Chris Jones at Speed of Sound does all the things that a professional salesperson should do but seem to be a rarity these days. Not only does he give you his undivided attention with excellent product knowledge but he truly makes you feel that he places the highest value on earning your business. After my install I left Speed of Sound with the peace of mind knowing that I could not have possibly received better service, or been more satisfied, by going somewhere else. Do not go there. We bought around $1000.00 worth of Focal equipment for my son's 1965 Ford Mustang restoration project. I asked the owner if he minded if we installed the equipment ourselves since it was a father and son project, he said he didn't mind. Believe me he minded! A real Jekyll& Hyde.When we got home I opened the box to look at the speakers and noticed that one of the wires was pulled out of the tweeter. The minute I called them I was met with attitude. He said, with a pissy attitude, that's why I should have done the install! That he would try and fix it himself. We just spent $260.00 on speakers he would "try" to fix himself. I was not happy with having a repair done on a brand new set of Focal speakers ,but whatever, because he was the only game in town so I just tried to keep the peace.On my way to his shop with faulty speakers I called and asked how much to install a Drone mobile device, $500. I told that when I got to his shop I would schedule the DM install for the following week. When I got to the store I was again subjected to his attitude. He told me flat out that I damaged the speaker, it's not possible it came that way. So he flat out called me a liar. Once you do that I'm done with you. I told him I should have bought my equipment from Best Buy or Crutchfield because they most certainly wouldn't have called me a liar and would have simply replaced the item. I have a friend who installs his own equipment and he stated the he has returned items to Crutchfield with no questions asked. I spoke to other people who have issues with him in the past. In addition he has been in 8 different locations. So what does that tell you. Friends recommend Capitol Audio in Epsom and they are getting all my work, 2 Drone Mobile installations and a complete install of equipment in my son's 1965 Mustang for roughly a total of $2200.00. I know Capitol Audio is a little out of the way for us on the seacoast but they are extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Capitol Audio has already installed the first DM and next project is the stereo installation on my sons 65 Mustang. In the end l told the owner that I was done with him and will eat the cost of the speakers and left them there. So he made money on the deal. He has my $260.00 and now he can return the speakers to Crutchfield and pocket another $260.00 or a free set of speakers. Maybe he's a good business man after all.

Very happy with my service from speed of sound. I upgraded the head unit in my 26 year old Land Cruiser. Complicated job from my understanding and another shop said no way they would do it but Speed of Sound said no problem!!Chris listened to what I wanted and appears to have had a great attention to detail with the install it all turned out great!!

Watch out for speed of sound! They call the competition and instead of favoring that lower price they still charge you full price and talk competitors into also charging their price!!! No stars from me but I had to give one to post!

Called to price a fob and they said $350. I said that they are $100 at another store, no thanks. Went to the other store and they had called ahead and told them to raise they're prices. What a skanky thing to do! Will never do business with them. Zero stars.

Hey, we got problems here. We're small business owners too, and we all deserve to be cut some slack because staffing is tough, but this guy can't tell the truth to save his life. Different story every time. We now have two vehicles that can't be repaired because when he explained everything to us he wasn't honest about what he understood in the directions, and now the vehicle warranties are voided so GM won't fix them. And then the dealer tells us how many other customers he's had who also used this joker and wrecked their systems, so obviously he knew this issue was present. He just sold us a snake oil song one day to make some quick bucks, and I admit we fell for it, but then he went back on his word about guaranteeing his work and not stopping until the job was done right. And he's already done this to other customers! BE CAREFUL WITH THIS GUY.

I really appreciate these guys. Not only did they turn my awful radio into an excellent one, they even re-checked the wiring for FREE and did a battery test when one of my ground cables crapped the bed. Some of the nicest people in customer service you can ever meet.

I was in need of a stereo, a backup camera and some speakers for a vehicle of mine. Admittedly it had been a few years since I was shopping for something like that I immediately thought Best Buy was the place to go, boy was I wrong So I took that trip and realized that Best Buy is phasing all of this stuff out and their shelf s were scarcely scattered with open boxes and very limited product. A quick google search and I was off to Speed of Sound in Somersworth. I was met with great customer service, a very knowledgeable staff and everything I needed for my project in stock. They were able to answer all of my questions and make some excellent recommendations for my project. Coincidentally my dog ate one of my new ram truck fobs that day and they were able to get me a new one programmed as well. If you are in need of anything audio/video/smart key/remote start related for something that has wheels, tracks or propellers - give them a shot, they earned a lifetime customer in me. I literally never write reviews but I wanted to make sure to do it this time because they deserve it. Thanks guys!

Speed of sound did an amazing job when my radio completely died. They were super flexible and had amazing customer service. Also my radio has never sounded this good especially for the fair price.

Great folks! Great products! Great service!We had a remote start installed in our son's car. Everything was taken care of just as promised. They even helped my husband with the fob to his remote start (which he had put off dealing with). They also helped us change a battery in the spare key to my car.This wasn't our first install with them and it won't be our last.

Great guys, and super knowledgeable! I had an issue with an install from a different company, and regret going to that place. Speed of Sound brought me in quickly, and took care of my issue immediately while not breaking the bank. They have earned any and all of my business moving forward!

Fantastic as always. This was our 4th remote starter with speed of sound over 15 years or so. They got the car in quickly and were actually able to pick the vehicle up from work and drop it back off. Went with the cell starter this time and it works as expected. Install was clean. Car was back before it was time to leave work. They followed up to ensure I had the app working and that we were all set.

I tried to install a steering wheel function adapter by myself and it didn't go as planned. Brought my truck in to Speed of Sound, and thankfully Chris and his team were able to do a much better job than I ever could have! They were super friendly, and efficient, and provided a fantastic customer service experience. I'll definitely be back for remote start sometime in the future!

Went in to have my radio checked out and they discovered it was the wrong interface. They got it working. I ended up buying an amp, a sub and box. Chris price matched a really nice speaker so I got it. Very knowledgeable and definitely know what they're doing! Would recommend to anyone who needs stereo advice or help to this place! Thanks guys, system sounds great!

I was looking for a wire harness for my new radio for my car. I stopped at several different auto parts stores and didn t have any luck until I stopped by here. They were able to find the exact part I needed and even connected every thing for me, so all I had to do was plug it in. They were very knowledgeable and helped explain how everything went together. Very pleased with them.

Autosound customer service is beyond reproach. Responded to my email immediately. Had me scheduled for a service visit at my work within 3 hours. Fixed the issue in 30 minutes. On-site tech was quick, efficient and professional.Thank you guys

Whenever we need anything done for our cars sound system (and even for a few remote starters!) we call Chris. He always treats us well and provides professional installation at a reasonable price. Highly recommend his shop.

Seriously one of the best sales experiences I've ever had. Went in looking to replace my car radio. Didn't know anything about it at all. The sales guy was amazing and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want/need. He answered all my questions and gave relevant personal insight to help me choose options. The process was quick and painless and he came in priced significantly lower than others. They even put my cell phone holder back after they were done :) . I still need more stuff done and my boyfriend does to so we will be going back.

Chris basically re installed our remote starter that our dealership had disconnected doing an airbag recall. He worked at least 1/2 hr, replacing wires, reconnecting things. He was friendly,very professional, and refused to charge or take anything from me.Very good feeling about this place
