Great work done on two of my classic cars! Repaired the transmission on my 1980 Mercury Cougar XR7. Then, carefully removed a damaged windows regulator on my 1993 Chrysler New Yorker to get it rebuild by an Arizona specialist. Great people to deal with!

I highly recommend Lees Summit Transmission. They go above and beyond to offer solutions to major mechanical issues even on classic cars. Not long ago I took my 61 T Bird in for trans and front end rebuild. This the second vintage car I ve had repaired here and have had great results both times. Thank you!

I dropped my truck off at Lee s Summit Transmission yesterday, not knowing if they could fix my problem yesterday. I had to have it fixed same day because it is my only transportation. I called at 2pm and it hadn t been fixed yet. I showed up at 4pm and the job was completed. They are very nice people, but also very busy. Good shops are hard to find. So, I think I have found a good one. The price was a fair one. I do recommend LST.Service: Auto maintenance

I bought my car in April 2023 from a friend. She had the transmission replaced at this shop in June 2022. By the time I had the car, the transmission overheated and it needed to be completely replaced. The transmission that they put in only lasted 22,000 miles, while the original one lasted 130,000 miles. Thank God I had a warranty on the transmission so the transmission was going to be replaced for free since it did not last nearly as long as it was supposed to. At first the office staff was super friendly and told me to bring my car in and they could get it all taken care of for me. I brought my car in, it sat in the parking lot for a week and a half untouched. I called every couple of days to see if they had started to figure out what the problem with my transmission was and started to figure out a resolution to the problem. But every time I called they told me they hadn t looked at my car yet, and constantly had some excuse for why my car hadn t been looked at. I wish they would ve told me straight up if they didn t have time to look at my car so I could ve taken it somewhere else instead of racking up the rental fees from my rental car while my car just sat in their parking lot untouched.I finally called them after a week and a half and asked if I can take my car somewhere else to have it worked on while still honoring the warranty. I m not sure who I talk to but some woman in the front office was super rude and refused to give me the warranty companies phone number and then hung up on me. I m sorry but I think I m allowed to be upset when my car has sat in your lot for weeks untouched. I think it s understandable that I want to take it somewhere else. When I finally came to pick up my car all of the front office women stared directly at me, and it felt very judgmental and not a welcoming environment.Anyways, I took it to a Certified Transmission Shop and they had my car taken care of and ready to go within a week and a half. I m not sure about the quality of work they do at this shop but I would probably recommend skipping over this shop and finding someone else.

Worst shop my trucks ever been to. First time they had it took them 7 months to realize it was out of gas and left it a quart low on fluid. Second time I got it back it was again a quart low, missing a pan bolt, leaking out of the tail shaft, removed my shift kit, and they didn t adjust the tv cable whatsoever. Was told to be easy on it for 500 miles (just enough to burn an improperly adjusted trans) and found out as soon as I let it run through the gears at WOT. Told me this so I wouldn t floor it and find out it was shifting at the wrong points. Just cause I m 18 doesn t mean I don t know what to look for, come on people

What a great group of people! I had a transfer case delivered to their buisness to be put on my truck, but it came cracked. Ls transmission informed me right away & let me keep my truck in thier shop until I was able to get a replacement. I also work late some times & they stayed late just so I could pick my truck up when it was finished. Thank you! Don you're a great mechanic my truck runs Great!!! Service: Auto maintenance

I took my truck here to have the rear-end repaired. Charged me for a new factory gear replacement. I followed all recommendations for the break in. Now I have just received a call from. A certified Chevy Dealership informing me that I have to replace the entire rear axel. Because they not only put some cheap parts in it, they didn't even put the correct type of gears. Also they did not install those correctly. If I was still in Missouri I would be taking them to court for scamming me and causing more damages to my truck. Do not use these scam artists. Lyed about parts i was charged for, did not put the correct type in, and put them in incorrectly.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I got my transmission replaced here last July and it only lasted 5000 miles before I had to go back to get it worked on again (the original lasted 160000 miles). And they tried to sell me a new oil pan gasket when I brought it back in to try to make some extra money I guess, turns out they didn't even replace the gasket they just took out the gasket and used some sealant and it's leaking more oil than ever, avoid this place like the plague, for the money ive spent ive gotten very low quality service.Service: Transmission repair

