Service has always been courteous. They were great when my car was still under warranty. Afterwards, they began to simply make stuff up. Most recently, they quoted me >$6000 in urgent or 'critical' repairs, but were cagey when I started asking questions. They said my brakes were down to a 2/9. I took my car to Mango, who said that most of this stuff was bogus and the brakes were 7/9. The real cost of repairs (including a nearly dead battery that University didn't catch): $700.Everything the other reviews say about unreliable time estimates is correct -- they say they'll be done by noon, expect it at 5, just for an oil change and inspection. They make a big deal of saying they'll come pick you up, but good luck getting someone to answer the phone.

Just needed some spare keys needed for my truck. I was initially told they just need the vin number and the keys would be there in a day or two. They said they would call when they arrived. They did not call when the keys came in. Also did not tell me that they need to activate they keys, for another fee of course. Come back the next day and was told it would be very quick to activate the keys. Ended up waiting over 2 hours. Unreliable, untrustworthy service department. I will not be back for anything.Service: Auto maintenance

Went in for recall issue. Said it would take 2 hours. Didn't take 2 hours. Took all day. No call until I called to check status. Then, they had to order part. Came back, again a few days later and they said will take 2 hours. Took all day. Advisor asked if I wanted rear windshield wiper replaced and I said yes bc it needed to be replaced. They replaced front ones, too even though I didn't authorize. Attention to detail and follow up seems to be lacking.Service: Auto maintenance

Came in from Farmington to get recall work done on Mazda. About 2 hours to get service work done. Not bad. But then it took three more hours to get shuttle service from hotel back to Mazda to pick up the car.Mazda shuttle driver kept lying about how long it would be before he picked me up. 5 hours total for a two hour job. Would have stayed at Mazda and waiting for the job to be finished, but they strongly suggested that I should take their shuttle back to the hotel and that they'd gladly pick me up at the end of the job. Also I schedule an oil change while I was there because the price was pretty reasonable. Didn't realize until time to pay that parts (oil and filter) weren't included in that price.

Made an appointment to have my oil changed and they still took 3 hours to do it, only updating me towards the end when recommending services. Asked them to rotate and balance my tires (which was on the recommendation sheet). They didn't rotate them because the tires were too worn (why recommend it then?), didn't tell me they weren't going to rotate them, but still went ahead and balanced them. Gave me a $15 discount for my wait but it seems that the discount was really for unperformed services.

Sadly, I was unable to purchase the VW Taos or Mazda CX5, however, I would go back or recommend Ms. Sandy White to anyone who is looking to purchase a car. She provided an excellent customer service by being very attentive, patient, and very honest. Her professionalism left such an impression on me that I still feel very sad that I didn't find a car that would fit my needs. Thank you Ms. Sandy. You are an asset to University Mazda.

Sara Denogean provided excellent care as service rep in helping to get around an online scheduling flaw that allowed me to believe I was scheduled for an oil change when in fact there was no space for me. (The dealership needs to address the online scheduling situation.) Only Sara's willingness to work with me and provide the service in a timely manner, as well as her knowledgable and attentive care, will keep me a customer at University where I purchased my car 10 years ago and where all service and maintenance has occurred for that decade. Thanks Sara!

Man i don't think ive ever had anyone be as rude on the phone as whoever is answering for both their main line and the service department. Why would I want to take my car there for service when you treat me like im a burden or just absolute garbage. No thanks I'll go somewhere that treats customers with RESPECT.

I dealt with salesperson James Dean and manager Rockie Roybal (indirectly). The salesperson was likable, easy to work with, and seemed like a good guy, while the sales manager, Rockie, didnt listen to any of my requests and just wanted to play the car salesman scum of the earth game. I walked away from buying a car there and am now looking elsewhere. Would definitely NOT recommend University VW/Mazda.

Great sales team, awful office staff. I called to have a new temporary tag emailed to me and the clerk told me I would have to drive in my unregistered car to pick it up. How about no?
