If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I own a trucking company and my truck needed to be towed due to weather issues in a small town in Nebraska. My truck was at a hotel literally across the street from the shop that it needed to be towed to. The owner (a white lady) quoted me $800 & $854 after taxes. When I asked why so much since it was directly across the street from the shop she proceeded to yell stating why does my company have to give you a discount. I hung up. A white guy with the same type of truck also at the same hotel as me called and they towed his truck to the same shop across the street for $350. Although this towing company told me $850 was their flat rate, she gave another person a different price simply because of the color of our skin. The tone of our voices must have gave it away. It s unfortunate that in 2024 minorities are still being treated unequal. Hitz towing is RACIST. If you re not white don t get stuck in Nebraska and if you do please call another towing company.

I was have good experience in this shop to fix tire on my trailer. Truckers if you need quick to fix or change tire you can came here on your truck. Extremely recommended this people who wanna work, at first I came to their neighbor across the street, but their lazy to fix my tire and make money . Thanks a lot

Hello Hitz Towing .. Back on June 23 2021 an older Ford Econoline van rear ended me out there on the 80 on my way home back to California. You all where so helpful and kind after such a bad accident. You also were able to get me a ride back to Omaha so I could get a rental car and finish my journey home. I will be for ever grateful for kindness and help in a time I really needed it. AVOID PREDATORY companies like this one.....My driver got stuck in a blizzard and because of issues it was a wait.....fine.....they contacted us three days later and said they were en route to tow the truck which was 13 miles away....once they arrived it took hours and rightfully so but they disregarded the instructions and towed the truck back to their shop versus the repair shop ....when we called to inquire where the truck was they lied and said they were still working on it in the field when our tracking system showed the truck was actually at their shop.....they then proceeded to inform us that they would be unable to bring truck to shop on that day because the invoice personnel was out for the day and to be prepared for drop off in the morning.... When morning came they had a bill of 5k......after a plea for negotiation we agreed upon paying the 5k and made payment only for them to not answer their phone or anything.....no contact whatsoever....the next morning they finally drop truck off for repair but at that point they had already held truck hostage for another day even after payment.....we as truckers understand how crucial the lost of a day is and this business was very dismissing and predatory.....there is competition in town with more fair rates,better customer service and a far better response time.... don't fall victim.....if you know better you would do better and now you know.... can't say you weren't warned.

We had a truck break down during a snow storm, our local tow company was going to get it for us but the Highway Patrol put out a tow ban and they were unable to get it. 2 hours after the tow ban was lifted Hitz went and grabbed it off the off ramp, towed it less than 9 miles back to their impound lot. I tried for over a week to get it out but the rude owner told me to get in line with the 20 other companies that were wanting their equipment too.$2500.00 for the tow $125.00 convenience fee + tax = $313.54 a mile tow. -5 stars from me .In my opinion they are a horrible company and people to deal with.

Ridiculous ! Took them over 2 hours to come 2 exits up from there location when we where told it would be 30-45 mins and on top of that we where charged $250 to get towed 2 exists down at least the macanic shop next door to this place was a 10/10 that guy was able to help us out reasonably but Hits Towing they where ridiculous and rude tbh

Some of the nicest ppl around. Helped us get are truck to a shop and are camper to the rv park. While are truck got worked on. If you need a tow these are the best around. Treated us like family. When life was kicking me purdy good, the gal in the office did me a solid with a surprise when I came in to pay my bill. I would most definitely use them again, just preferably not in the way we first came to business lol

Highly recommend Hitz Towing! We found ourselves on the side of the highway during a thunderstorm with a blown tire on our fifth wheel trailer. The local police department recommended Hitz, who went above and beyond to assist us! The guy arrived within 20 minutes, assessed the situation, made some recommendations; he even took a trip back to the shop for us. The tire was changed and we were back on the road in about an hour all together. We were so grateful, and he wouldn't even accept the $40 tip we offered. Very professional, and very competent.Service: Tire change

It was after hours, and they still answered immediately. I have a diesel pickup that had a large gooseneck trailer with equipment attached, the lady I spoke with said they normally don't do diesel fuel delivery and I was about 9 miles out of town. So I asked who she would recommend, she asked if she could call me right back. When she called me back a few minutes later she said she would be sending a guy out to get me some fuel, and she couldn't promise it would work as diesels need primed when they run out of fuel and he wouldn't be able to spend alot of time trouble shooting my truck. I was appriciative of her sending someone to try though, he showed up quickly was friendly and helpful, and came with 5 gallons of diesel. He was able to get it to prime and fire up and followed me to the gas station where we settled up. It was very reasonable for an after hours call and their whole team went above and beyond to help me out. I can't thank them enough. I would 100% recommend them if you ever need one of their services near York NE. Additionally when he showed up on the side of the highway where I was stopped his truck was big bright and had great light bars to help warn traffic and made the situation feel much safer. Thanks Hitz you guys truly helped me out when you could have just turned me away.Service: Fuel delivery

We hit an icy patch on the highway headed north to South Dakota and ended up in the ditch, as did a lot of cars. I called AAA and it was a 3 hr wait with their company. The sheriffs deputy recommended we call 2 other places in York. We called Hitz and were out within the hour. The gentleman who came pulled us out very quickly. I hope I never need them again, but would call if I did.Service: Car towing

Reed was our driver and was fantastic! He showed up very quick and helped me get my dog up into his truck. He was nice, polite, and provider a comfortable experience while being towed. Thanks so much!!

