Great family owned, local mechanic! Needed new brakes on my 2007 Ford escape and they were able to get me in very quickly, replace my brakes and get me back on the road for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend. Will be going here from now on for all my vehicle mechanical needs.

Tom is the best mechanic in Omaha. Very knowledgeable, experienced, and most importantly isn t money hungry. Most shops will recommend something you may not need, Tom will only work on your car if it needs servicing or if it may be an issue in the near future. Tom is very honest, affordable, and dependent. Best mechanic in Omaha, will continue to come here

Tom goes above and beyond. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, and he consistently exceeds expectations by prioritizing what's best for the customers. I have yet to see better prices, too. Highly recommend Excellence In Auto-Repair.

This family owned and run business is completely honest and helpful. The oxymoronic mechanic shop, authentic auto repair, was scamming us and lying about a bad ac compressor when all that was needed was a serpentine belt change. This is the type of business you want to spend your money at. They are very good people.

I took my car here for years while I lived in Omaha, and now that I have moved away, I seriously miss their service. I'm going through a terrible experience with a new shop (different state), and it makes me appreciate the excellent service I was provided here all the more!I never felt like they were repairing something that didn't need it, and Tom always explained thoroughly what he was doing, and would even show me the broken parts. They also understood that I was a broke teacher and couldn't afford anything unnecessary, and I always felt like I was paying a fair and reasonable price.Yes, repairs go a little slow because they are busy, but it is so worth it for honest and affordable work.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance

This shop is full some some of the nicest people I have ever met. Tom is a very genuine guy and is not out for peoples money. Breaks plus quoted me around $2k for some work. Tom re-diagnosed my car and got me out the door for less than half that.

2 of my sons are in the area on business. They're just getting started and money is tight. Their car broke down and they were stuck.This shop was recommended and they were very well taken care of! The team there took excellent care of them! The price they charged on parts and labor was much less than they could have charged and because my boys needed the car for work the shop got them in and out in a couple of hours.As a dad I'm super grateful!As a paying client I'm exceptionally impressed!I own a small business too, and customer service is EVERYTHING!I spoke to the owner on the phone and he's a great red-blooded American Army veteran, family man, and a dog lover!They treat strangers with kindness, dignity, and respect.I am pleased to give these great fellas my highest recommendation!You are safe taking your car here!

Man I tell ya being pregnant trying to change drums on a car that's never been done since 02 is a dread. I can't. So I came across the reviews and called and got right in today, hopefully won't be more than the overpriced places I avoided. So based on the reviews this guy seems reasonable and honest. I grew up in western Washington, lived in eastern Washington as well as Montana and have never found an auto repair place that lives up to excellence! I went to post grad school here from 2015-2018 and used Tom then. When I moved back this year in 2023, he remembered me and my sisters. They are honest and detailed and so very kind!! We had an emergency with the braking system on our Chevy Traverse. Needed to bring a co-worker to the airport in an hour and the vehicle is used for transporting employees several times a day.Tom worked like the flash. In less than thirty minutes he identified the problem and had the parts ordered. By the time two hours had passed the brakes were repaired and we were good to go. Tom took care of us swiftly and did it for an incredibly fair price. We felt valued and cared for by the entire team here at Excellence in Auto-Repair.I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Brought my car here after a bad experience with another local mechanic. Was quoted nearly $1000 in repairs at the other guy for new fuel pump etc. Tom found the issue with my vehicle was the wiring to my fuel pump was faulty, and my car has run fine ever since. Saved me nearly $800, and even if I had to replace my fuel pump it would have been $400 cheaper than what I was originally quoted elsewhere. Overall, highly satisfied with their professionalism and ability to get the job done. Will definitely be going back to Excellence in Auto Repair in the future.

Tom is an excellent mechanic, he really knows his trade, and even better than that, he's honest.If you are looking for a great shop to take your car to, look no further. I've taken my cars to him since I first moved to Omaha, and he's been fantastic every time.Reliable, knowledgeable, affordable, trustworthy, and quick!That's all you could ever ask for out of a mechanic.Thank you for making a bad situation better Tom!

