I have been dealing with mark and his shop for little over six months now. They have been extremely helpful with my bike projects, whether it is a cheap Chinese moped or a name brand bike, they have been very knowledgeable and kind. Definitely looking to do more business with them In the future. Thanks again!

my girlfriend has a very old moped that she wanted to get fixed so she can ride around Kansas City with, this place ensured us that it would be done in a timely manner, and not to worry that we were in good hands . And it s literally been two years since that conversation, they wanted $300 upfront and then we would pay the rest when the moped got finished, we have had any single ounce of communication from the establishment, giving us an estimated timeframe, it almost feels like they re just trying to steal her moped at this point, I would highly advise to go somewhere else to get your vehicles worked on everybody because this place will absolutely give you the runaround and nothing but excuses about why they aren t working on the things they need to work on, it s immensely unprofessional, there is no excuse in the world for an establishment to hold on to someone s property for two years with no progress at all

BEWARE!!! Brought in a scooter that needed a clutch cable, a battery installed and a new exhaust (all of which I supplied) and left TEN MONTHS LATER with my bike in pieces AND THEY CHARGED ME $350!!! Absolute horror story of an ordeal. Literally admitted that they had an apprentice work on it that didn t know what he was doing, very unprofessional, no communication. Would give them zero stars if that were an option. The picture of the scooter looking nice and put together is the BEFORE picture from the day I dropped it off with them. The picture of the scooter in pieces is how I got it back ten months later. Mark was rude and belligerent. Read the other negative reviews they say the same thing about his attitude and his replies to reviews are even combative. I m reporting them to the BBB too.

My bike broke down while passing through Kansas City, thankfully the Bike Shop was open on a Monday- they stopped what they were working on, and manufactured the part needed to get me back up and rolling! He also double checked the rest of my bike to make sure I would be safe getting the rest of the way home. The owners were so awesome and kind! And they were more than fair with their pricing. I was so grateful for them! Best shop around- especially for female customers! They made a rough day so much better

I would like to give it 5 stars but it just doesn't feel right. The clerk wouldn't let me speak to anyone but herself and when I ask to speak to a technician she refused and me being polite as possible she continued to be difficult as then she simply hung up on me.

Please avoid The Bike Shop for your own peace of mind.I used this shop for motorcycle repair multiple times. Each time was worse than the last. Work took weeks longer than quoted with no explanation. The owner Mark was incredibly rude when I'd call to check on work after not hearing back. Can't believe they're still in business. This place inspired me to learn to work on my own bike, because I couldn't bear to go back. Please avoid them for your own peace of mind.

Went way over what they originally quoted, and didn t say anything until I got my bill. They also took three weeks longer than what I was told.

I am new to the Motorcycle market. My son was given a 82 GL1100 Gold Wing, and it has needed some attention to the fuel system, parts are not simple to find. Mark cleaned up the float for us and got it working. I and my son will continue to utilize the services at The Bike Shop! Thank you Mark!

I've been taking my bike to these guys for 8 years. They've always taken excellent care of me and my motorcycle. Great quality work! I wouldn't trust my safety with anyone else. Any time I've ever had a question or concern, they've always been a phone call away.

I'm going to start with Mark seems to be a nice guy I did read some of these reviews. Before I took my bike to him. His technician was working on the same bike as mine. I'm going to give him 3 stars as of right for good customer service. I will update this when I get my bike back on the service they provided on my raptor 660r

This shop is awesome! By far the nicest guys and quickest repair time in the city. If you're looking for quality work, check them out. Mark took my old Honda Spree and made it run/look like it just rolled off the factory floor. He had most of the parts in stock and got my bike back to me FAST. Bring donuts, and they'll be your best friend!

I'm so happy I found this place!! We have taken 3 bikes here in the past 3 months. First our 230 Honda dirt bike and our 110 Honda. Both were in poor shape. These guys got them working better than when they were NEW! No JOKE! Then we took our Polaris 4 wheeler. If anyone knows, Polaris went out of business. I have taken this bike to a couple of people over the years and NO ONE has gotten it to work the way these guys did. My son was so excited to ride it and said, Mommy I think its faster! : ) Just want The Bike Shop to know, we took all 3 out this weekend and they road like CHAMPS! We had so much fun! Thank you. Your guys are awesome!!!