This place and these people are the worst, avoid avoid avoid. Wouldn't even let my girlfriend get the baby seat out of the vehicle until we paid their over inflated ransom they charged. Plus the wicked witch at the counter called us trash.

I highly recommend this company 100%!! We were moving from Bismarck North Dakota to Conroe Texas. We stopped in York first night, had to extend stay 1 more night but was asked to move our huge, long uhaul truck with trailer to the near by lot. What they didn t mention to us was that if it rained (which it did) that the lot turns into a marsh! Our 10,000 lb uhaul truck loaded to the gills with stuff sunk down into the mud. We called AAA but they wouldn t be able to help. So we called uhaul and they said it would cost $350!! Even though we had trip insurance!! I called Hitz and bless their hearts, the cane right over and pulled us out of the marsh!! We didn t have to pay $350 that uhaul was going to charge us either. They are friendly, fast, reliable for their word and a GOD send when you think everyone is out for themselves they look out for you.Service: Car towing

Excellent service & rates! Tow truck arrived quickly, repairs were accessed and completed within 1 1/2 hours. Rates were more than fair. Traveling on vacation, so their efficiency was much appreciated. Could not have asked for more. Thank you Hitz!

JoAnn (the dispatcher) and Reed (the driver) we re both amazing. My insurance wanted to send me to Exeter where I would have had no place to stay and no way to rent a car. Basically no services whatsoever. They helped me find a Jeep dealer/service in Seward instead and gave me a ride to a motel. Reed even helped me get my luggage to the door. So professional, quick and really super nice. I recommend this towing company highly. Having worked in service many times in my life I recognize outstanding service when I see it and this place has it. So great. Thanks JoAnn and Reed !

Super friendly, fast, and efficient. He made sure we were okay while giving us suggestions, answers, and advice. He was even willing to tow us all the way to Lincoln. I couldn t be more thankful for the service that was shown tonight. Thank you!!

CALL THE COMPITION! The public is forced to deal with these thieves because of some kind of backroom good ol' boy arrangement to provide a public serviceThe public needs to be aware that this business is predatory and the owners are not honest in business

This review is on behalf of Ameritruck, LLC in Charlotte, NC.As a business owner for over 20 years, we understand you can t please everybody, but a business should try to help if the customer is grossly overcharged for the work performed. I have never personally written a negative review on a business before but in this case, it may help someone else from making our mistake. Our best driver, with a good driving record, unfortunately lost control of the tractor/chase car he was driving on 2/24/17 due to excessive wind and ice. Hitz Towing was called and we had a recommendation that they were a good company that would treat you fairly. When they arrived, they were directed by the police not to remove the truck which was on the side of the road until the weather got better the next day ($800 charge for no work done). They recovered the truck on 2/26/17 and we received their tow bill yesterday for $5,534.50! We have a good local wrecker company that reviewed the bill and was shocked at the cost. His consensus: Highway Robbery Without A GUN!I spoke with Randy Hitz (owner) concerning the bill and was deeply disturbed by his comments and position on the situation. In our business, customer service and relations are very important. Based on our conversation, this is NOT something Randy cares anything about. He called our driver an idiot and said I was one of those do-gooders that will never do good in business by helping people. He proceeded to state you used the cheapest driver you could get at 30 to 50 cents a mile and deserve what you get . How somebody that doesn t know anything about the driver or his compensation and blames him for an accident beyond his control, is ridiculous (police report confirms no fault). It s obvious he only cares about money and will make false statements to defend his position. There was even a $50 administration fee which I guess is for making sure they absolutely charge the most they possibly can knowing you must pay it, or you can t have your vehicle.BUYER BEWARE: If you have a choice, I would highly recommend considering an alternative for any wrecker service needs. These guys will prey on you and could care less about your situation. They don t care and will make you pay HUGE MONEY to show you that!

I wish to thank Reed and JoAnne for their amazing and absolutely warm-hearted assistance when my aunt's truck stalled on the free way 20 miles outside York Nebraska. We have no relation to Hitz, we are from Iowa moving to Arizona. Reed got to our stalled vehicle within 15 mins (it was freezing so we were counting every minute lol), towed our truck, parked it (graciously found an extended parking for us), and came back to hoist it onto our dolly a month later. We have nothing but gratitude to those two individuals. We give top rating to Hitz Towing !!!!!

They are the most scandalous company I have ever experienced not to mention the rudest most disrespectful service possible.. quite the racket they have going on with the local york pd.. the lady wouldn't even let me get the keys to my house out of the car for the whole weekend.. total dirtbags all around

Brother was in an accident they showed up towed his car two blocks....charged him over 100 bucks plus 20 a day while he was in the hospital. And now refuse to let him get his personal property or touch the vehicle till he pays them an ungodly mount or hand over his title. Do not use them unless you want to pay and get used. The owner is a thief!

We re a smaller trucking company that has become a frequent flier with Hitz Towing. They re always fast, professional, knowledgable with very reasonable rates. My first recommendation to anyone.