I have been going to this shop for a few years now and just realized that I had not written a review. I LOVE this shop so much! They are very upfront about what they think needs to be worked on and will give you prices on everything before they start any repair. I started going to them because of muffler issues (thank you Omaha potholes) around 7 years ago and since then have gone to no other mechanic in Omaha.To give you an idea on how much I trust them, I was rearended in January. Finally had a chance to make an appointment with Excellence in Auto-Repair and gave them a general request to look over my car and the muffler as it was making loud noises since then. They called me up and instead of just replacing the muffler as some auto shops might do, they asked why I needed it replaced as it was fine. I explained about the accident and they are going to fix the actual issue of the undercarriage having issues.In addition to that, I plan to take a trip in a couple of months and wanted to make sure my car is in good shape in general for a trip. They came back basically saying that I needed to replace my spark plugs but that I have taken pretty good care of my vehicle. Many shops I have been too would've taken advantage of my very general request and gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be taken care of. I asked for some other things I personally wanted to have done, based on information they told me in the past that might need to be done in the future. Like a radiator flush so that my heating starts working properly again when I start the car instead of a few minutes. In addition, oil change and wheel alignment as my car has been pulling to the right lately.All in all, the pricing was give or take around $500 for all the work quoted. Which in many cases, you couldn't even get the radiator flush for in many other places.TLDR: I highly recommend this company as they are very trustworthy and have very reasonable rates!!!Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Tom is super great! I had some problems with my Malibu and Jeep and he got both in quickly. My favorite part about the shop is that he calls you to let you know what is going on and walks you through everything! As someone who knows zero about cars, I did not feel taken advantage of at all. You can tell he love what he does and it isn't about the money; that is how it should be. He has very fair prices and I love that it is a family run shop. They are personable but professional. I highly recommend! Plus the 2 dogs in office are sooo cute and make my day! This shop seriously is my go to for my auto repair needs and I will never go to another shop. Amazing customer service! I was visiting Omaha, planning to return home to Texas in 2 days. My van started making a weird sound, so I called my mechanic in Texas whom I have worked with for many years - he listened to my engine over the phone, and recommended that it be checked immediately. He was worried about a bearing, and did not think driving back to Tx would be safe. He strongly recommended finding a little family owned shop - and I found an amazing one!! I called Excellence in Auto Repair - they were the only one I called that actually had a person answering the phone. She offered an appointment for the following week. I explained my dilemma - the lady put me on hold and went out to talk to the mechanic, who said I could bring the van right in. When I got there, the mechanic came out (in the pouring rain!) and said it was hard to hear over the sound of the storm, so asked me to leave the van there and he would bring it into the shop to figure out what was wrong. I got a call back shortly after getting back home - he said the noise was a bearing in my water pump, and that the pump was in bad shape. He said he could fix it by the following day. And he did. I was so grateful! My other option was going to be to fly back to Texas, leaving the van here, then flying back to get it - this saved me a huge hassle. Talking to the Uber drivers who drove me home from the shop then brought me back again - they both tend to work in that area, and have heard lots of praise about that shop from their riders. So if you need an amazing mechanic with awesome customer service, this is the place to go. Hopefully I won't need their services any time soon, but I have already passed their information on to family who live in Omaha. Tom & Renee are truly gems -- They are outstanding business people with hearts of Gold. The reviews do not lie and if you need something completed with your vehicle or just advice, they will make that happen for you. I was in a bind and they took care of me expeditiously. Its about trust and I do consider them family. Their price points and level of service can not be beat in Omaha. Thank you so much guys!

i have taken my truck there many times. timing belt, ball joints, water pump, new wiring harness. Tom, Dan, Zach, and Renee know how to treat each customer like family. i normally do all my own work on my truck but when its cold or i feel like getting some great service i go to them. no stealership or chain service can come close to their prices or work ethic. not once has there been a lack of faith in them. the most honest people i know. they will never pull a fast one on you! that is the biggest benefit in the world.have a good one! cant say enough about the family there, from the (red Tacoma owner, Dan).

We have been going here for vehicle repairs for about 15 years! Many different vehicles, same consistent service. Tom is an excellent, honest, reasonable, and reliable mechanic.Lot is often pretty full - just a sign of how busy and trusted they are!

Tom and Renee are definitely Excellent. Friendly, very knowledgeable, great price, honest family operation. If you need car repairs , go here. 5 stars , highly recommended, all the time. Tom is the best mechanic I know of in Nebraska.

I was driving home from work at 4am. And my car started to shake violently. I immediately pulled over and tried to diagnose the issue. Found my driver side rear wheel was disconnected to something I thought might be the axel (not the most handy. But decent)I drove it home going 10mph, any faster and I was scared of the death trap I was in. Anyways, I called around to 6 different shops in the area. All booked out. I found these guys. As a last resort, and I called, Tom answered the phone. I told him the issues, he said to finish my coffee and get there right away. So I did. He fit me into his busy schedule, THE SAME DAY.I took it in about 9am. He called me with the diagnosis at noon. I got the car back at 3. Parts and labor were way less than it would have been at any other major chain shop. I will be calling him for any issues I have. And since I m nearing 100k miles. I m sure will be a few.Oh. And also. They have two stray dogs they rescued over time. So that s an awesome bonus to an awesome mechanic.Thank you Tom.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment

Definitely the best service I've ever received with a mechanic! They got us in extremely quickly, identified the problem we had, and got us out in almost no time at all at a very fair price. I would highly recommend these guys for anyone!

I came here based on their fantastic reviews and now I can see why everyone is giving them 5-stars! A small family-owned shop, Tom and Renee were quick, responsive, and up-front with me the entire time they had my vehicle (which was only a day...They're FAST!). I told them I had a budget and Tom was happy to tell me what needed fixed first to get my truck driving safe and reliably, and even picked me up from home when everything was ready! Best repair shop experience I've had yet, I highly recommend Excellence In Auto-Repair.

Twice I've taken my wife's jeep to other places for routine maintenance and they've identified problems and given me high quotes. Both times I've taken the jeep here for a second opinion and Tom has confirmed the issue but fixed it for half the cost the other places have quoted. It's also been dropped off and fixed in the same day. Also, everyone is incredibly nice here. I will be taking my vehicles here every time.

Fast, affordable, and honest along with excellent customer service.I dropped my car off at 7:45AM, they had the problem diagnosed around 10:30AM, and it was fixed and ready for pick up at 2:45 that afternoon! They are a very small, family owned shop but incredibly fast/efficient and reasonably priced. They run an honest, ethical business which can be hard to come by. I will absolutely take my car there again if I have troubles in the future.HIGHLY recommend!!!

Seriously, a great place to go for auto repair. The name fits the company well here. I took two separate cars in, thinking we had some weird issues going on with our cars. Each time, they charged me NOTHING b/c they said they couldn't find a problem. I offered to pay for their labor, but they refused. My wife and I were shocked by their kindness. In fact, they told me I probably just needed a few new tires soon and recommended some good places in town to go to. They also sent me to Iggy's to get my door fixed, which turned out to be an amazing recommendation! They turned out to be right, by the way. There really was no issue with either car. I don't usually take our cars in unless something serious is going on. So I was worried they just missed something, but they didn't.The one time they did fix a problem, they fixed it quickly and did an awesome job. I told my whole family they need to start going to these guys. They are the best! You never feel like they're trying to scam you at all like other shops.