They were AWESOME. Two other places tried to charge me $100+ to simply CHECK my transmission for an issue. Called LS Transmission and they said they would do it for free. Went, in less than 10 minutes the guy was looking at my car. He listened to my explanation of what I thought happened (supported by the car manual and my video). He checked the car, took it for a drive, brought it back and said it appeared to be fine. Explained what it could have been in terms I understood and told me what to do if it happened again. I was SO pleased with this. I don't know about cars but I know when people are trying to pull one over on me and they definitely were not the type of business to take advantage of a young woman who obviously doesn't know a lot. I was very impressed and highly recommend them.

Lees summit transmission is amazing! Our transmission went out and we had it towed to Molle, after a week of being at Molle and not touched- they were calling for snow so I needed to find a transmission ASAP. I called LST and as soon as I got my truck towed there, they immediately started to work on it and had my truck done in 1.5 days- even with them closing early due to a family emergency. We will DEFINITELY be taking our vehicles there for future issues. Thank you Pam at Lees Summit Transmission you all were amazing

This was honestly one of the worst repair shops I ve been to. I took my car here because I had a previous good experience years ago. I deeply regretted that decision. I took my car in on June 8th, today 6/25 after almost three weeks my car had not even been worked on, when they had told me a week previously they we re starting work on the car. I called multiple times to get a time frame on when the work would be completed, and to get an itemized statement that I could submit for the extended warranty on the car but were unable to provide. Overall lack of communication and an unprofessional receptionist, take your car anywhere else!

Horrible experience!! Beware do not waste your money here for poor products and service!!I have never posted a negative online review before, but here's what happened...Our 2008 Ford Taurus needed a new transmission and we took it to LS transmission. Within 2 months their new transmission failed. After some haggling they honored the 6 month warranty and replace that transmission. When we got the car back the windshield was badly damaged and they claimed they had nothing to do with it. Again with much haggling they finally replaced the windshield. Finally 8 months later, 2 months past their 6 month warranty, guess what happened? The 2nd transmission failed and they will DO NOTHING to offer even a tiny discount to help fix it. Nothing! Their office lady hung up on my wife who was simply understand what options we might have for a repair.$3,000 wasted at LS Transmission! Never again!

So far I am not impressed!! Took our work truck for a new transmission. Said it would be ready in 3 days. Here we are 5 days later and still not done!! They did not even bother to update us on the progress!! We had to call and call. Better be a discount on our bill. If they do the right thing this review could change. If not, hmm!!! Just saying, do what's right!!

I brought my truck in on monday and was told that my transmission needed replaced. The owner was very forthright with information and was told the transmission had to be ordered. They expected it to come in one day this week. As promised the transmission came in on friday and since they typically are not open on the weekend I expect it will be done first part of the week. They have met every logical expectation and have gone above and beyond! These guys are awesome!!!

I brought my Jeep in on some suspected transmission noise and sure enough a new transmission was necessary. It was covered under a third party warranty, which if you know much about those warranties, they are a pain in the butt to work with and there's a lot of back and forth and it takes a long time to get ahold of anyone at the warranty company, and everything has to be approved through the warranty company before any work can be done. Well Lee's Summit transmission did an awesome job dealing with the pain in the butt Warranty company and they worked as fast as they could every time they were given approval. Once the work was finally done I can say I'm very happy with the workmanship. The transmission shifts smooth like butter and I can honestly say I've never felt a transmission so smooth and so great. The people at LS transmission were always very patient with me and always did a good job answering all my millions of questions throughout the entire work process. I would recommend this family owned small business to anyone

