Merv s the best. Great mechanic and even better person. He is honest and his prices are super reasonable. He isn t going to tell you that you need to refill your blinker fluid or anything other shady mechanics will do. Go see Merv and you ll be taken care of, guaranteed.

Merv is amazing! Extremely professional! He took care of every issue I needed fixed at that moment. Prices are affordable. He got the job done in a timely manner. Answered all of my questions, leaving me feeling satisfied. It s so nice to know there is a mechanic out there that is passionate about the work that he does and not beating you in the head for a dollar. Merv is the man!

The owner got me in to look at my vehicle within hours of my call, has me leave my car with him, and it was fixed before lunch the following day. My wife and I loved how down to earth and personable he was, to the point that I commented to her that I'd love to just go down to the shop just to chat with the owner. He was extremely transparent with what he had to do to fix the vehicle, and took me on a short test drive to show that the issue was indeed fixed. I highly recommend this shop. We'll be coming back for any future preventative maintenance or repairs.

If you are looking for extraordinary service from extraordinary man and a mechanic visit Mr. Merv. He saved my dads vacation by taking care of his Car. All the shops said it would take two weeks for the repair to take place, Mr. Merv made it happen within 24 hours. This is what I call extraordinary services. Two rear wheel bearing ordered and changed within few hours. You are Tbest in my world!!! If my car had to breakdown, I'm glad it happened near Merv's. My radiator died on the NYS Thruway and I limped into Merv's. Even though he was just about to close, he took the time to look the problem over for me and diagnosed it on the spot: showed me the dripping, removed some plastic exposing the long crack where the water was leaking from. My car made it to a hotel for the night, as he reassured me it would, and I was back to see him early next morning for the repair. He had me back on the road in 2 hours. He's honest, straightforward, with fair pricing, and appears to be just an all around good guy. And the car is running great. Thanks again Merv!

I continue to be so impressed by Merv s service. Twice now he s resurrected my old car when others, including mechanics, had told me that my car would cost too much to repair. He always takes the time to drive with you in the car so you can discuss and evaluate the repair. Fast and reliable service for a great price! I had my front breaks done (rotors and pads) in a little over an hour. If you decide to wait the lounge area is small but there's a TV set up. Also very friendly customer service. Overall great experience - I'll be going back if my car has any issues.

Merv's is one of the few places left that will do the jobs the corporate mechanics won't. I've gone to Merv's a dozen times over the years and he does great work.He's never turned me down for those 10-15 min pain in the rear jobs that 99% of other places will laugh at.

On the recommendation of a friend I used this garage for the first time. I brought my car in on a Tuesday needing a new water pump. Something that should have taken a couple of days at the most for any backyard mechanic, took eight days for this place. On top of that, when I went and picked up the car there was a loud whining noise coming from the front end that was absolutely not there when I pulled the car into that lot on that Tuesday afternoon. He said he cannot figure out what that whining noise is, so guess what? Now I not only have to bring it to another garage ( because even if I had to walk everywhere I would never bring it back to this one), but I also had to pay this guy almost $300 for the water pump be put in. I hold him solely responsible for screwing up my car. Be very, very careful about going here. If I could rate a zero, I probably would. Tossing one star out there because he seems to be a nice guy , but he did screw my car up to the point where I have to go again and get it repaired for the whining noise that was not there when I pulled it into his car lot , but was there when I pulled it out

I only had a few hours to get my car fixed when my starter broke down 5 hours from home in Amsterdam, NY so after reading some reviews I chose to get my car towed to Merv's. Mervin got my car in immediately, gave me a super fair quote, and had a new starter in my car within 3 hours. I wish I lived closer so he could be my mechanic all of the time. Highly recommend.!

Merv is THE BEST! My car broke down a few miles from merv's auto in the middle of a 6 hour drive and he completely saved the day! Merv started working on my car immediately and had me back on the road in no time. He did great work and his prices were amazing. I am very grateful I found merv!

Merv really bailed us out when my boyfriends brakes went all of a sudden. He got him in the very next morning and he was able to get him out in a little over an hour. He did awesome work! We have a new mechanic in the area!

Merv's auto is the best. He is always there to help. He's very fair on prices and make sure you get your car back as quick as possible. They are all very friendly down there. Any car issues go see Merv. He is definitely the best neighborhood mechanic!!!!

My wife and I had a breakdown on the NYS thruway late in the afternoon while on the way to an important appointment. We limped to the nearest exit, which was Amsterdam. Googled for nearby garages, found Merv's and hoped for the best. When we arrived, Merv dropped what he was working on and immediately took a look at our car. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a brake caliper that had come disassembled. Merv replaced a missing bolt, ensured the brake was properly put back together, and took the car for a test drive with me.We could not be happier! Merv saved the day and proved there still are good honest people in the world!

Awesome mechanic, i didnt have appt he took us in for an oil change my car had other issues i spoke to him he took me in solved the issue as quick as 1,2,3 i was out and satisfied with the job. Honest works with u considerate hard working and fast. Best mechanic indeed definetely the best here in amsterdam plus an asset to the community with prices and willingness to help those in need. I been everywhere and very satisfied with the service merv provides. This is one mechanic that wont let u down. We found him and wont change him for anything. Keep up the great work merv. As long as ur a mechanic we will remain true to u. Awesome!!!

NEVER GO HERE FOR CAR REPAIR. he installed my differential and didn't put the differential bolt in so was driving and the differential came ou breaking my rear axle. Luckily I was not on the high way. My 1 year old daughter was in the car when this happened. Went back to the shop and talk to Mevs the owner and he said that's not his problem becausd it was working fine when he installed it. Never go there unless you don't value your life or your family. We could have died if it happened on the highway. HE REFUSED TO FIX MY AXLE AFTER HE KNEW HE CAUSED IT.

They good with the customer service but they couldn t stop the oil leak n then say he couldn t find y it s still leaking so I outta $500

Not a good place to fix your car. Mevs the owner installed my wheel beering and a couple of days later my tire came out on the highway causing me to totaled my car and sending me the the hospital for 4 days. Never will I suggest you go there unless you don't care about your life. I wish I can give 0 star instead of 1

Place is a joke.. I called before u came by with my car that had a slow gas leak and he told me to wait i see him working on another car at this point we are just standing around not being helped wasn't told anything just wait After waiting for a bit i knocked to get his attention just for him to act like I m bothering him it resulted in him saying he s always busy and letting myself out He s not professional at all and rude one place i will never go to again

This guy is amazing. He really takes the time to get it right. I took my car there and what would have cost me $700 elsewhere he only charge me half. I will definitely be going there again.

The only drawback here is that we can't clone Merv. Reliable, trustworthy and invested in getting you on the road at a price you can't beat. Try finding that in your local retail mechanic
