My daughter and I were on a road trip from Boise, ID to Auburn, CA and we stopped for gas in Fernley, NV when we couldn t get the gas cap off my daughter s car. I called the closest mechanic I could find which was High Desert Auto and Diesel Repair, LLC. I told them our situation and they said they were swamped but would take a look at the car. They were so nice they got the cap off told us where to go to get a new one and where to get the cheapest gas in town, which is literally across the street. They didn t even charge us they just wanted to help us get on our way safely. Stand up guys and sweet as can be. If you want some honest people working on your car, don t hesitate to have them work on your car. Thank you for helping us. Take care .

I was having car trouble in Fernley and this was the closest place with the best reviews. Scott welcomed me inside and told me upfront that they were booked out a week, and they would try to do diagnostic testing on my car. He got back to me in a timely manner with his short staffing and other cars to be serviced, and was very honest about the service performed on my car, and potentially what could have been the problem based on his knowledge.

High Desert Auto and Diesel really accommodated us when we were on a road trip. They did a major repair job on our diesel truck (replaced 6 fuel injectors) on short notice and did a great job in a timely fashion. The truck runs great and we were able to continue our trip. We are very grateful for their service and kindness.

High Desert has worked on my '11 Yukon XL and '05 Excursion with the 6.0 diesel. All the work has been done in a timely manner, the work has been great, and customer service has been spot on. Any time I've had questions they've taken the time to answer and explain what needs to be done and why.

Best auto mechanic shop in the Fernley area! When my grandmother's vehicle broke down, they diagnosed and fixed it very quickly and reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone. And not just for diesel engines.

Very honest people who do the right thing and do it well. Had my truck looked at by a big name shop in reno first, and they just said I needed a new engine. So i got a second opinion from the guys at high desert. And they said it could be fixed and they have seen this before. Got my truck running like new and saved me thousands, I Highly recommend them.

They had to replace my transmission. Kept price under estimate. I asked for them to check the brakes and they were very honest telling me I don't need them done yet. Another mechanic told me I needed brakes and quoted a very high price. I will take my vehicle to High Desert for all my maintenance and repairs.

Honesty, excellent work, timely manner, and do not rip you off!!!!Here s my story briefly!First went to Lithia Hyundai in Reno regarding a grotesquely strong smell of gasoline coming from my car. Almost $1000 later the smell did not improve (and the cost was not covered under warrantee). They also told me I needed new brakes for $1800 also. Then took my car to Les Schwab to check the brakes. They quoted me $1400.Back to the first problem, I decided to take my car to High Desert Auto and Diesel Repair for the gas smell. Without doing a diagnostic test which would ve cost about $120, they solved the problem! It was a damaged O ring causing gas fumes. (not sure I got the explanation correct, but just call Scott at High Desert. He ll explain).Total to repair my car, $400! And yes!!!! No more gas smell!And second, I did not need brakes after High Desert checked my brakes out. I have about 10,000 miles left on my car. That s one year of driving for me!!, or more!!!! And I wasn t charged one penny!Any concerns about your car, feel confident that you will be treated with honesty!Great service, great repairs! Ask for Scott!

Great place to take your vehicle. I have had them work on several vehicles and have never had an issue. They have great pricing, and awesome service. They tell you straight what's wrong and how much it will cost with no run around. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle here for it's needs.

They are really good!!If you are in the road and have an issue with your car go to HIGH DESERT AUTOMOTIVE.They repair a oil leaking in my car change the gasket really fast so I could go back to my trip without losing time.And the price was right!!THANK YOU GUYS

Brought my car in 4 times, got it back leaking every time. Then took it to another car place and they showed me where it was STILL leaking. High desert had fixed everything but used the old (inexpensive) hoses, so after paying close to $2000 I had to pay another car shop another $400 (labor)to put some $20 hoses in to keep it from continued leaking. Not happy, never going back!

Brought in vehicle for pump rub. Vehicle is notorious pin hole in transfer casing. Ordered parts and charged almost a $1000 for this repair. After 6 months had to replace t/case. Very disappointed in the repair at this shop. Went out to Fallon for repair and they did a great job.

Have been working with Rich on a used car I bought from a dealer in Arizona that broke down in Wadsworth. They sold me a lemon but Rich has done everything possible to make the situation bearable. The dealer actually bought the car back thanks to Rich proving that the engine blew. He kept me updated long-distance, has been friendly, sympathetic & helpful and I'd highly recommend them! Took my BMW 5-series to have the A/C repaired. Apparently the only place in town that works on the European imports. Took their time to make sure that the expected repair (leaky Schrader valves) was the actual problem. Returned the car with a super cold A/C in full working order. Pricing was exactly inline with what I expected and much cheaper than a dealer would charge. Great work, great price, definitely a satisfied customer who will be back when the need arises.

These guys do a great job and have excellent customer service! My husband and I have brought both of our vehicles into them and they not only fixed the problem in a timely manner but followed through with great communication! I highly recommend High Desert Auto!

They did breaks all of the way around on my truck. First, hey dented the bumper and gave me a heck of a run around, ultimately not fixing it, now less than a year later I need new rear breaks again and I am told that they did not install the hardware on the rear break correctly causing it to fail.

I can't say enough good about this place and the people who work there. Had a fuel line blow on my 2003 Ford 7.3 diesel. Towed in on a Friday, line blew near ovelock. They waited till I got there and had already called in for a dealer only part. The owner picked it up Sat morning and put me back on the road that day, even though they are normally closed on Sat. I'd give them 10 stars if it was possible.

This place had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what they were doing to my mothers Ford F250.. It started off having an electrical problem so we took it in. Then when we went to pick it up it had a fuel delivery problem that started in their shop..They Never fixed it. They stil l.j charged my mother a boat load of money AND WAS NEVER FIX. Very disappointed in this cut rate shop... Bring your Vehicle to California and we will fix your car at no tow cost.....And finnish the Job...

These people are really terrific along with being excellent mechanics. Their prices are reasonable and the communications first-line. As crazy as this sounds we actually look forward to going in there when there's a problem.

Charged me for parts and labor to repair horn problem horn still doesn't workThey had my truck until 6:30pmsaid they had issues with personnel and no phone call to let me know poor customer service

These guys have been servicing my car, SUV, and motor home for over 3 years. They know what they are doing, are responsible, attentive to my situations, and stand behind their work. They ain't cheap but they get the job done.

Agree with others, the owner wasn't helpful or kind. But there was a woman and another guy there that were really nice and helpful. I'm super thankful to them. 5 stars if I people didn't have to talk to the owner lol

Does not follow through. My car sat there for two days and wasnt even touched. I had an appointment. Brought in Monday morning and at the end of business on Tuesday was still sitting where I left it. I requested my keys and will never reccomend or return to this shop!

The problem was not fixed, cost over $2500.00 ! I took my car back and still not fixed. This place should be reported.

Brought my truck there 4 times still not fix even though they say it is. Completely ridiculous, keep say this is wrong so I fix it problem still there bring it back now there s something else wrong so I fix it and same problem. The cycle repeats itself over and over. Guess if I you want a good diesel mechanic you have to goto Reno.
