming here.3/11/24Again, the staff here is so great. The technicians working this early afternoon were quick and so incredibly informative, and helpful without being pushy about services or talking down to me bc I wasn t able to understand the issue my car had initially. The guys were so patient and great. Feels like a trusted local mechanic shop, and on the opposite spectrum of attitude and service that I tend to get from Mavis right next door.Thank you.

I asked specifically for an inspection, and after they did their job, I was wondering as to why I was being handed a new sticker with the mileage/date that you d get for an oil change. I was also charge for synthetic oil without being asked first (although I typically pay for the synthetic, they normally ask which one I prefer), which is also more expensive. Didn t receive a new inspection sticker, and sure enough when I got home and looked at my email for the receipt, they charged me for an oil change, NOT an inspection, which came out to $108. I called the store back immediately and told them the issue, and they said inspection are done by appointment only. I then told them that it s fair that it s appointment only, but it would have been nice that I was told this so I could have scheduled an appointment for this to be done. The guy on the phone gave me a slight attitude and asked so what, you want you money back or something? Of course I want my money back, I paid $108 for something I did NOT ask for or need. Wasn t due for an oil change for another 4k miles, which they saw on the records of my account from the last time it was done. Now I m having to wait over an hour for my car to be inspected. Will not be coming back here again!Update: I had to schedule an appointment for the inspection a week later, which was fine. It was scheduled for 10am, which didn t get done until about 10:40am. The inspection would have been $21, but the manager did not charge me for it due to their error the week prior when I initially arrived.Needless to say, I won t be going here again.

I I got here this morning 10-21-2311:45 AmI bought brand new vipers from Walmart I saw the guy was playing with viper I believe he break it with his nail and ask me to get new one I feel he is racist the way he was talking and all the employees don t want work when I arrived they told me if we inspect your car and I sell the car inspection will be voidedThis is Latham location I think location need new manager to handle this locationAnd dmv must have to take action

Pretty good crew there. All employees were very cool. Friendly and pretty on point. Nice conversation and a chill environment. Even tho I only went for an oil change. They were fast, efficient and pretty straight forward with everything. 100% will use this location in the future.

I've been a Valvoline customer for years, but after this past experience I will not go back with any of our vehicles.Here is what occurred:My wife brought her car in for an oil change. In addition to the $119 charged for the 8.5 quarts indicated on the receipt, they charged an addition $30 for extra oil.Shortly after her visit we noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust. When the car was cold, I checked the oil level and it was over halfway up the dipstick- very substantially, and incompetently, overfilled. I never would have imagined that a shop whose main business is oil changes could have been this far off the mark. This error could lead to a head gasket leak or other significant engine damage, which we still are not sure hasn't occurred. Since we noticed the smoke quickly we did not drive a lot of miles.I called the shop and they said bring it in,. but I was not comfortable driving it until the oil level was down. I siphoned what I could from the dipstick ( an agonizingly slow process), about a quart+, and it was still substantially above the full level, still about 1/4 of the way up the dipstick. I risked it and drove it in, about 6 miles. The manager removed the oil until it was at the proper level. He indicated that a new guy had worked on it and that was the reason for the overfill, although I noticed the manager's name on the receipt as one of the people who worked on the car.The manager was well mannered and courteous. However, here are my beefs, in addition to the potentially severely damaging initial overfill:1. There was no offer of a refund for the charge for the excess oil, which clearly was not needed.2. I would have thought that they would have drained all of the oil out and replaced with new, since the reason for the overfill is that they did not remove all of the old oil (in fact, I would say they hardly removed any, judging by the amount I saw removed, which was easily 2-3 quarts, in addition to what I previously removed). So the new oil is now tainted with the old oil, and we will likely need to get another oil change anyway- its about black now, with hardly any miles driven since the initial change.3. if this shop had any interest in return business, I would think, in addition to what I mentioned above, they would have offered a free or severely discounted service- it would have been a meaningful gesture that communicated an acknowledgement of their error and their value of us as customers. Alas, no, just a goodbye.Goodbye.Service: Oil change

I usually go to the one in Troy but the wait was so long. So I ended up going to the one in Latham. The service was fast & I didn t have to wait. The lady was very nice & very professional. I told her that I needed a oil change but I couldn t get the one I always do. I have to do a regular oil change. She said that was fine but the oil can mess up my transmission. I understood. I proceeding to get the regular oil change but this one guy said to me you need to get the other oil & I said I already had discussion with the lady. The lady said she knows but she wants to get this oil. He still proceeds to keep going. I said I already talk to this lady about it. My mother has the same car as me & gets a regular oil change & never has a issue. My thing is if I had a conversation with the lady already. I don t need no one else telling me what to do with my car. I shouldn t have to keep explaining myself.

Came in for a needed oil change and decided to do an AC service. I also used a groupon that brought down the cost of the services tremendously. The team at this location are extremely professional and polite. I had an issue and they were able to accommodate me the following day. They were quick to answer the phone and help me resolve my issue. Shoutout to Lamar, Jeffery, and Mike. i brought my car in yesterday for an oil change . they attempted to do a inspection that i didn t ask for (no muffler) and then tried to charge me for it.. i was threatened with physical violence by the assist manager and the employee who did the oil change . police came.. made them give me my car after holding me and my car against my will for 2 hours . while on hold with customer service the agent on the phone got to hear them cursing at me. can t wait to get a follow upService: Oil change

We tried to use them to be convenient. Today was the worse experience we have had yet! We sent a driver into get an oil change. I understand upselling is something needed to be done but when someone tells you NO and you still go forward with wipers and cabin air filter.They are out here taking advantage customers doing service without consent! Considering we have a fleet of vehicles and put enough miles on to need an oil change almost monthly. This is what happen when you choose speed over quality.Service: Oil change

It was uncomfortable to sit and watch vehicles that had difficulties have preference over the just less expensive and economical vehicle such as mine. My vehicle didn't require anything but a simple oil change and inspection and a purchase of a replacement item. I understand customer service is important but to sit over 2 hours for a oil change and inspection was ridiculous..
