They are absolute sunshine here. They were very transparent about costs up front and so polite in all interactions. When they realized they over quoted and my brakes were actually still ok, they called to update me and see how I wanted to move forward. I was able to save some money. They have a customer for life.

I came here to get a headlight fixed. Mark and his team were extremely kind and went the extra mile to serve me quickly. They were extremely transparent about what it could cost to fix - and it ended up being way less expensive than they originally estimated. I appreciated the element of no surprises as Mark explained was his goal with his customers. Highly recommend and will be returning myself!

I damaged my car and scrambled to find a shop that could take care of it. Wornall Automotive did above and beyond! They communicated every step, and I left knowing I was taken care of, rather than taken advantage of! So thankful to the team!!

On 10/20/23 my catalytic converter was stolen while parked at the night drop on their property. Beware they have no cameras and on a brightly lit corner of Gregory and Wornall my converter was stolen. They mentioned this has happened 14 times at their business yet they never discouraged me from using night drop, have no cameras, and acted completely unremorseful. Scott and Mark ran testing on the engine anyway and then called to notify me it appeared my catalytic converter was missing after the fact, citing they thought maybe I had dropped off a car missing a catalytic converter and were confused by my instructions. A simple call before performing the work would have cleared it up. My first experience at Wornall Automotive ended up with a missing catalytic converter, a bill for worthless engine inspection (which they did slightly discount), and a lack of any gracious customer service, especially the manager Mark who talked at me like I'm an idiot. I suppose I am for trusting their offer of a night drop option. You may want to discourage further customers from dropping at night, build a fence, add a camera or do something to protect your customers. Lost a customer fellas.

I just moved to the area and this is the friendliest and most transparent auto shop I've been too. The owner and his team really go the extra mile with respect to customer service. Will definitely be returning for future car care.

The absolute best! Very easy to work with. We were able to drop off our car after hours and they kept us updated throughout the whole process. They did not nickel and dime us, and they were actually able to complete the work we needed under the initial quote, which I have never seen before in my life.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

We live 3 mins walk from the shop and have taken our vehicles there over the years to be inspected for MO tags. Not one of our vehicles passed inspection the first time at this shop, but usually is was small things like a lightbulb or wiper, which we fixed ourselves. This time though they said all 4 ball joints were bad on the truck my husband just purchased. The seller just replaced all of them 8,000 miles ago (we have the receipt) and the wording was still visible on the parts, but they failed inspection at Wornall Auto with a $2000 fix needed to pass according to them. Two mechanics later agreeing that absolutely nothing is wrong with the ball joints and a passed inspection from a different shop, I caution anyone from using this shop!! Not sure whether they are scamming people or just incompetent. But beware a local shop in a great neighborhood is being dishonest. Beyond upsetting! Proceed at your own risk.

Mark was very personable over the phone and in person. He explained every step of the process and why I needed the work that he was recommending. He even recommended the *cheaper* brand of tires to me, explaining that it made no difference. When they aligned my tires, they even included a printout of the state of my suspension and explained what the diagram meant. This place gained a new lifelong customer today.Service: Tires

I have been using Wornall Automotive over the years. A bit pricey $$$, but they usually do good work and are close to my house.. Recently, I brought my car in to have a couple of sway bar bushings replaced. I dropped off the car in the morning and was called sometime after 12:00 noon. They told me that they broke off 3 of the mounting bolts (Rusted). They then told me they would have to take off the lower control arms to drill the bolts out and that was going to cost $250.00 per arm plus the cost to drill the holes for a total somewhere around $600.00 - $700.00 or replace the control arms and drill the holes out for around $1300.00 or just pick the car up. I asked them if they could just drill out the bolts from the top with a 90 degree drill. I was told easier said than done. I asked a couple of other mechanics and they both told me the same thing. They broke the bolts, they should fix them. Being mechanically inclined, I bought an angle drill and did the job myself. I don't think I will be using these guys in the future if that is the way they treat their customers.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Wornall Automotive is great! Mark is very helpful and explains things so that you understand what's going on with your car. They understood I was on a budget and helped me prioritize what needs to happen now and what can wait for future service. I was told at one place a service needed to be performed on my car and Wornall Automotive let me know that it was definitely not needed. They may cost just a bit more, but it's totally worth it for the service and peace of mind. I would definitely recommend them and I will be bringing my car here for future service.

Wornall Automotive is probably the best shop I've ever received service from. The staff is wonderful - friendly, honest, and more than helpful! I've only gone in there twice for my car, but unless I'm doing the work myself, I will always choose to take my car to them. They replaced my fuel pump with a respectable price. They kept me updated while they were holding my car at the shop every day. The shuttle service is very appreciated! It was nice being able to drop my car off before work and then get a ride from the shop. My second trip was for my fuel gauge; it had stopped working. Thanks to the wonderful warranty from replacing the fuel pump, I was able to get that fixed up for free! :D Thank you so much, again! I will always choose this shop over any other in Kansas City.

