Been coming to Prestige for over 20 years. Simply put Prestige is Always accommodating, extremely knowledgeable & thorough. Jim & his team take the time to explain in detail what is needed/recommended. I can depend on their honesty as well as the excellent quality of work. .

Prestige Auto Repair has serviced my cars for 15 years. They always have my best interests at heart making sure my cars are safe and reliable. They keep me updated throughout the day so there are never any surprises when I pick up my car. The convenience of loaner cars is a godsend. What a fantastic job they did! After dealership gave me a run around and ripped me off, the guys got my 10+ year old car diagnosed and fixed quickly and at a fair, reasonable price. Great job - highly recommend!

This was our first time and for sure we will be back for all of our car needs to Prestige. They took care of both our cars with routine maintenance and explained things that we need to look out for.. nice to have reliable and reasonable, local mechanic shop.

This place is terrible. First n foremost paying $200 for an oil change is the one and only time I ll ever do that. Recommended me new brake pads. When the pads are literally 2 months old. As well my car developed a vibration /noise come to see that a tie rod was broken loose :/ immediately after accepting my vehicle. They had everything that was in my dash console laid on the floor as if they were reading all through it. You can see the fake in both the owners smiles, and that they re just there to make a profit off of the wealthy town they work in. Would recommend any other shop but this one

the Audi had an oil leak.on Jan 31 Prestige replaced the vacuum pump for $1396 to fix the leak.after the work was done, i noticed oil was still leaking.i made a 2nd appointment at Prestige for March 12.on March 12 Jimmy at Prestige told me "a lot of oil. we started the car and heard a whistle . oil level was over full."i said "you added 2.5 qts of oil Jan 31." if the oil was over full, it was the fault of Prestige.i never heard a whistle when i started the car after Jan 31.Jimmy also said "no sign of oil coming from the vacuum pump which is good. At the back of the engine there's an octagon shape where the engine connects to the transmission shaft. this is the rear main seal of the engine. if this is bad it's expensive to fix. we would have to drop the transmission."Jimmy said "the crank case vent valve is bad. it will cost about $300 to replace. too much pressure. the pressure is pushing the oil past the seal."on March 12, Prestige replaced the crank case vent valve. instead of $300 it cost $744.45.Prestige drained and measured the oil. the Audi is supposed to have 4 qts. it had 5.5 qts.they cleaned and degreased the engine, again.Prestige overfilled the oil on Jan 31. could this have cause the crank case valve to fail?the photo shows the oil is still leaking. the top of the picture is toward the front of the car.i don't want to have Prestige try again. Are you willing to refund any of the $2,140.57 which is the cost of the work that was done?sincerely,carol weismann

Top notch! Took car in for an oil change. They did it and said the battery tested dead. I told my friend and he said you might be getting the blonde girl treatment . didn t replace it. Ran down the shore battery died. So, they will be my mechanics for life!

My wife came to Prestige in need of an Oil Change, State Inspection and Fuel Pump Replacement. She was verbally quoted $1200 (first mistake in not getting a paper quote).She was told that due to the age of her car, 2011 Hyundai Sonata, some rusted parts were found that took a little longer to deal with, which she gave permission for.When she arrived to pick up her car, she was shocked to see her final bill was $1950.Upon looking at the breakdown of her receipt a few things stuck out to me.First, they charged $867 for the fuel pump part alone. This is inexplicably high, multiple searches show this to be $123-$286 (rockauto). Even genuine replacements are $500-$550 (oemhyundaiparts). I cross referenced these prices with a professional mechanic friend and he confirmed this is outrageous.Second, a $105 charge to use a scan tool to figure out the error code a car uses to identify a problem is ridiculous.Third, although a small detail the oil change labor was $70 which is high for what it is but in the line item description, vehicle inspection details were included. Then, in a separate line item of $0 (to make it seem like they did a generous thing) it reads "Complimentary Vehicle Inspection" even though the charge was lumped in with the oil change labor.Fourth, there is a "Fee" of $99 tacked on at the end of the bill with no explanation of what that fee actually is.They have taken the classic route of taking advantage of a girl at a mechanic and it is unethical and disappointing. I know there are a lot of people with money in Bernardsville and surrounding areas that wouldn't bat an eye at this but I'm surprised that they would come across someone with a 12 year old car and try their predatory tactics on her.Those that come here regularly, check your receipts and cross-reference your line items to make sure you aren't being taken advantage of too.

Look into using another auto body shop to have any service! Took my Nissan SUV in with loud brake sounds. My SUV had almost 40K miles on it. They called me and suggested I need wheel bearing assembly which would be over 1,000. Plus new battery, oil change, and new brakes. I told them not to the wheel bearing assembly until I called Nissan to ask if it would be covered with a warranty. It was covered by my warranty and I could have easily paid them to do the work. I feel it would have been way more honest and trustworthy for a repair shop to suggest an owner check first with the dealership if it would be covered before they do any work. Many times one might not remember or know if they have an extended warranty. I picked up the car and brought it directly to Nissan to fix the wheel assembly. I decided to check with the Nissan dealership on with itemized receipt I received from Prestige since the bill was so expensive at 1,600.00. Comparing each item I was shocked at how much more Prestige was. I spent almost 600.00 more than if I had the Nissan dealership perform the same work. When I called to speak to the owner to see if they would make some adjustments to being so overcharged. He was very defensive and had an excuse and many reasons he felt why they charged so much more. I also brought up the point that the mechanics should ask the customers to call their dealerships to inquire if items would be covered under warranty prior to doing any work and changing customers. He said it was up to the owners to know that. I feel he was very much not apologetic or understanding at all. I will not be using them any longer and I have 3 cars that I was bringing to the spot. It is much cheaper to use a dealership or find a place that would be more honest and upfront with its customers and not try to pad the bill. In addition who knows if I needed all that work to begin with. I think they just feel they can get away with whatever as they have in the [past with me This time since I was at the dealership and asked what they charge which brought this to light. The folks at Prestige have always done an excellent job for us and have gone above and beyond to help us out when we have issues with our car. I couldn t recommend them more. I needed to replace all four tires quickly. I found the tires online and they were shipped directly to Prestige who was in the online retailers installer database. Prestige quickly notified me when the tires arrived, scheduled the service for the next morning and had the car ready that afternoon. I couldn t be happier, and they are very friendly. Prestige Auto Repair is great. We just moved to the area a few months ago and were referred by friends who have used them for years. Prestige has worked on 2 of our vehicles so far, and I have found them to be honest, professional, pleasant to deal with and reasonably priced. They also completed the work in the expected timeframe and took the time to explain both what they did and what may need to be done in the future. A great place, highly recommended. I have been going Prestige Auto Repair for many years now and have never been disappointed. They even fixed the problem with engine warning light that my car dealer couldn t fix after many tries. The staff there are courteous and clearly explain the problem(s) with your car.
