I've become a coffee snob over the years. I get great beans and own a fancy grinder to grind them fresh for every cup. So I feel there's not a whole lot of room left to be surprised at how much better coffee could taste. Until I took my first sip at La Mulita. I don't know what they do, or if donkeys are somehow involved, but their coffee is outstanding.

The best cup of coffee on the Seacoast and it's not even close. Arguably one of the best cups of coffee you'll ever have. La Mulita raised the bar for every shop nearby and has quickly become the #1 shop for locals looking to start their morning off right. The coffee is roasted properly, sourced from amazing farms in South America, and tastes full bodied and strong yet not bitter. To top it all off, the staff are absolutely amazing. 10 out of 5 stars. Go here.

Absolutely incredible coffee sourced from the most quality growers. The coffee is roasted right here and it tastes divine. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and the vibe is incredibly chill. By the star of the show is definitely the quality coffee. Enjoy a cup or ten.

Great vibes, cool atmosphere. The maple latte with oat milk was good, the flavor wasn t overwhelming, I wonder how it would have been with whole milk. The hot chocolate was really good with the steamed milk, and some latte art that my mom messed up before I took the picture haha. Good coffee, worth the stop!

The best coffee on the seacoast and likely the best coffee I ve had. I brew their coffee at home daily as well as get an espresso drink in house 1x/week. You truly get what you pay for as in you could pay roughly the same price somewhere else for a lesser quality cup. The coffee is rich tasting and of high quality. The owner is personable and the staff are always friendly.

I visited on an invitation from an answer on an online question about if they served pastries with thier coffee . The answer was yes! They have doughnuts, bagels and muffins. Local newspaper available to feed your brain.I had an Americano with a glazed doughnut. Shh! Don't tell my diet! Both were good! Indoor seating and WiFi available. Decent amount of parking . Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Place was busy! Bags of coffee available for purchase along with store line clothing and mugs. Website for online orders.Returned after reading an article in the Seacoast Scene paper about La Mulita Coffee. Had a coffee with Monkey Bread and a read of the newspaper. Relaxing! Bathroom was in good shape. I gave a staff member a copy of the Seacoast Scene with the article about the buisness.I recommend a visit!

Absolutely the best coffee in Portsmouth!! We went in for lattes and came out with 2 bags of coffee beans and an extra Americano. Their coffee is so smooth, I had mine w/o sugar. They use a lot of precision to make every expresso shot. They weigh the right amount of coffee grounds and pressed it evenlying so the coffee brews evenlying for an amazing taste. Just a superd experience! Their pastries were really good and loved that they had gluten-free as well. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome.

Could this place be any cuter and nicer? Very tastefully designed a cool, hip coffee place. Every barista works here knows what to suggest, with the way you could like. The owner makes you feel like they have known you forever. When I was here, many of the locals have came and they were each treated like family. The owner is actually Colombian and he is going for coffee trips to Colombia to select the best coffee possible, and it really shows! I am sure we will come here more frequently and may not even mind the 1.5 hours of travel from Boston just to drink good coffee!

La Mulita is the kind of place that makes you want to move closer to it so you can visit all the time. The coffee is amazing and the people are even better. I m not just talking about Max and his team - the community of followers and coffee drinkers they ve built is friendly, open, and welcoming. Go here for the coffee and stay because it feels like home.

It s hard to leave an unbiased review because Max, the owner, is just the absolute best. But truly - the coffee here is so good that it kind of ruined all other coffee for me. Max cares so much about the coffee, the farms he gets it from, the roasting process, the way it s brewed, his lovely staff and it really shows. You won t understand the difference all this makes until you try it yourself - so if you haven t already, go get a cup :) Also - I exclusively use his espresso beans to make my at-home-lattes, and it makes a huge difference!

La Mulita is a destination cup of coffee. I used to live right down the road and was so lucky. Now 25 minutes away I look forward to anytime I m in the area or making a special trip (thankfully they ship beans!). Couple that with the dedication and friendliness of Max and his team it deserves to be put on the pantheon of roasters.

My husband is super picky when it comes to espresso & has had a hard time finding a good local roaster that meets his standards. He LOVED La Mulita's espresso!

No exaggeration, we drive close to 20 miles--each way!--for the amazing coffee, once or twice a week, in this charming and rustic place. No matter how busy it gets, the owner and friendly staff seem genuinely thrilled to greet customers, often by name. There are occasionally bagels, donuts, and other pastries from local bakeries, some GF, but they go fast. Grab a pack of coffee beans to take home, roasted on the premises. I challenge you to find better coffee anywhere.

Super dangerous that I've discovered La Mulita at the end of my street. Friendly staff, never too long of a wait, they obviously take care into crafting espresso drinks (espresso always tasty and dialed in, syrups and shots weighed, etc.), multiple roasts available for brewed coffee, and bags of coffee available for a more affordable price than bigger name quality roasters.

Small w outdoor spots to enjoy.A limited selection of items. All of them excellent. Wide variety of coffee but it was the bakery that has limited, but terrific pastries. It is primarily a coffee company and very nice, earthy feel.

La Mulita is easily one of the best coffee shops I have ever been to. Fantastic specialty coffee that really deserves that name, unlike many others. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, we immediately felt right at home. I'll have to find out what shipping fees to Germany are so I can enjoy their delicious coffee at home too!

Glad to see this spot getting the proper 5/5 star overall. Lovely space. Nice staff and an excellent, excellent latte. Taking the time to make a nice espresso, using quality ingredients and putting out good latte art isn t always the main focus of shops, but boy is it nice when it happens. Great job guys!
