This was my first time using Vinny s. A friend recommended them to me. I will definitely return. Dominic is professional and a very knowledgeable mechanic. He clearly explained what needed to be done and fixed the issue with my car right away that same day at a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend them.

We have been going to Vinny's for years. First Vinny who was great and now his son Dominic. Dominic has always been knowledgeable, efficient and has always shown integrity. I highly recommend going to Vinny's.

I normally do all my own work, but this time it was beyond my ability. Two other mechanics quoted $3500 for the repair. Then I set an appointment with Dominic (the owner). He was very easy to talk with, respectful and knowledgeable. He gave me a very competitive quote for the diagnosis (about half that of others). He researched and investigated the problem, explained what he would do and what my options were. I did as he suggested and completed the repair in about 2 hours and cost about $100 in parts. He really knows his stuff and is out to help his customers. Imagine if everyone was this honest and helpful!!Thank YOU Dominic!

My guys had a truck without heat in Reno and I'm located in St. Louis, MO. I was hesitant about getting ripped off because I didn't know the area and what shops were honest. Dominic took care of fixing the heat on my truck. Instead of just replacing the heater core, like most places would have done, he flushed the core multiple times to get it working as it should. Dominic is a stand up guy. I wouldn't hesitate taking any vehicle to Vinny's.

I was having intermittent brake issues on my Honda Accord, got a new master cylinder put in at a "national chain" but the issue returned a few months later. They couldn't diagnose and recommended I take it to the dealer. The Honda dealer here eventually diagnosed it as a failed abs module after charging almost 200$ to bleed the brakes twice. The problem on my specific model/year/trim was that the part was 1600 new, and would be more than 2k installed. Just too much money to spend on an older car if I can avoid it. I called around a few shops to see if there were alternate options with a used/rebuilt part without luck, shops either didn't want to do what I was asking or sounded clueless on the phone.Eventually gave Vinny's a call and Dominic was the first person I talked to that understood the issue and knew what he was talking about. After discussing the issue, and the things that were done trying to fix it he suggested he could check a few other things first, but if it turned out to be the ABS module he could source and install a used, warrantied part for a fraction of what the dealer wanted. It did end up being the abs module and they were able to install a used one and save me a bunch of money.Vinny's automotive seems to be one of the few shops out there that want to fix things the right way for you, but also save you money if they can. They are very knowledgeable, resourceful, honest, and explain things very well.I also had them look at a minor issue on a truck I was borrowing while my car was unsafe to drive, they spent about twenty minutes checking into it, tightening something down and sent me on my way no charge while they looked into a more permanent fix to suggest to the owner.

I have been doing business with Vinny's for about three years. In all of my fix-it experiences, they have been professional, personable, honest and respectful. I used to do my own repairs, however age and new technologies have put a stop to most of that. I appreciate the way Dominique explains how the newer systems work and what can typically go wrong. Furthermore, I appreciate the time they take to diagnose problems which mostly brings about fixing it right the first time. I have recommended them to several of my friends.

Very pleased with this establishment! I waited to do the review for 6 months. Just to be sure. There have been no concerns. Everyone at Vinny's was great to work with. I median hopped my Subaru. With quite a bit of damage, they went out of the way to have the job done within the week. Crystal was always keeping in touch with me on the progress. The service was stellar. I recommend this shop, and I will be back

This was my first experience with Vinnys, it was a refreshing change. Dominic was very professional and treated me great. He took care of all of the issues on my vehicle and let me know what else needed attention. I've had nothing but bad luck with local mechanics the last several years. James at Vinny's was super helpful. He was in constant contact about my daughters truck and gave me what needed to be done as well as how to pay for it. I would Highly recommend Vinny's Automotive for fair pricing and great communications. It is nice to find a great place to work on your vehicles in Reno. Vinny's is great place to take your car. They are able to schedule appointments in a timely manner, complete work within the time frame they give you, and have reasonable prices. They are always friendly and answer all of my questions. They send an online inspection report with an explanation of repairs needed and provide pictures too. They also call to go over the report with you. Seriously, this place is awesome. If you are looking for a reliable & trustworthy shop, this is the place.

Compared to the "chain" shops or worse the dealerships, these guys are helpful knowledgeable and most importantly to me HONEST. Everyone I have dealt with has friendly and I'm always treated like my time is as valuable as theirs. Great service at competitive prices. I go to Vinny's exclusively now.UpdateI am still beyond happy with Vinny's Automotive. The honesty is what keeps me coming back.If I don't need something done that in my absolute lack of knowledge I really think I need, they alway's let me know, very politely, that maybe it isn't necessary. They also do not hesitate to let you know what is going on and make helpful suggestions. The work done here is top notch and everyone is pleasant to deal with.

I had a great experience taking my car into Vinny s! They were super friendly and gave me a great quote. The work they had to get done was finished in a day! Vinny's was fantastic. I have an electric vehicle and most smaller mechanics refuse to work on them. Not only did Vinny's agree to work on the car, they told me they are excited to start working on more EVs in the future! The issue turned out not to be related to the EV powertrain but they did a fantastic job and I will definitely be using them again. Work was completed ahead of schedule and under budget!Service: Steering & suspension repair

I emailed on Tuesday after memorial day with my issue and they responded with a better quote than another shop and were able to get me in on Thursday of the same week. Can't say enough about their customer service, professionalism, quality work and customer satisfaction. Thank you very much. I will make this my preferred shop to have my 2010 tundra worked on.

I have been taking my vehicles both from business and personal to Vinny's for a number of years and the first thought that come to mind is honest and dependable. As a purchasing agent I often price out all services and Vinny's has always made the right recommendations, keeping our budget in mind. I would recommend them to anyone looking for honest dependable service.

I m editing my review because of my experience. I originally rated Vinnys s with 5 stars but I do not feel the same way as I originally did. I ve spent over $1k to have a complete brake job done. My car literally shakes every time I brake. I brought this to their attention TWICE. The problem was never fixed and I was just given the run around with this issue. I brought my car in so they could check it out and who knows what they even did because my car still feels the same. One of the guys there let me know that he has to find drilled an slotted rotors for my car which can t be that hard to find to begin with. The rotors they put on my car aren t even for my car and it shows. He basically told me they couldn t get the ones I needed so they just put something on there to get me by? Is this not dangerous especially when it comes to my brakes?Now I have to go waste money somewhere else to get a proper brake job. Really I m just disappointed because I thought I could put my trust in these guys.

I saw a post on FB about Vinny's services and how thorough the mechanics are and how long they have been in business here in Sparks. I took my vehicle to them and was I very pleased their service, honesty, and quality. I will used them in the future.

I have had my 94 van to Vinny's anytime it needed service while living in Reno and found them to be honest, reliable and skilled mechanics. Previous van owner suggested them and I am so glad as I am always happy with their work.

I was a first-timer, referred by a friend. In a nutshell: simply excellent. Dominic discussed with me various options for handling my situation. Once we decided on a repair plan, he kept me informed and was true to his estimate. Vinny s is now my go-to automotive repair shop.

I have been going to Vinnie's Automotive for 4 years now and I have trusted Dominic and his team with every car we own; from classis to new. 1973 International Harvester, Lexus, Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, and VW Phaeton. He is honest and upfront every time, If the boy told a lie I think his tongue with snap off. Dominic and his team work to find the best pricing and parts and will try to save you money instead of trying to add on items just to get the bill up. Just try Vinnie's one time and you will be hooked.
