Tom was so helpful! Came in concerned about a potential nail in the tire of my Tesla, also unsure if it was going to be a standard fix. Tom quickly had the car jacked up to assess the situation and took great care in determining whether or not he could fix the tire. Turned out it was a small nail, simple patch and within 10min I was back on the road. Super lucky to have such helpful / great service in the area. Oh and they have three cute pups to add :)

About a month ago now I brought the heads off of my 2002 Subaru forester here to be re-machined. After talking to him I realized there was a lot more wrong with them than I previously thought. For an extremely good price he was able to completely rebuild them for me and re-machine their surfaces. They looked better than they ever have and my car is running flawlessly a month out, with no signs of any future issues. Keep in mind that I love my car, so I would never even consider letting anyone work on it that I didn't 100% trust. This is truly a one of a kind shop, you will not be able to find better car service anywhere.Service: Engine repair

I wish I lived nearby and would make this my go to auto repair shop. Tom and Leann were incredibly helpful, honest, and hospitable.I was up in the area for an event and my tire pressure light came on. After adding air to my tired and the tire pressure still on, I was worried about a leak. With a 2+ plus drive back home ahead of me I searched the nearest auto repair shop and decided on TLC based on the reviews. Don t let the quantity of the reviews discourage you from making this your FIRST and TOP choice when you have a automobile issue. Their quality in work (ethic) and their character is above and beyond.They did not disappoint! Leann was wonderful as she was accommodating, given their busy schedule. And Tom was amazing, he looked into my car and taught me a few mechanics 101 or as he puts it, to make sure no one can swindle you when it comes to your car .Luckily, I learned a new thing or two about my car, and met two individuals that truly care about their line of work.If you ever have car troubles, do stop by here.

I had my vehicle towed to TLC when my daughter was driving and the brakes locked up on her. Tom the owner/mechanic called me with very detailed and honest information about what was wrong. I m not from the area, and was treated like I lived down the road from them.Super nice folks. He took pictures of everything wrong and sent them to me . I got 4 new tires , front brakes and calipers and a tension rod replaced. Then he took pictures of everything replaced and sent to me.The car is running awesome. My Daughter is up in the Albany area , but she will be bring the car to Tom for repairs and maintenance.

Honest, hard working, courteous, communicative, great mechanic that will fix anything and do it right the first time, as well as give you options and estimates and make sure you're involved in the process. This guy sets the standard when it comes to what a mechanic should be, I don't take my car anywhere else.(Thats saying a lot, because I'm really good at breaking things and/or wearing them out)

I don't write reviews often, but Tom is the best! So thorough and helpful.He even offers pick up & drop off service, and was more than flexible in working around my schedule right before a holiday weekend. Very grateful for the help!

I took my car there with an evap leak that has been an ongoing issue for 2 years. Every other mechanic said that the problem was with the gas cap. The evap leak code always came back. This guy diagnosed it the first day as a crack near the fuel pump, which happens to sit under the back seat. It is nice to know there is a competent mechanic in the area. Evap leak finally fixed! I will be bringing my car back there from now on, Thank you! Oh he also did my brakes and tires. Very reasonable pricing. Great to work with!Services: Auto exhaust system repair, Brakes

Just a super experience. I got a tire pressure warning light in the middle of a long trip passing through Athens, and the shop couldn't have been more helpful. Took me right away, pulled a nail out of the tire, resent the pressure on all 4 tires and the spare, and sent us off with a well heard warning about tire rot. Great guy, great service - I was lucky to find it!

First time at TLC and we will only bring our cars there from now on! The check engine light was on forever in our 2013 Hyundai. Another local shop said it was the gas cap. Multiple visits, 2 new gas caps, and 2 separate diagnostic fees later, we finally took it to Tom. He immediately knew what was wrong and performed a smoke test to confirm it. He replaced the evap canister and purge valve, and the check engine light hasn't been on since. He also replaced the shocks and struts so the car rides like it's brand new again. My only regret is that I didn't take it to TLC sooner! Tom and Leann are professional and extremely friendly. The work was perfect and the price is incredibly reasonable!! He is very detailed honest takes pictures of his work and video. If needs be and shows you Before & After photos will recommend to my family and hopefully to yours. Subaru's really any kind of car but subaru's are the best

My name is Thomas corcoran I am owner of tlc machining and auto repair they don't leave a area to reply to comments left, but to inform everyone that reads these reviews to see the respect my shop has , the review from shawn Plante is a set up from a car club situation, he has never seen or even been here while I was ever working on a customers vehicle, and at one time I was a nice guy and let him use my shop to put tires on his dodge truck because I tried to save him money and this is what I get in return, I have reported his bulling , to Google and I will be taking legal action for false presentation of my garage, he thought it was a way to pay me back. U can all read the rest of postive reviews, which was dumb on his part I have a positive feed back, so anyone can see it would be suspicious. Thank u for understanding!! Thanks to Google they understood the seriousness of the situation and removed it!!!