Around November 2013, we purchased a transmission from Lee's Summit Transmission. Within a week of the completed transmission rebuild, the transmission leaked all the fluid and burned up when we were on a trip. We had to haul the car back to Kansas City to return it to the shop. Even though my husband knew that the clutch pack had been entirely burned up, they decided to not take apart the transmission and instead replaced only a clutch sensor. We immediately began having problems with it once we got it back but did not return it to the shop because we were hoping that it wouldn't get worse. Within a few weeks it was evident that, while never entirely missing gears, the transmission would regularly slip between gears. We returned the car to the shop and they told us to return it and they would fix it. We got it back this weekend and it is now Tuesday and my husband just discovered a massive transmission fluid leak. They are willing to fix it, but we now doubt their ability to do a quality job as this will be the fourth time that the car has been given to them to repair.UPDATE (6/17): The car has been returned to us and we have now been told that we were mistaken and the transmission is not leaking, that it must have been the power steering fluid. We know that it is not the power steering fluid as the color of the power steering fluid is much different than that which was leaking out of the car, but it does seem that the leak has stopped or slowed. We submitted a BBB Complaint against this shop, and they were unkind about it (saying that they didn't understand what we were so angry about) so we will no longer be returning to this shop and will be taking our car elsewhere.

So we have a car and the transmission is bad so we took it here and they checked it and everything and said it wasn't the transmission, but we have a friend who is a mechanic and he said that it was the transmission that is why we took it here, they said it was something else so they changed it but the parts were almost new. They told us that we had to pay $900 and if not they had to keep the car so we had to pay. But I think that it's unfair because we had a call after and they told us that it was the transmission, but they never fixed it, they only fixed useless things. I recommend not to come her they scam , what a waste of money these people made us pay.

Jane is very knowledgeable and ive known her since i started driving with problems with my vehicles always tries to make sure im comfortable with the price and very intentive. I love their business etiquette in the automotive industry is very demanding and very high with lots of customers. keep up the great work with your business stay successful...as they have ran this business since the early 1980s into 2010s over 30 yrs of service... absolutely love this place and the owners with their kids or kids in law helping run it now...GREAT JOB PPL

There service bays are large enough to accommodate my needs. I drive a 10 foot company vehicle and I desperately needed an oil change. They had me back on the road in under an hour. The longest wait time was getting the oil delivered from the O'Reilly's from down the street.

Will not ever go back! Had our son's car towed there on a Friday mid afternoon and it wasn't until we called the 3rd time on Tuesday that they even looked at it to see what's wrong. I understand if the shop was busy, but at least communication would have been helpful. They quoted 3300.00 when went right down the road for 1400.00. Stay away!

Extremely knowledgeable workers and very helpful and professional. This is a local owned business and I have used them for years. They work on all sorts of issues, not just transmissions. Extremely fair prices, I haven't found better for the quality of work. I highly recommend them.

I had Lee's Summit Transmission replace the guibo on my son's 1998 BMW 528i. It ran great for a short time and then it was worse than ever. A friend I trust recommended a shop to me that knows BMW. After looking at they said the guibo was installed backwards. I spoke to Lee's Summit Transmission and they laughed and told me that the BMW mechanic didn't know what he was talking about. The most frustrating thing is, if they know they did it right, why didn't they offer to stand by their work. I will never use this shop again! This why I try to work on my cars as much can because you can't trust a shop to do it right and have them stand by their work.Just got a call from the repair shop and they told me that Lee's Summit Transmission had complete failed to replace the carrier bearing. When I say failed to replace what I really mean is that it is missing!!

These guys are great, took my vehicle in for funky shifting. Don took my vehicle for a drive , meanwhile I'm scared of what he might find... comes back to tell me it's just a dirty mass airflow sensor! Didn't charge me a dine. You bet my vehicle will be going back for any maintenance or issues I might have in the future!
