Refused to work on my car, do a simple oil change, because it needs mechanical work. Useless car mechanic to say the least. Waste of a Groupon. Avoid this location if you need oil change or basic car maintenance. No mechanics working here. Walmart helped me no questions asked. Walmart did not waste my time. Trust Walmart before Midas. Cheaper too. I will never return to Midas. I m a mechanic myself. I remember these things.

Midas on San Mateo quoted me $7384.95 for work Brake Masters on San Mateo did for $1654.33. Much of the work Midas recommended wasn't necessary according to Brake Masters. Virginia from Midas originally quoted me nearly $1800.00 for the brake work alone. When I declined, she called back with an $1100.00 offer. "Called my supplier and got a discount on the parts", was her reason for the difference. For thirty years I have had all my suspension work done at Midas but after this I will never return. Buyer beware!!!

Don't bring your vehicle here...This location worked on my aftermarket exhaust a few months back diagnosing leaks and replacing some parts. Now the exhaust is making a rattling and hissing noise and I'm being told they can't work on it because it's aftermarket. When I explained it had been worked on at this location previously, the manager named Ray said "we got a whole new crew now so we can't do anything." It's interesting how previously I was charged about $300 for the same exhaust to be worked on but now I'm being turned away when I'm wanting warranty work. SCAM!

I went to this store to get brakes for my wife car. The manager Marcus Baca and said he would get her car out first thing it took 1 1/2 hrs. to get an estimate. They mechanic working on her car was sitting in a chair playing on his phone and was not doing his job. The overall cleanliness of this business was lacking the shop was a mess. There was no coffee for the coffee machine.Once, I received the estimate It was $1,200 he tried to convince that the rotors needed to be replaced. They had never turned before and they were not metal to metal.There was a customer while I was there also and he handed him $2500 estimate and walked out also. I would not recommend this shop.

Virginia was so sweet, we chatted the whole hour we were here. They were quick, I made the appointment same day. And the workers were so prompt. Will absolutely be coming back! Please Be on the AWARE for Wrong fluids in resevoirs.. Got a good deal for oil change through Groupon Made an appt for next day. Arrived the manager was very nice and knowledgeable as they took my vehicle for service I waited in lobby area actually fell asleep so comfortable as I awoke my car was ready. Did the paperwork and left. Car running tiptop condition. As I went to clean my windows they refill & top all liquids wiper fluid etc my windows were like greasy really weird went on with my day. Next Morning got into vehicle I went for windshield wiper fluid again they got worse and paint on my car were greasy as well. So I looked on Internet it stated that they poured antifreeze in the wrong reservoir so called and went back .Manager took car and drained and put into right reservoir.. Before leaving check all fluids make sure in right resevoirs..

Brought my car in to replace stud, left with inoperable brakes. Shop took our caliper and piston for absolutely no reason and forgot to put them back, so that all my brake fluid drained in 5 min. Created extremely dangerous driving conditions where the brakes only slightly functioned.Update: they replaced removed items and replaced brakes for free. So the car is safe to drive again, but was quite a hassle and extremely dangerous.

Great service Marcus and Javier (San Mateo location) where very helpful. They are people you can trust. I took my truck for a wheel alignment, I have not done a wheel alignment to my truck in years. They told me the aligment is not needed. They were aware that I have not done it in years, if it were another shop they would of just said it needs it. Thank you very much keep up the good work. I will defenetly return again.

Horrible service. Sarcastic Rude staff. The lady at the front works both locations on San Mateo and 528 and she is completely unknowledgeable about cars she likes to argue and seems as if she doesn't want to do the job at all. First time I got a oil change done at 528 they didn't know what type of oil I used until the manager looked it up and said ok. I was also using a Groupon which they do not like however they should not partner with them if they don't want to honor them. Not the customers fault for wanting to try to save some pennies. Went in for alignment and said I needed struts wouldn't do alignment without struts waited an hour and 15 minutes for them to tell me this and they couldn't do anything. GM should have mentioned on phone the night before when he called asking a bunch of questions about my car. Would have never went in! Completely wasted my time which is not easy with a 5 year old. Thanked them for nothing and went to my Dealership! I'd rather pay the extra and go to the dealership to be treated with respect than to be treated like trash and get nothing done! Literally thanked them for nothing as they said "you're welcome and of course!" Both the technician and the lady at the front were very sarcastic and need to take a course in human behavior and respect. These people are not children, but certainly act like it. Grown adults should not act like this yet they seem to do it with pride.

The 11 day oil change. I took my car in for an oil change, off the bat was up charged to full synthetic. The day after the oil change my wife and I got to take our new born son from the ABQ hospital home to Santa Fe. The drain plug fell out on the highway. I drove it to Santa Fe because I didn't want these people messing with my car again. I thought the Mieneke at the Santa Fe Place mall was a Midas. I had to get it towed back to this location. Midas had my car for 11 days, put in a refurb engine as the other seized. The manager kept saying that me or someone else messed with the drain plug after I left the shop. Got my car back to find a loud hissing noise. The AC hose was not tight and it was leaking. The worst part is I usually go to Jiffy Lube, I ended up paying $20 more and losing 11 work days (as I use my car for work) by going to Midas on San Mateo instead of going to Jiffy Lube. How do you have a car for 11 days and still are not tightening things down? I am filing a complaint with corporate. I kept hearing I'd receive phone calls and never did. This is the most incompetent business I have ever dealt with.Service: Oil change

Got me in the day I called, and we re super helpful and kind! I really appreciated that they were thorough with their explanations of the diagnosis, and they ordered my parts to be ready the next day. They even offered to drive me home. Oil change price was very reasonable. Wonderful service. Timely repairs. Marcus was helpful and made me feel very appreciated. He explained what and how things would be done and let me know the risks of not getting what needed repaired. Been coming here for years. For two of my vehicles. Made n appointment for 8am. I walk in and they tell me they don't have a technician. So I've wasted my time and now I have to waste more finding another place for this oil. This is setting my entire day/week back. That I really cannot afford right now. Don't set appointments if you don't have the techs for the jobs. I'm not happy about this at all.

Best experience yet in making an apt online for oil change! Received a coupon, and booked online with immediate response from manager. Midas went above and beyond as I needed a courtesy ride to my class! Everything from the start was amazing! I recommend this location and service 100% as very friendly and efficient as my oil change was done and recommendations were reviewed with no pressure. Hearing the receptionist on the phone with what sounded like the Owner or Management saying that some of the techs were complaining and moaning about getting cars in to work on is not something you want to hear as a customer. Seeing the tech take my car and brake over and over aggressively as hell while loading my car to look at it was uncalled for. Never ever coming back here. Not even if I was dying and needed a cup of water. Learn to respect peoples cars.
