Service Department Manager Chris Foley provided help with my bike storage situation. He was very understanding and responsive. When was required, the other team members stepped up as well. I really wish this place was around the corner from me (I live in California) so I could proudly call it "my bike shop"!

In July 2023 we were on our final leg of our 6 day ride through upstate New York and heading back home to Ontario Canada. Unfortunately, on my Ultra Limited the engine and coolant warning lights came on as we were heading north from Lake Placid. I pulled into F.X. Caprara H-D at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon and headed to the service dept. I was met by Chris Foley - Service Manager, an awesome guy that was super cool about my situation and right away said let me see what we can do for you. He managed to locate a new water pump and then worked some kind of miracle with the techs who installed it and got the bike back together by closing time. Chris and his team provided very professional service but more than that, they were just happy to help me out. Needless to say, I left F.X. H-D a very happy customer.I would definitely recommend them for your service needs.

Bought a Can am 1000, brand new right out of the box. Super pleased with the machines preformance, it's so fast it's scary. That being said we tried our very best to get a helmet thrown in for free or even at a discount price, they wouldn't even consider it. This atv is one of the most powerful machines they have and it wasn't cheep the least they could have done was given us one helmet. But besides that very clean and organized store. Wide range of bikes,4x4, side by side and, sleds. Check em' out!...so now 13 months later this beautiful machine has had many rear differential problems, mechanics are aware of this constant problem stating machines usually take a hit the first year. Well for the price this should not happen! Not happy with the way service men handle customers.

I'm shipping a bike across the country and I was hoping to use this shop as a spot for the shipper to pick it up, which I've been told HD dealships do all of the time. The manager I spoke to basically flat out said no, with no real reason, and was kind of rude about it. Very surprising as most other HD dealerships I've dealt with have been really friendly and helpful.****Update:As Dawn mentioned, I asked a friend to call in and they received much better service than I did. I'm not sure if the issue is who I spoke to specifically or what, but it was all sorted out in the end. They allowed me to leave the bike there at no charge and the pickup went smoothly.

The maintenance department is deceptive.I dropped off my Can Am ATV to have the timing chains replaced as the rear cylinder timing chain had fallen off. I had taken the rear valve cover off and discovered it had a slipped timing chain. FX said they could fix it, but after they did, FX wouldn't guarantee their work when I left, because the engine was all tore apart. To clarify, I wouldn't call removing plastics, air intake and valve covers "taking the engine apart". Reluctantly, I agreed because I wanted it fixed and figured the dealer would have decent mechanics. Later they called to tell me it was fixed, everything was good and it was ready to be picked up. So I paid the $1525, thanked them multiple times and went around the back to pick it up. The first thing I see is a shop hand pushing it across the lot. I try to start it and it clearly is not running right (ie. sounds terrible, won't stay running without giving it lots of gas, odd sounds coming from the cylinder). It seemed to be running on one cylinder. When I asked the mechanic who worked on it, he told me, "it's just bad gas". So I left to get a siphon pump and fresh gas. I didn't want to leave with it since they told me they wouldn't warranty any work after I left. In the meantime they called to tell me they replaced the gas and it was ready. When I showed back up I could barely get it started again. When I drove it around the lot it would barely even go 15 mph. It's an 800cc twin. The service manager never leaves his seat to even check it out himself. He tells me it's not throwing any codes and was running fine earlier, then he suggests maybe it's a spark plug, maybe electrical, maybe a problem in the bottom half and that it could cost thousands of dollars more. It would have been nice to know this before I showed up thinking its ready to ride. I leave frustrated wondering why, after a $1525 job the ATV doesn't work, why the mechanic wouldn't just throw in new plugs if he really thought that might be the problem? Most of all why did they say it was ready and good when it clearly wasn't? I don't doubt the parts, or the time, just the work, and wish they were up front about it not running. I was civil and didn't loose my temper but come on? Thanks for nothing. Couldn't you have at least taken a second look?Reply to dealer response:Yes, I gave you the go ahead to do the engine work because you said you could fix it. You told me it was fixed when it wasn't. As for not charging me for a belt installation and oil change, that is part of the job you have to remove and reinstall the belt to change the timing chains, and I requested it. So thanks for not double charging me for that. AND as for the additional work you suggested, now I realize what a missed opportunity it was for me to not have you replace half my fourwheeler piece by piece when you can't even replace timing chains correctly. I took my wheeler to another mechanic. Turns out FX timed the rear cylinder 180 degrees out of time when putting it back together. Wasn't a big deal to fix it. It would have taken five minutes for FX to take the valve covers off to check the timing. The mechanic clearly knew he didn't fix it. Maybe even had an idea of what he did wrong but chose to give me some lame excuse about bad gas. The maintenance manager first tells me they fixed it, then later telling me they fixed it best they could, but for a couple more grand they can definitely fix it. These are not communication issues as you describe. They are flat out lies. I wanted to like this place. I bought my last truck, snowmobile, and four wheeler from fx dealers. BUT when you take someone for good faith and they look you in the eye and lie, and continue to lie it changes your perspective.

Bought a brand new 2014 Arctic cat ATV off the showeoom floor, I have less than 150 miles on it, now it has a noise in the back end, I called them to get it in for service and they state they can't work on it because it's an ATV, they only work on Arctic cat sleds (of which I bought a brand new sled the same day I bought the ATV and I came back the next with a family member who bought a new sled too) Won't be buying there again.
