john from j & d auto is an amazing, honest, affordable mechanic. john beat pep boys on a quote by over 50 percent! he also got my van running perfect for a 3,000 mile trip with no issues. i started leaking antifreeze and needed a new flush plug, john fixed this as well. not an easy job as you have to disassemble 50 percent of the engine. pricing is incredibly competitive. call john last after you get a couple quotes. all around great mechanic, hard to find in brooklyn.Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

On Thursday, October 12th, I brought my car (2016 Honda Civic) to Johnny the mechanic at J&D auto repair. My car kept stalling because I needed a battery replacement. When I went to the mechanic, he agreed that I needed a new battery. I paid him the $160 to install a new battery. After I paid him, he explained that he s having trouble taking my car out of the park shift. He explained that he needed to have his computer guy come to look at the issue because he did not understand what was happening for it not to go out of park shift. On Tuesday, October 17th, Johnny explained that he has no idea what is wrong with the car and that I should have it towed to the Honda. Five days after my car was brought into the shop to have a routine battery change, I hired a tow company to move my car from J&D Auto repair to Honda. Honda in the first 30 minutes of looking at my car explained that the battery was installed backwards, which blew out 2 main fuses in the car. The reason that the car wouldn t shift out of park was that the incorrect installation of the battery caused the circuit to go out in the major computer of the transmission, thus causing the car not to recognize any of the shifts. Honda is charging $1700 to fix Johnny s negligence of incorrect battery installation. Johnny will not take responsibility for his mistake of the battery installation and is blaming the car. Honda explained that all of the damage was caused by the incorrect battery installation by the prior mechanic. I offered Johnny to pay have of his mistake and for him to take responsibility for the other half. He refused, which caused me to escalate the situation.

My experience with John was excellent. He advised against a bumper repair that would have made him a lot more money. He repaired my car, explained and showed me the part that needed replacement. Since my car will be used for a long cross country trip, he took extra care to make sure everything was working properly.I recommend John for his great service and honesty.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Excellent service, I was there for a repair on my Infiniti truck and it was like new, also Jhon the owner is very nice.They have excellent prices and excellent service. I recommend it 1000% Stop wasting time and money with bad mechanics and come here.

Jon is the man. He s honest, fair priced, and very knowledgeable. He s helped my 2000 Honda Civic reach well over 200,000 miles and I know he ll keep her going well over 300k. Highly recommended, everything you d want in a mechanic