Incredible service. Not only did they patch my tire (and not sell me on needing to purchase new), they saw I only lived a few minutes away and gave me a ride so that they could solve my issue same-day. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you!!Service: TiresService: Tires

Very friendly and easy to work with. I will be coming back here when I need work done in the future.Dec. 2018I've gone back and I can only say positive things! I have a Toyota with about 150k miles on it and they are great about letting me know what things will need to be done soon so I can plan for the repairs and feel confident that I'll be able to keep this car for awhile.

I brought my Subaru outback to Wornall Automotive with a starting issue. Based on my experience, it seemed to be an issue with the antitheft system, which I conveyed to them. They insisted on doing a full diagnosis and reported back to me that it was not the antitheft system that I actually needed a new starter and wanted to charge me around $650 total. This was more than I could afford, so I declined their service. They charged me $156 for the diagnosis, which I paid. I then hired a mobile mechanic, bought a starter and had my car towed to another lot. While waiting for the mobile mechanic to arrive, I turned the ignition and the car started just fine. My theory that it was the antitheft system proved to be correct and I did not need a starter. Either they were trying to rip me off or they were grossly incompetent and/or lazy.RE the reply bellow:There is no doubt that my starter will eventually go out. It could even happen today, even though it shows no signs of it. I ve been driving my car daily, making deliveries in it and starting it repeatedly without any problems. I expressed to them my tight financial situation and my need to get on the road back to Texas. If they were aware that my car would start without having a new starter put in, they withheld this information from me. If they did not know, that suggests a different problem.

I've been coming to Wornall Automotive for two years now. Mark specifically, has been my hero. As a college student, I don't have a great budget, but I know my fair share about cars. Yes, they are a little expensive, but they get the job done right. Mark calls before any new maintenance to discuss cost and if it can be put off safely in regards to my budget. I have a used car, so there's almost always at least one "suprise" maintenance item, but they make sure I get what has to be done done, as efficiently as possible, and make sure I know a timeframe to get the rest done. They are not pushy, not arrogant, and very respected not only in Waldo but around Kansas City.

The work is great and the workers are very friendly. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places. My family has been going to them before I was born. We have not looked for anyone else to work on our vehicles since we have found them. We trust them and they are very reliable. I recommend them to all my friends that are looking for great service and close to home.

Great work on my VW!! A good service center for a foreign car is difficult to find, most privately owned shops can't keep up with the technology. Wornall Automotive was on top of everything my vehicle needed. They got their diagnosis correct because my car is running great now. I've had several shops, including my dealership, try to repair my issue with no luck. FINALLY Wornall Automotive figured it out. Highly recommend these guys!!!

This place is dispicable. As a Mechanical Engineer, I quickly recognized that this place was attempting to rip me off by performing unneeded work. They refused to do the work that I requested. Because the car was towed here by AAA, I had no recourse except to pay a tow truck to TOW my vehicle to a reputable establishment. It was worth effort and $90, because I saved over $700 by doing so. This doesn't include over $1400 of additional work that they attempted to convince my 19 year old college student daughter as being needed. I cannot over emphasize my caution to folks in Kansas City about this place. If you are foolish enough to take your car to this place. I fully expect the folks there to dispute and tout their awards and other misleading info..... I can speak from experience. You'd be wise to pay a tow truck to take it somewhere else, to a reputable repair shop like I did. If only I had known before I had my car towed here.... well now you know.- Your Welcome!!!

I have been meaning to write this review for some time. I am a new resident of Brookside, and to Kansas City. I found myself in need of a new pair of brake pads. I shopped around a bit online before I came upon Wornall automotive. The gentleman sounded honest enough on the phone and I decided to give them a try. Dropping the car off was a breeze. They advised they would call me once they were able to take a look. Fast forward a few hours and I received a call from the gentleman I spoke to at drop off. He advised that in addition to new pads, I needed a new set of rotors because the current ones could not be turned. He went on for a few minutes and finally got to the $500 quote. I was shocked because the rotors he was referring to were less than 2 years old. I started digging in and asking specific questions (what was micrometer reading, what is cutoff?, etc). His answers made no sense so I kept pressing. Eventually It came to pass that he was full of it. He asked to put me on hold and said he had to check with the mechanic. 3 minutes later he comes back to me and voila.... He can turn the rotors just for me. So long story short if I had not dug into his story I would have been out an additional $200. Buyer beware they are salesman and really press you on services/parts you don't need. The sleazy sales pitch I received raised red flags and after the rotor story didn't checkout my suspicions were confirmed. I did end up paying them to do the brakepads but will not go back. In all fairness they did a good job on the pads. Price was $275, a bit too much but I am used to Los Angeles prices which are much cheaper.