The team is extremely polite and accommodating. The mechanic is a workhorse and definitely knows his stuff. Replaced 2 bum tires for me in a pinch. Glad I found them and I'll definitely be going back for all my automotive needs!

They do good work, they are honest, and are one of the few shops that will do heavy engine work on site many shops either contract it out or pass it off somewhere else due to the labor and hours involved.I needed a head gasket job on my 1997 F-150 I knew the job wasn't one I wanted to do myself, so upon referral, I chose TLC and they did a great job. Thomas and Rich's attention to detail was excellent and because they do the rebuilding and machining the job was done correctly.Thomas, the owner, his wife and mechanic Rich are good people they run an honest business and I am happy with the service I received.

Tom was SO helpful. They do great work and at a very* reasonable price!! We highly recommend this place. We were traveling back up to Vermont and ran into car trouble around Athens, drove up to TLC at the end of their work day and they took really great care of us. Tom drove us to Holiday Inn safely and got us a discounted room for the night, and then finished the car first thing the next day. Thank you so much!!!

My car had been sitting for a long time waiting on repairs and getting promises before I took it to them and Thomas solved the problem overnight. The last review is wrong. I was one of the two people standing out in front of the garage door. When you had a flat tire.the other gentleman was a customer also.I was waiting for the owner and other mechanic to return with my vehicle that they were test driving. I have been using this garage for many years and they are the most honest people you could ask for. They do great mechanical work and machinist. All done on site!!!

Let me start by saying that Tom and the team at TLC have been servicing my family's cars for several years and have been quite happy with Tom and the high level service they receive. I have a 2014 Spark which still under warranty. After several unfavorable visits to my dealership I decided to give Tom a call for work. As expected, I received VIP service. Tom and his wife were very friendly and more than willing to answer myquestions. Because of Tom and TLC I was able to save HUNDREDS of dollars on my auto repair. It warms my heart to see a business today be as customer service centered as they are. Tom will now have all my non-warranty business. Thanks for everything.

I came in from out of town with a coolant leak. Tom was able to not only repair the problem but also provided a ride to and from my house as this was our only car. The repair went off without a hitch with the same price and timing that I was quoted. Very knowledgable and great customer service!

My John Deere tractor suddenly lost all power while I was using it. I towed it back to my garage and while figuring out how to get it to a shop to have someone look at it, my neighbor told me TLC also did repairs on diesel engines. I called them and spoke to Tom, who said they will be able to look at it. When I mentioned to Tom, I would have to figure out how to get it on the trailer, he said he would come out to my house and look at it. Tom and his mechanic Rich came to my house and figured out very quickly that it was just a blown fuse. This saved me from a very expensive bill at the John Deere dealership for something very minor. They are very honest, which is hard to find these days in a repair shop. Thank you very much!!!!

WOW! I can't say enough good things about this couple. They went above & beyond to help us with our brakes. We were vacationing in the area from Ohio when we discovered our brake troubles. All in a few hours they located the parts, called us to drop off our truck, drove us back to our camp site and then picked us up again when the repair was finished. A+ service. Tom from TLC saved our vacation. We had two tire blowouts within an hour on our Airstream trailer and limped into our campground. Tom replaced the four main tires and spare the following day at our campground and couldn t have been more accommodating or professional. He and his wife Leanne couldn t have been any nicer and their rates were very reasonable. Highly recommend TLC.

Let me start with I had no actual dealings this business, which is why I am reviewing them. Last week I got a flat tire and pulled over right in front of their shop. 2 people from their shop stood there and watched. They just watch. I had to call someone to come with a jack. People stopped and offered help, all while the shop employees stood by and watched. Not once did they offer any assistance. And it was right in front of their shop. Doesn't sound like people I would want to do business with.
