I had such an amazing experience with this shop! I took my car in for an oil leak. Jason quickly found that I had a crack in my oil filter cover, he was able to get a new part and got me all fixed up very quickly. He was thorough with his work and pricing was very reasonable also! I highly recommend this shop for anything you need for your car. I have finally found my forever shop.

Totally happy with the sales and service. Bought a 1997 Chevy Malibu from Jay s in Reno, drove it to Nothbay where it experienced some engine trouble. James drove all the way with a car carrier and picked up car and repaired it. That is above and beyond anything I could have expected. Car is running great and my daughter is now driving it in Fresno. Thank you James for your outstanding service.

One of the best shops I ve been to! They were communicative and when I told them I needed my car sooner than expected, they made it happen and were so nice about it! I previously stated that the wipers I initially asked for were out of my budget, but they had been changed in error. Since my financing had already been processed, they gave me the wipers for free. I have NEVER heard of a shop doing something like that and I was completely floored by their generosity and understanding. Such a great shop with even better staff!

Took my truck in for 100,000 mile service and they did s wonderful job, quick and documented with photos all the work and gave recommendation of what else would be needed in the future. Very satisfied!!

I couldn't believe what this place wanted to charge me. First it costed $359 for them to look at my car. I was having transmission problems. I bought my Suzuki Kizashi for $6200 6 years ago. Jay's Auto gave me a quote of $10,000.00. I towed my car to Freedom transmission. Freedom Transmission serviced my Kizashi for $245.00. Jay's Auto was terrible in every possible way. I am glad that I took my car elsewhere. I am back driving again thanks to Freedom Transmission.

This shop is pretty awesome. I've got an 80's chevy. None of the shops I called wouldn't even look at my truck. Not only were they willing to work on my truck they squeezed me into their already busy schedule. They've shown me that they care about what they do. I highly recommend Jay's Total Car Care.

Update: My car continued to misfire on cylinder 2, I replaced the (brand new) coil because the one Jay's installed was missing the clip. While changing the coil I found wads of scotch tape in my spark plug casing. I have been pulling SCOTCH TAPE out of my engine all weekend. These are not mechanics, they are clowns.This place is such a joke, they tried to rip me off so bad and completely lied to me. I had a cylinder 2 misfire so I was going to change out my spark plugs. When I removed the ignition coil, I found it was broken, so I had my car towed to their shop. They sent me an estimate and I approved the coil replacement, which is a fairly simple job, I just didn't have the right tools or parts to do it myself. After about an hour, they called me and said that my spark plug was stripped and they needed 4 more hours of labor to fix it. I had previously asked them to replace the spark plug while they had the coil out and the replacement plugs were in my car, so I told them no to the extra labor and to just grab the plug from the passenger seat and swap it out. They agreed and finished the job, or so I thought. I picked up the car and drove it ok for a couple days. Then had the same misfire error I had before. I went under the hood to take a look and turns out they didn't clip the wires on properly, so I fixed the clip hoping that was the problem. Then I started getting a new error code. I checked the spark plugs, the guys at Jay's never replaced my plug. The crusty, 5 year old plug from ford was still in there. What a headache and nightmare these guys are! I was over charged, they tried to rip me off, straight up lied to me and stole my spark plug! 0 stars would be a good rating. I do not recommend!

I had my vehicle towed here in September 2023I wrote an honest review about my negative experience here and within minutes was contacted by the owner.He apologized for how I was treated, overcharged, and the danger I was put in.He assured me that the techs working there that day no longer work there because others had similar experiences.He offered me a full refund in exchange for me changing my review.

My mother in law took her car here and yeah they fixed the problem but they made another problem. The car was making this horrible sound after it was "fixed", my husband took the car back and they said everything was fine, it just needed a boot. They didn't even fix it, just sent my husband on his way. Took the car to the dealership and $2k later the problem is fixed. After spending $5k at Jays. What a joke.

I love this place! And the owner is so rad. Any time I have to bring in my car they have it in and out way faster than they should. I love it here

Took my car in for the check engine light and oil change, first of all their pricing is outrageous. They told me originally the oil leak was only coming from the oil pan gasket, said they replaced them and I was charged for it. However when I picked my car up it was still leaking oil, upon taking it back we waited for nearly 2 hours for them to redo the work they said they had already done. Clearly they had not preformed the services we had paid for prior. Mechanics were very respectful and pleasant to talk to, the receptionist however was very disrespectful and smug, overcharged on various things and communicated very poorly. Overall very unpleasant experience, I would not recommend anyone to get their vechicle serviced here.

Great service, had ignition cylinder that needed replacement. Brought the car in they made sure that they had the right parts. They spent some time to do an inspection of the car to note points of interest. We decided to stick with just the ignition cylinder. They were okay with it. Called us to pick it up and gave the inspection sheet with all the potential repairs for us to check out and it had pictures and references. Is very professional. Everything was seamless and it was as expected.