I have been going to Wornall Automotive for over five years and always have a great experience. My wife and I have older cars, and the folks at Wornall Automotive provide sound advice for keeping these vehicles running smoothly. Whether it's routine maintenance, solving the occasional system issue, or providing information on upcoming service needs, Mark, Ryan, and the team are professional, friendly, and provide excellent value for the high quality of service.

I have been taking my cars to Wornall Automotive for over 15 years. Ryan, Mark, and crew have always treated me fairly, with friendly kindness and tolerance, and I highly recommend their automotive repair facilities. They treat one with respect, are honest, forthcoming, and very fair. They always explain in detail what is needed and when. Again, try these guys out. Support our local Waldo/Brookside merchants! These guys are tops!Sincerely,Gary J Banta (Joseph B.)

I caution you to have A/C repair service done here. My A/C went out 3 times within 1 month. I took it back for a 2nd time, just 2 weeks later, but not a 3rd. They do not warranty their A/C work and I had to pay extra/again for a leak they found the 2nd time, & another recharge & Freon. No leaks were found the 1st time! I am new to KC & was looking for somewhere close that seemed trustworthy. I will not be returning. The 3rd repair I had done by a mechanic friend I trust, unfortunately driving to Wichita with no A/C in 100-degree temps to do so. He temp-fixed and it is still holding, almost 4 weeks later. Longer than either of the actual repairs/service performed by Wornall. I am very disappointed in this experience and the amount of money I had to spend.

I went to them to get my tires rotated, but they damaged my rims. When I questioned them, they of course denied it. "We do honest work," they said. They chipped parts of my rims around the lug nuts. It sucks it happened to my new 2017 Fusion. We all expect someone to treat our things with respect, they didn't. I guess I should have taken pictures of my rims before to prove to them they did damage them. I won't be going back for any other services

I had an occasion to meet the service coordinator of Wornall Automotive and in a conversation talked to him about issues I had identified with my car. Ryan was very knowledgable and made recommendations for other repairs that could be made as preventative measures at the same time the known issues were being addressed. I have had all the repairs completed and have had my car back in my possession for just over a week. I could not be happier with the results I have received or the services I was provided. Each step of the process from estimates to ordering parts to drop off and pick up of my car was handled professionally and in a timely manner that accomodated my complicated schedule. So, thanks to Ryan, and Mark and everyone who helped me solve all the problems I had and saved me money in the future with effective preventative recommendations! I would strongly recommend Wornall Auto and I will definitely take my car for any future needs back to Wornall Auto. It is true the cost is higher than some other shops, but i agree with another testimonial; 'You get what you pay for!'

They are just awesome at auto repair. I never really used to think much about the difference between auto repair shops. Then, after a recommendation from a friend, I came here to get my tires replaced and an oil change. The difference was noticeable immediately. They recomended me aligning my vehicle because I had a slight pull to the right. I barely noticed before because I keep my hands on the wheel for the most part, but afterwards it was driving straighter then ever. And I was driving much smoother on the new tires, they really did a good job finding the perfect tires for my car. The best part about it all was their service, though! The gentlemen at the front counter really know what they're talking about and tell me exactly what I need, what is upcoming, and what can wait until later. Not to mention they explain it so I can understand the problem.

I called inquiring about a break line leak, these guys were very informative and informational about my questions. Mark was the young man who was very patient and knowledgeable about my concerns. I really feel comfortable about taking my vehicle there in the near future. So happy to be in business with these guys.

PSA for anyone considering coming here. This place has new management, so you can expect the same treatment here, as you get at Brookside 66. Read on for enlightenment!SHOULD BE CALLED CROOKSIDE 66!BEWARE - This place will rob you blind! They choose to honor the Manufacturers Suggestions on AWD and 4WD to sell you tires you may not need, while blatantly ignoring those same Manufacturers Suggestions when telling you that your car needs services. They follow Dave s policy of 30K, when your manual clearly states that they are not needed until 100K!!!!!Your alignment will be performed at Firestone, with a 50% upcharge, because although they say they do it there, they do not have an alignment machine! Also know that the technicians are instructed to find something wrong - I can t pay the f***ing bills unless you find something wrong. State inspections are not always done by a certified technician; often Dave fills out the certificate after the uncertified tech has inspected the vehicle, with pressure to fail it.Trust me, I know; I was let go because I have a conscience and disagree with these practices! This is not just another disgruntled employee; this is me stating the facts I was finding hard to live with.DO NOT TRUST THEIR WEBSITE REVIEWS!!!!! DAVE DELETES ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS.your welcome!!!

Replaced my oil, rotated my tires, and did a 30 point check before a road trip I had to make. I know from experience that what Wornall Automotive tells me I need, my car actually needs it. They are one of, if not the most trustworthy shop in the area.