Had a bad experience. I was told I will have my bike check out when I brought it in. I waited and called back two days later and was told it will take two weeks. waited for two weeks and then was told it will take a month for them to check my bike for a very simple problem. Got my bike out of there after three weeks, took it to another shop and got my problem solved in less than 30min. I don't mind waiting but don't tell me lies just to get my service.

I went to Mark on a Friday afternoon, arriving from out of town with no signals or horn working. He started working on it immediately, found the problem almost right away and only took about an hour and a half to do the analysis and repair.I appreciated his working on it right away because I was only visiting Kansas City for a short while and needed my bike to be able to get around. Everyone there was so friendly, too.Mark knows his stuff, nice guy, and there are some good relics to look at - bikes, not people :) - while you're waiting.

Mark, the owner of the bike shop; along with one of his mechanics, went above and beyond what they had to, to correct a problem I had this weekend.I was happy with the work that was done on my bike, and thought the price was reasonable.I will use the Bike Shop in the future, and have recommended it to another Gold Wing owner.

My bike, amongst 20 others, was stolen from this place. I recovered the bike after finding it on Facebook Market place. To get the bike back to original is now going to cost me over $1,500. This shop does NOT carry the correct insurance (baileys insurance) to cover your bike if something happens to it. Mark the owner only offered to sell me the parts at cost to fix the bike. In my opinion, the bike needs to be put back to the state it was when it got stolen, on their dime. 100% do not take or leave your bike there.

Stay far away from these scam artists! Took my bike there for a diagnosis, the owner Mike didn't mention any charges before hand. Later, he said it will cost $250 to get the bike back out and there was nothing wrong with it. I doubt he even looked at it because I asked him to do some work if he was going to get in it. They have the worst customer service of all time. I was genuinely duped out of my money. These guys are horrible!!

The owners were communicative, they did a thorough analysis of the motorcycle. Very fair pricing. I drive an scooter and thanks to their work, it drives perfectly now. The owner was also willing to meet me after hours because I work late. Thanks guys!!!

Wish I could give less than one star.-They Rarely answer the phone.-They Called me 2 times while they had the bike for 2 and a half months.-My bike was there for 2 and a half months and they did nothing to it that I wanted done. (which was to clean the carbs)-They made me go drive out to Kansas to get them a gasket that they supposedly ordered 3 weeks prior.-Gave me no exact answer on what was wrong with my bike.-Also, when I dropped the bike off it was running. When I just picked it up it will not start.Do NOT take your bike here if you ever want to actually ride it.They will nickel and dime you for everything they can. Do not make the same mistake I did.

So far everything is good with the bike. Only thing I can complain about is the TIME! Taking about a month and a half but Mike is a super nice guy who's trying his best from what I see. So that's why I give it 3 stars. Once bike is back in my possession I will write another or just edit this one to a higher or lower star. Thanks a lot tho Mike appreciate it.

I took my R1 to this shop to have my flywheel removed so I can replace my stator. My flywheel was not coming off as easy as it was supposed to. The two pulleys that they used had broke. After attempting to get it off for 30 minutes while it was still in the back of my trailer we were unsuccessful. He did not charge me anything for something he could not complete. I then headed to Reno's Powersports in South KC on Holmes Street. A Yamaha specific mechanic shop. They did not have any luck getting my flywheel off either. I had left the bike with Reno's Powersports. After 3 days they called me up and said they could not complete the job and charged me their rates. After I was disgusted with Reno's Powersports for charging me for something they could not complete. I went back to the bike shop where I had met Mark. After putting three hours in he finally got the flywheel off. When it comes to professionalism and a sense of security of knowing that your bike will be taken care of I would trust and recommend anyone to The Bike Shop. I do plan to return to this shop when I need Marks help to put my bike back together. GREAT JOB. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS SERVICE. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE CITY FOR WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON YOUR MOTORCYCLES. With out hesitation they will treat you right and take care of your bike properly.
