The town of Genoa Nevada. The oldest town in Nevada. Close to Carson City and the Minden/Gardnerville area. The Genoa bar and saloon. It is a one of a kind old time bar. Its' history is rich. The decor and building much the same as a hundred years ago, alebit electricity, juke box, and pool table. The bar counter rigid and worn. Ginger the bartender was friendly and warm. For me a Budweiser and a couple of shots of makers whiskey.Square dancing night across the street. In all a fantastic time. A place you need to visit if you like history and bars with gritParking: Ample free parking lot and both sides of street.

My son and I were cruising around Carson Vally checking out antique shops and ended up in Genoa, Nevada. We hit a couple of shops, and came up empty handed, but it's a cool town at the base of the Eastern Sierra Nevada and I'm glad we went there. Anyway it was about lunch time and we noticed the deli so we decided to catch some lunch. We both decided on the pastrami sandwiches and a soda and the sandwiches did not disappoint, they were delicious. I would recommend trying them out...

A saloon in the tiny town of Genoa. Glad we got off the highway to have a couple of drinks here. There was a pop up vendor serving food also. I did not partake, although my friends did. Something about saloons and pubs that have been around a long time. There's a comfortable feel even though some may appear to be old. The bartender (I think her name was Lindsay, hope I spelled it right) was amazing. At some point the place got slammed and even though she was the only one there and even though one of the pay stations she was using went down, she managed to keep everyone happy, made house cocktails, didn't skip anyone's turn, made sure everyone was happy, and even let my friends and I try some of the local Tahoe Blue vodka for free. Highly recommend! Will definitely come back if I'm around this area again.

Sorry this is not a Bar and Saloon but rather Nevada's oldest Thirst Parlor! The beer was cold, the atmosphere fun and the historical significance of the eclectic decor! One of my favorite parts was the dogs that wander up for a scratch and a treat!

Great drinks, absolutely loved the Lavender Fizz. Very nice bartender who seemed to be the only employee there on a Friday night. All kinds of old signs and things to look at. Outside has an awesome patio with a fireplace.

Cool Saloon with a history, had a couple beers and admired all the vintage wall decorations. Bartender was funny and nice. Lots of outside seating with picnic tables. We were in the area so it was a must see.

Great place to slake your thirst on a chilly January afternoon. Friendly service and great 1800s ambiance. Huge amount of outdoor seating with a porch bar! Specialty cocktails look very refreshing though i just had a Bulleit bourbon.I hear its haunted too!

This is Nevada s oldest thirst parlor. It was established in 1853 inside the walls are covered in historical pictures and artifacts along with variety of burlesque pictures. This is a super fun bar! They have great indoor and outdoor seating. The bartenders are extremely friendly and hard-working. Lots of locals drink here and if you re nice they ll tell you a few stories. They have a great drink selection. I highly recommend the watermelon whiskey sour. This is a must stop if you visit Genoa.

A must see if you visit the oldest settlement in Nevada. Stopped in for a draft and wasn't disappointed. The other patrons were pleasant and welcoming.

Very cool bar with great ambiance. Unfortunately the bartender was rude and ruined our experience.

Love the decor, even though it's very dusty. The two bartenders served drinks and that's it. They barely replied to questions or comments. A great place to stop in for a drink when you're on a trip. - Regina

It's cool to see history being persevered and shared! Grab a drink and read the brochure. The bartender is not going to tell you about the history so just relax and find out yourself. And even if you don't drink, there is so much to look at and admire.

Oldest bar in Nevada. Amber local beer is very good. PB&J is a warm coffee delight. Take the time then unwind.

It's like you're on a movie set. Everything is old and comfortable. Worth a stop just to say you've been at Nevada's Oldest Bar (1853). By the way, it's pronounced 'Jah-NO-a' (don'tcha knowa).

Very cool, funky old saloons. Tge bartenders are all very quick and friendly. Husband and I go there whenever we're in the area (sometimes even when we're not). Lots of history but you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Definitely worth stopping by!

Feels like a taste of history. Great service friendly atmosphere a place that appears hasn't changed for over a hundred years.

The Genoa bar was amazing! This is the oldest bar in Nevada. Lots of old history hanging in the bar and lots to see and take in. Its a tad small inside but the service was quick and fast and most drinks are served. A must visit place to go to if you're in Nevada! Take a walk into history!
