I took my car here after it failed inspection. After they " fixed it" they overcharged me $30 so I had to go back to get that. It failed inspection again so I went back to Shields. I spoke to Melissa and she was in a really bad mood. I asked for a refund because nothing had been changed on my car. Melissa started walking towards where a mechanic was SCREAMING that we were there to tell him he didn't do his job, which I never said. I stated nothing had changed on my vehicle. The mechanic literally stated that the sway links don't just get loose like that, which confirmed that he didn't do what he was supposed to, because they were in fact loose. Him and Melissa now both screaming and they won't let me speak. The mechanic then mentioned he changed the lug nut like he was supposed to. And I said, " it's the wrong size". The mechanic said it didn't matter and I said it will if I get a flat tire. He said, " oh well, carry around an extra wrench". This is my first experience with them and I'll never go back. I recorded some of it too. I can't believe they're in business. They are extremely unprofessional screaming and cussing.

THE BEST auto repair experience I've had in my 40 years of life. They care, they are reasonably priced, they fed me donuts while I waited. They gave me a ride to and from my home when I needed it. Worth every penny.

Fairly priced. Melissa is great at communicating details and I trust anything Tim works on. Always reasonable and most times quick turnarounds.

Replaced an engine In my Chevrolet Trailblazer earlier this year, no problem since.Then my transmission went out, and i called shields they accepted the tow and even let me add the tow bill it to my future bill with the shop. Really helped so I didn't have to come up w high tow bill immediately, thank you.Services: Transmission, Engine repair

I give zero Don t go to shield Tim is scam and fraud he rip me off For the 3rd time my car broke down Tim fixed my car twice same problem At the 3rd time I took my different mechanic he fixed my car I had no problem over a year My honest mechanic told me what Tim did to my car that part was half used and half new parts I never go back to Tim shields

I'm sitting here reading all of these positive reviews and wondering where is this place? Am I in an alternate universe? Because my experience hasn't been close to positive, the young lady Melissa is always very nice and respectful, but my car can't seem to make it two blocks before I had to bring it back, and I hear the mechanic in the background yelling as if I've done something wrong after I had to pay $913, what should I have been happy that it broke down 3 times before I went a block and a half? Stay tuned they still have my car and no one is communicating with me , I'm keeping my fingers crossed

It seems the owner is lacking a bit of professionalism. After he was called out for being unprofessional in a review he kept the money he was paid and called someone out. You can read the post for yourself. I would say maybe he does fix cars. But he also doesn't sometimes. And when questioned about it he becomes very unprofessional. I'm not sure how someone like that will stay in business long. He even called the dealership he works hand in hand with to tell the customer to come get his car he's done doing business with. So much for making things right. I'd probably save time and money and go somewhere else. There are plenty of reputable mechanics in Gladstone.

Replaced transmission in my 2002 F150. Done the day after I dropped it off. Great shop, excellent communication throughout the repair process. I'll be back and sending all my friends your way!

We took our car, which was jerking quite a bit, to three mechanics (good ones) and they all just gave it back saying they couldn t figure out the problem! It was so frustrating. Not only did Shields figure it out and fix it, they also got us in way more quickly than anyone else was able to. So happy we found them!!Service: Vehicle InspectionService: Vehicle Inspection

My son had a flat tire and (by chance) pulled into the parking lot right next to Shields Auto. He saw they were open and walked over there. They took his keys, let him park the car overnight. The next day, they had his car on the road again with a reasonably priced, brand new tire. What a fortunate place to have a breakdown! This will be his new "go-to" shop. This place is awesome. Took my car here last minute after my coil packs went put. The people were super helpful, worked extra hard to get it done quick and were very fairly priced. I will be going here for future repairs

Local business ran by honest wonderful folks. They shoot it to you straight and make sure you know exactly what issues/Maintenance you are dealing with. This is the only shop I will take my car to.