What a great experience I had at Jay s total car care - James and his team took the best care of me with friendly service, upfront estimate of cost breakdown for repairs and attention to detail - I got a next day appointment. Jason and TJ at the front counter were so helpful friendly and knowledgeable- have been searching for a good mechanic and I just found one!!

This place has ZERO integrity! I spent over $20,000 for my vehicle to be rebuilt. He ordered the wrong suspension and steering column and they want me to sign a waiver to not bad mouth them! Everyone needs to know that Jays Total Car Care are crooks and unqualified. Once he screwed me over, I realized his business license has been revoked since 2017. SHADY!!

Car was overheating. The dealership couldn't get me in for a week so I took it here. The repair was quoted to be nearly $1200 to replace a broken radiator fan. I figured if I was going to be paying that much I may as well take it to my regular dealership. When the dealership took a look, they said it was just a blown fuse. The fan itself is fine. I ended up paying around $250 to fix the issue by the dealership. Really glad that I got a second opinion. The people at Jay's were nice and respectful. I'm sure they would have done the repairs well based on the rest of these reviews. But the repair was a difference of nearly $1, 000... Also they have no parking lot so be sure to park in the alley next to the building.

Spent 20 yrs to figure out how my truck was swimming in the hwy lanes. Gave up with many repair shops. Tried to fix on my own. No joy. Within a day, Jay's Crew solved the problem. Same with the engine repair. They diagnosed a multitude of failed NEW parts! From the shops installed. I installed. So on, and so on. Now it drives AND runs beautiful. I'm driving the rig. In the end we received great service on our vehicle. Recently brought my 2005 Equinox in to repair a coolant leak. Needed to take it back a second time but the leak persisted. I posted my experience and troubles with a recent coolant repair, and the general manager reached out to us immediately. He took care of the matter and made sure that the car was repaired properly. I have had it home a few hours and haven't seen any further leaking. He took our situation very seriously and went above and beyond to make it right. Came in to have someone look at my vehicle and was instead processed into an inspection that was non refundable & not removed if the work was done. The quote for work was outrageous and performed by myself later anyway for a tenth of the price. The inspection cost me $200 & the report looked like an elementary kid wrote it. They wanted to replace things that were ok and didn t address items I wanted looked at. They are ALL about money.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection

Friendly staff, liked that future repairs were listed and prices shown, took towed vehicle in promptly, repair wait time was longer than expected but reasonable. My truck had custom and very old wiring. It caught on fire. I originally took it to another shop but they didn't want to deal with the issues. They recommended Jay's. He and his team were more than willing and highly professional. They replaced everything and did custom wiring for me. They are super polite also. SCAM ALERT Do not go here, they over charge for labor and then return your car with the same problems they charged you for, and told you they fixed. Complete scammers zero integrity, untrustworthy and downright disrespectful

I only have two negative items to bring up about Jay's. It did take a week to get my car fixed; rentals are not cheap. I also feel the owner has some issues dealing with women customers. He prefers to deal directly with males. Women have jobs, vehicles, and credit cards in their name. I think it would help if he took a communication class. With all that being said, my car has not run this good since I bought the vehicle. I have had an engine light on since last year. I spent $2000 at the Pep Boys in Sparks to fix this. They did not fix anything. The mechanical work Jay's did has so far been impeccable. Giving two stars because they did fix the problem, but not without the RUN AROUND!They had my car for over a week for a 2 hr job, charged me for a brake service which I can only think THEY caused. (Coolant in the brake tank?! My brakes would ve been shot if I was driving like that before I took it in.)Every time I called they gave a different answer and cited that they had to get the part from New York ( why it took so long) then in the end they charged me for buying the part from the dealer- errrrrrr I wish I d just gone to the dealer.Ohhh and we had to pay for the whole service BEFORE they did anything. I ve always done half up front- but since they had our money there was no rush on getting it done.Never returning

This place is fantastic! Brandon was so helpful and professional. He helped me plan everything. I had a new engine and transmission and all kinds of stuff done on my truck. He helped me budget and most importantly the communication was on point. Jay, Rachel and of course DAVE! We're so nice! Dave went above and beyond his job and treated my truck as if it was his own! I'd like to express my gratitude. I highly recommend this shop. They're honest and reasonably priced. It's hard to find a honest mechanic nowadays and these guys made me a customer for life! Everything was good until I picked it up and drove home. Mechanics left my coolant cap loose and caused my car to dump all of its coolant out. But after this happened the owner called me and told me to come back and everything would be taken care of no charge and that he would pay me for the coolant I used.

Broke down near Reno. Truck towed to shop do not live in area. Fix water pump trouble in a short time. Very helpful and perfecional staff. Great shop.
