I was buying a used car and chose VN to do a pre-purchase inspection. I called a few other places first but they were charging far too much or just unsure of how many labor hours it would take to do the look-over. VN presented no such gray area- they knew exactly what to do and how much to charge. They gave me a thorough check-list of everything they tested with handwritten notes. They definitely seemed very experienced. I recommend them for sure.

I came back to this place every 6 months for oil change, maintenance, bulb changes etc. in the last 2 years.Fair price, professional, patient, friendly. Everything you want from an auto service.

Superb!Doug is professional, courteous & top notch in his skill. His crew follows his lead & they all care how their work is done.Highly recommend.(However, just don't make him too busy that he can't service my cars anymore!)

Highly highly recommend VN auto repair. I ran over a pipe on the turnpike and damage all sorts of stuff under my car. They help me fix the oil pan and checked for other damage. They went above and beyond and also washed the underside of the car for me and did a test drive to make sure everything was working. They changed out my oil and oil filter with the ones I provided. They also took the time to answer my very many questions I had and were very patient. Their prices were very fair after I compared with similar mechanics in the area and they didn't upsell me. They are also one of a few shops around Edison/Metuchen that work with NJM insurance. Would definitely come again

Very friendly, very helpful, knowledgeable. Went to VN for a diagnosis to locate a non-critical yet annoying issue going on with my car. Doug took the time to listen, test drive with me, then inspect to find the cause. Doug and Chris located the problem, repaired it, and test drove it with me again. Problem solved. Excellent service! I would use them again with confidence. 5 star.

Had breaks and rotors replaced . Bought my own parts from Napa. The mechanics found an issue in one of the brakes. They were. Ice enough to give me a ride to the Napa to have my parts replaced.Overall Doug Dang was quiet professional and very helpful. I think I've found my mechanic. He made good recommendations. Since I have worked on my car before, I know that they're on point. I'll definitely coming back here to fix my other car issues.I will have no problems recommending him for breaks and rotors replacements. Pricing is fair. I like to do my own research for the parts and order them from NaPA.Doug will never steer you in the wrong direction.

I went with VN auto service because Doug has worked at Honda for decades and knows the Honda car brand inside and out. Gave him a call about my car having issues. He diagnosed the issue and suggested to me the best way to fix it and the most expensive way to fix it. He was straight up and honest with me and suggested the best (and cheapest/practical way) to fix my vehicle. He even knew all the known problems of my Honda and the dealership issues and dealership fixes. VN does all of this in house. And VN has a hookup with Honda brand parts from the dealershipGot my vehicle back in the road within a day and he talked with me for repair options for my car and what to look out for in the future after the fix he did. Not every mechanic will do that for you. The dealership certainly won t do that for you. AND. He even fixed my brake light that I had no idea was faulty free of charge. I can t begin to thank Doug and everyone at VN auto for their hard honest work. Will for sure be back in the futureIf you have a Honda or Acura, do NOT hesitate to go here!

Extremely budget friendly, Hand-On/Mom-and-pop feel auto service. I gave my car to the owner to fix an unknown issue dealing with my engine and he diagnosed the problem and text me pictures of what was broken and how much it will be. When I told him that I was on a budget and couldn't afford a very important fix he performed the job anyway no charge. Very professional, Very kind man that values customer service. I took my 2004 Volkswagen R32 here to get my flex pipe (downpipe) replaced. I expected to pick it up a few days later, but I got a call back at the end of the day to pick it up. Very clean and organized auto shop.Doug, the owner is a very knowledgeable mechanic on all fronts. He saved me from getting ripped off from a dealership on route 1. Asked Doug if he can do a PPI (Pre purchase Inspection) on a used BMW I was going to purchase. He lifted the car up and immediately identified all the leaks and even showed me on how the dealership tried to temporarily hide it. Doug, the owner and his partner is very knowledgeable, honest and friendly. When I had my 2007 MDX in for maintenance Doug diagnosed the problem while I was there and explained and showed me what repairs would be needed, working with me on costs explaining which should be done and what could be held off for a later time. I went ahead with the repairs because I wanted to get it done. He'd also fixed a new leak I've seen a week later under warranty. My experience from this repair was so positive that I've also brought in my 2011 MB because of a check engine light that he has taken care of. Again like another reviewer's post sent me pictures of the problems before starting the work. I've never gotten this type of service from any of my experiences from other auto maintenance shops nor, god for bid the dealerships service dept. I will continue to give my Buisness to Dough and his partner when the need arises.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

The shop is a very solid place, where the people know what they are doing. They are helpful in every way and do not try to scam you like most of the car shops do nowadays. They re attitude is very communicative and kind and you will not regret getting your car worked upon by them any day. Give this place a shot and you def wouldn t regret
