I have gone to them a few times and never had good service. They once told me that I needed replacements on parts my car didn't have. They will double charge for things. Most of the positive reviews are for the receptionist girls, not for the work done or the mechanics.A buddy had his car break down just before the turn into their lot so we pushed it. There wasn't a car in the lot but the entire crew stood out their laughing as we pushed it into them. 6 days, 3 total visits, and 4 trial and error solutions later the car was 'fixed' for a week before the same problem happened.Ed is the worst. Avoid going here.

Kendra was a wonderful service representative and helped me get a nail out of my tire so I could get back to Arizona safely. Also the mechanic Brendon was so kind to me and I love the energy of the place. 100/10

Nicole has been the one to greet me and check me in and out several times now! She is always incredibly pleasant and helpful. The fellas who work on my car have been phenomenal every time, I am very grateful to have found a location that is reliable and friendly for my oil changes. Thank you so much, Prater Pep Boys team!! Nicole at the front desk is AMAZING! she takes her time and explains everything to you and provides an accurate estimate for the work that needs to get done. Mechanics are knowledgeable and honest as well and treat your car as their own! Highly recommend their services!

Great crew! Got my vehicle in fast. They were knowledgeable and personable. Shout out to Nicole for keeping her cool even when the alarm system would have driven anyone crazy, snd shout out to Julia, Kenny Sr, and Kenny Jr for taking care of my baby and getting her right for the road!

Nicole at the front desk was so amazing. She took care of me like no one s business. Went out of her way to make sure things were done. The service i received is where all places should take care of their customers. I ll definitely be going back. Give this girl a raise. I appreciate great customer service and I got that.

I was taken care for a flat repair today.For a simple as it may seem the crew was courteous and diligent. One of the tech was even apologetic for thinking he had lost a lug nut which was totally on me previously and they were willing to take care of it right away.Of course I let them know it was totally on me and not them. But I appreciate the attention and the honesty. That goes a long way.

I brought my tire in to get it repaired. Kenny and Julia were a great help. Was expecting to get charged for my tire but they did not charge me. This happened right before Christmas and was a huge favour. They made my day and would recommend this place to anymore. Very good people with good hearts.

Ordered last minute and was accepted for appointment at 430pm. Julia was very prompt and courteous. When she realized they were out of stock for what I needed and had no time to wait for shipment her and Kenny went approve and beyond to help get me the best deal and stay late to make the best accomodations to get me on the road. I am very grateful for there attentiveness and prompt services. The main tire installer was not in and Kenny and Kenny Jr still helped me and installed tired for me. Julia was very helpful in helping me with financial assistance as I was not prepared to pay more the I planned. I will recommend these guys to any and all my friends and family. I want to give a 5 star rating to them and the company. Thanks bunches and bless you all.

Zane deserves a raise. Best mechanic i've ever met in my life besides myself. He truly cares about what he does. Julia is very polite and professional straight to business has a great sense of humor. I give this shop an experience a 100 star rating. Definitely recoamend to anyone who needs car work done very reasonablyis iced very fast service.

I recently made the mistake of buying a car through Carvana and have had nonstop issues with it. Nicole and her team have been helping me battle through the warranty hurdles to help get everything fixed. It s been a long process, but they have been very friendly and helpful through the stress and have cheered me up and made me laugh along the way. Good people, much appreciated.

Set an appointment a week ago just for a basic oil change and tire rotation. Come in 15 mins prior to my appointment and assumed I would just drop off and then wander for the hour it takes to get everything done. I am then told once at the shop that it'll be 3 hours before they can even look at it. What's the point of making an appointment if it's not going to be honored? Highly recommend another place besides here, they obviously didn't want me to leave my vehicle here

