Stafford Automotive is, by far, the friendliest, most skilled mechanic I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. While traveling alone on a long road trip, I had a sudden onset of brake trouble in Nevada midday. I called a few mechanics closer to my location to explain my situation and no one was willing or able to take a look that day, which meant I'd be waylayed.When I called Stafford, they immediately empathized, squeezed me in and their head mechanic took a quick test drive and a look, made a quick adjustment and sent me on my way for an amazing price. It cost me only 30 minutes on my journey and I made it another 900 miles to my destination all smooth sailing without a peep from my brakes. Stafford Saved the day!!! I am forever grateful for their kind and speedy help!

Recently, I had a refurbished engine put in my Chevrolet Tahoe by Stafford Automotive. I couldn't be more pleased with their workmanship. I needed help asap as my truck wasn't safe to run. They were able to figure out the problem quickly. They gave me a fair estimate and completed the work so fast! They were so kind and made sure that i was comfortable with the work i needed. When i picked my truck up they offered suggestion for work i might need in the future but by no means tried to push me. Everyone i had an interaction with so nice and friendly. Fair and honest people. I can't recommend them enough.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

As a single woman and not having a clue as to where to take my vehicle, I was very happy to have found Stafford Automotive. I felt I was treated fairly and not taken advantage of. Instead of replacing a part, they cleaned it and that seems to have done the trick. I picked Stafford Automotive because of all the great reviews and the fact that they respond to all reviews. That says a lot in my mind. It also helps that the staff is very friendly and accomodating. So glad I found Stafford!!

1/4/2021 I have a f-350 6.7l diesel engine. My truck had been over heating. I haul travel trailers all over the country. When it over heated cost a lot of time. I hadn't been able to find a shop that could get to it in less than a week. I was trying to get over the Kid Carson Pass. The people that keep the snow cleared off the roads helped me get turned around. Giving me directions to a city that had a lot of auto shops. I called a 1/2 a dozen shops. They were all a $150. a hour. Then I called Stafford Automotive. I told him I thought the problem was the fan clutch. He said he would check it out. I asked how much a hour he charged it was $100. a hour. He would worked me in & have me back on the road by the time they closed the same day I called. They had me out by 4PM. He did what he said. If you a honest good shop this one is the best @ a reasonable service center. If I have another problem & in the area I WILL GO BACK. GREAT PLACE!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Stafford Auto is by far the best auto repair experience I've had in a loooong time. Quality work on my exhaust. Price was more than fair. John was able to complete building my exhaust for less than originally quoted. They really stand behind their work. They have the principle of "If your not happy, they're not happy" and they will make it right until it's what you want. That's pretty hard to find these days. This is one of the best automotive shops in the area. The owners went out of their way to meet the needs of two senior citizens. All the employees we met were conscientious, considerate and cheerful.They ran diagnostics and test drove our vehicle several times during the day it was in the shop, but they could not get it to duplicate the sporadic hesitation in power we had experienced. They made a minor adjustment and so far no more problems with the engine hesitating. They didn t charge us for their time and told us that if we got a dashboard warning light or experienced the problem again we should have it checked out promptly. Thank you Stafford owners and employees.

After being stranded for a couple of days on a return trip from Apple Valley Ca, to Washington state John ,Danielle and Sarah turned to and helped me get my old 97 psd up and running again. They let me know what the options were as far as parts availability and didnt leave me hanging, and,got me headed down the road again immediately after the parts arrived. If you're broke down in the Reno/Tahoe/Gardnerville area you should give them a call

John and his wife run a great business. I have had my truck in multiple times for preventative maintenance as well as repairs. I have been going to John for over 13 years, before he even went into business for himself. He is always honest and fixes only what's wrong, never over charging. He has always followed up with me, making sure I am fully satisfied. When I purchased a brand new vehicle, only Stafford Automotive has touched it. It now has 282,000 miles on it.

This shop is unhonest and has poor quality of work. We have been taking our vehicles to stafford for years. Recently I had work done on an engine install. I then went to another shop to have other work done. There the head mechanic pointed out that stafford ignored replacing basic seals and gaskets resulting in an EXTREME LEAK. The entire underside of my vehicle was covered in motor oil. Also they greatly over charged me for basic components. Prices I could have spent on high performance parts myself. Of all the vehicles we owned and are now out of use I believe is because stafford chose to over look a basic thing in attempt to keep us returning for repairs.Not only this, a good friend had her vehicle in for repairs at stafford. She went to a local Walmart and spotted her vehicle. Shortly after, Danele, the head lady at the shop came to the car to put her groceries and kids in. UNACCEPTABLE. I am 100% positive this shop receives positive reviews from its workers, family , and friends. They are by no means professional. I outed the shop for poor quality work and the front lady tried calling me then having an argument over the phone. Where she tried arguing that the shops failure to complete the job thoroughly was because it wasn t apart of the checklist . I hung up on her. They will rip you off for the highest up charge on parts and extremely poor workman ship. This shops worked on multiple of our family cars which are all now out of commission. Save yourself the money and time. Go check out any other shop. I recommend Ricardo over at One Stop Auto. Great family man and honest worker. He saved me hundreds on parts and labor.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

This is by far the best automotive shop in town there knowledge and expertise is inpeckable and the rates are fair. I say if you want it done right the first time and don't want your pocket book violated come to Stafford automotive.

This repair shop is like no other!!!!!!My wife and daughter broke down going to a rodeo in Gardnerville from California. I called them at 4:30pm on Friday night, they stayed late and got truck running again. Can not say enough about the friendly, quick service!!!!!Once again THANK YOU!