I took my car in last year for a scraping sound it was making. Pep Boys told me I needed replacement wheel bearings. I had them replaced, but my car was making the same noise within a day of leaving the shop. I took it back and they told me they only did one side because "that's all I asked for", which was not true. I had already spent a ton of money on just the one side (plus new tires and other services) and thought I was getting a full service, but really it was only half? I'm being honest, the workers did not seem like they knew what they were talking about. I don't know much about cars, but they were tripping over their words and kept explaining things in a way that contradicted what they had said before.I could not afford to get the other side done so I just left without my car being completely serviced. The sound was minor to begin with and would only occur occasionally, but became progressively worse. Significant scraping now. Yesterday I took it to Pep Boys in Reno, and unknowing that my last service was at Pep Boys in Sparks (because apparently tracking things in their system is impossible), they told me that the last shop I took it to completely put my car together wrong and that is what was causing the issue. I explained the situation, and they called the Sparks store, who when looked in their system told them I had both wheel bearings done (???) but then sent the paperwork that only reflected the service on one side...?I need new brakes and rotors that I am paying for, but the Reno store is fixing the Sparks store's error for free. But now I kind of want my money back that I paid for the service at the Sparks store, since I paid them for a service they did not properly complete and could have caused a lot of damage to my vehicle.I will be leaving a positive review for the Reno location, but DO NOT take your car to Sparks Pep Boys.

Went in for a simple tire mount and balance. Got there and was told i wasnt in their system gor an appointment, gor past that and got me in.They broke a tpms sensor. Found one that "seemed to fit" and installed it. Once got the vehicle home new tires looked flat had hardly any air in them. I had a matching set of Valve stem covers and only 3 came back on the truck the 4th was a generic cap. Now my truck is throwing codes and saying tire pressure monitoring system malfunction. Would not recommend to anyone.

I had my radiator hose replaced on Friday and still have same issue. Actually the new hose was leaking & spewing coolant in engine compartment. I immediately returned my vehicle on Saturday and the next available day to redo work is Tuesday - due to no technician. I am out of my family van for 3 days. This survey is taken today (Monday).

Over $800 to install a strut that cost less than $300. 2 days later, car threw a transmission code. Paid the dealerahip over $200 to tell me someone had been working on my vehicle and didn't plug the speed sensor back in correctly. I wonder who that could have been... Good deal on tires, though.

Julia, Brandon and Anthony were amazing. Saved my day by fixing my flat that I acquired on my way to Reno. Without them and Pep Boys, I would have been stranded and needed a tow back to Fallon.

Posting about an encounter in the public with an employee wearing the company coat whose name is Nicole. I was walking my son to school this morning like every morning and came to the legal crosswalk in front of the elementary school with legal signs clearly posted to tell drivers to yield to pedestrians. The school crossing guard in her safety vest holding the stop sign was in the road when Nicole decided to pull her unregistered Suburban into the road and had to stop to let the crossing guard move to the center of the road before continuing to drive without yielding to the pedestrians in the road. When confronted, she justified her illegal turn with "the crossing guard didn't have her sign up in the air" and then flipped me off. If your employees can't follow basic safety laws or even register their vehicles, I wouldn't trust your company.

Had brakes done here about a year ago. Was not allowed to provide upgraded parts to be installed. Instead paid more that 2x the cost for "OEM" parts. More like the worst, cheapest, lowest grade parts available while charging their weight in gold for them. My brakes sound worse now than when there was no pad left on them. They feel like the old pads are still on the truck. They were not able to provide the old parts when requested Very disappointed.NRS 487.6883 Replaced parts to be delivered to person authorizing repairs if requested; exception.1. Whenever the repair work performed on a motor vehicle requires the replacement of any parts or accessories, the body shop or garage operator shall, at the request of the person authorizing the repairs or any person entitled to possession of the motor vehicle, deliver to the person all parts and accessories replaced as a result of the work done.2. The provisions of subsection 1 do not apply to parts or accessories which must be returned to a manufacturer or distributor under a warranty arrangement or which are subject to exchange, but the customer, on request, is entitled to be shown the warranty parts for which a charge is made.

had a very easy time ordering my new tires online and great to take advantage of the Cooper Tire Buy 3, Get One Free promo plus free installation. Easy to book a same day appointment and really happy with the just over one hour time to get the job done. Barely had time to finish my brunch across the street! Excellent service!

Finally good service and a place I can trust! Nicole took care of me and she was very helpful and considerate. I have been to many shops and private mechanics around town the last 10 years. Most are not worth the time. If you want a reliable place to work on your ride, I highly recommend Pep Boys on Prater.Also side note...if you use Car Advise, they know what they are doing! Most shops don't even know the protocol behind processing Car Advise accounts which can be frustrating when the process was suppose to be easier.
