I recently took my Driveshaft from my '66 Mustang in to North Mfg. They replaced the front Yoke, Slip Yoke, both U-Joints, and balanced the Driveshaft. Test drove today, couldn't be happier.Yes they are a hole in the wall in an old part of town but did fantastic work and had it back to me in a day.

This place is a joke. It is in the back of the old crumbling Ford plant, and looks more like WW2 era Berlin than a functional business. The owner (who seemed very knowledgeable at first) quoted me $80 over the phone to balance a 2 piece driveshaft that I had recently replaced the u-joints and center support bearing/bushing on. He said he could do it first thing in the morning while I wait, so I could still get to work on time. Once I took it in, though, he told me it would be $150 and that it wouldn't be done until that afternoon. That was also false, however, because when I called at 4 pm he had already left for the day.I called the following morning and was told it was done, and was assured someone would be there at between 12:00 and 1:00 so I could pick it up on my lunch break. I showed up to an empty shop and locked doors at 12:35. I waited about 20 mins before calling the hand written number scrawled on the front door, which turns out to be the owner's cell phone. He showed up about 15 mins later. My driveshaft has no new weights on it, and the originals remain untouched. So I really have no idea what, if anything, was done to it. I am sure however, that it is now completely covered in a fresh, drippy coat of black spray paint, including all of the new parts I just replaced. Since this is going into a '66 I am restoring, all this mess has to now be stripped back off.Once I left the dimly lit shop, I realized there are also gouges in the rubber bushing of the brand new center support bearing that were very obviously caused by the sander/grinder/whatever that was used on the front half shaft before the crappo paint job I didn't ask for. When I called the owner back to tell him about it, he said I must have done it myself. Some impolite words were exchanged, and suffice to say, that was the only money I will ever spend at this fine establishment.Save yourself the hassle, and spend a few bucks more at a reputable shop with regular business hours that isn't in the ghetto.

I took my driveshaft in to be re balanced. They told me mine was bent and that it would need to be replaced. The craftsmanship of the new driveshaft is very nice and it fixed the vibration problem i had. I would recommend north manufacturing to anyone. quality work at reasonable prices.

Phenomenal service!! Called 710am. Promptly quoted "late afternoon" with a positive attitude. Dropped off driveshaft (2000 Toyota 4runner) 8am. Call back about being done 930am. Astounding work! Not only was slip yoke side complete, but the 3rd member side I had done myself- was redone/greased. Baffled he wouldn't allow or accept a tip. Hah!

3 years ago new to KC I had to get my ujoints replaced on my 4Runner. This company was fast, reliable and the communication great. The work took a couple days AND was beyond my expectation. The dshaft was balanced/painted like new. Solid workmanship to this day! If your not afraid to drive to the back of an old Ford plant you wont be disappointed.

I had my driveshaft rebalanced after I replaced the u joints. Bill's employee got me right in, and took care of my driveshaft. Amazing watching them work, and the best customer service I have had in a long time.

These guys are so awesome! They came out to my shop just to measure a drive shaft for me when I didn't have time to do it. Tried to pay them for their time as I am a small business owner too and understand that that time cost money. They wouldn't take a dime for it. I use them for all my drive shafts now.

Brought a driveshaft in to be rebuilt, never did I get phonecall that it was complete, finally had to drive up and check on it just to find out it'd been complete for a week and that the price had magically increased by a $100.00, again no phone call or notification of any kind. If their is two things I hate its no communication and surprise bills which I received both of. Will visit Inland Truck with any future driveshaft issues.

I built my own drive shaft and took it to them to have it welded and balanced. Got the drive shaft back and installed it in my car. Went for my first drive and the car vibrated very bad. Pulled the drive shaft back out and found no weights from it being balanced. Took it back to them and they keep saying well we balanced it and it didn't need any. I finally got them to say that they would check it. I got the shaft back the 2nd time and it had a big weight welded to it. Any ways the price was very reasonable for what I had done.

So I don't know about David's review , but mine is completely opposite. First I called a truck co. down in south Olathe they gave me a price that was fairly high, but what got me worried was he told me the que line was over a week long and that his balancer guy just walked out sick so it may be longer . . . . I called North, got a message that directed me to his cellphone, Bill answered, quickly told me a fair price, was knowledgeable about my truck and driveshafts, AND if I drop it off tonight I'll most likely get it back tomorrow. I took out the shafts, and called again at 6pm Bill told me he had a guy working a night shift so I went and dropped them off AFTER 7pm on a Tuesday evening!!!! David was right that they don't keep normal business hours, but that worked out for me just fine. They called me back to pick them up on Thursday that same week 6 U-joints and a new ball yoke using Spicer parts cost me way less than what the Olathe truck shop would have

I am very pleased! North, specifically I think it was Bill, did excellent work! The driveshaft on my 1988 BMW 735i is factory stamped and sealed, and it is a somewhat complicated two piece driveshaft with front u-joints, mid-u-joints, mid-carrier bearing, and rear CV-joint at the differential. My front u-joints were toast, and had destroyed the yokes in the week or two that I shouldn't have been driving the car, but was, with a pretty nasty vibration. My biggest concern was being able to find replacement parts. A new drive shaft is sold as a $1000 assembly from BMW, and no "rebuilding parts" "officially" exist. Bill found the correct size front yokes and did a great job attaching them to my existing "non-rebuildable" driveshaft. My next concert was balancing. If you read the above description of my entire driveshaft assembly, then I'm sure you can imagine how terrible the monstrosity of a machine must have looked that balanced that two piece wobbling unit as a whole assembly, as from my understanding, that is how the the factory originally balanced these driveshafts, as a whole assembly. North only had the front HALF of my driveshaft. Nonetheless, Bill assured me the front half rebalanced out okay, and the smooth ride now under my butt says he was right. I reattached the rebuilt front half of the driveshaft to the rear, replaced the damaged carrier bearing assembly, and now my 30 year old car accelerates the way she should again. The only less than perfect part of my experience was that it did take a couple days beyond what was originally said to get my driveshaft finished. To their defense though, my yoke was a special order, and I admittedly have no idea whether or not that shipment delayed their delivery date.BUT, when I arrived to pick up up my finished driveshaft, I was charged SUBSTANTIALLY less than I was quoted by two different people. You'll never piss me off by charging me LESS than you quoted! For that kind of integrity, paired with the quality of work, North Manufacturing won all of my future driveshaft business. If you need help with a driveshaft, I would highly recommend you drive down the dirty looking industrial roads and find this shop. It's worth using a GPS to find it. When you do business with these guys, you're not paying for convenient real estate, fancy storefronts, franchise licensing, or any of the frills. You're just paying for damn good metal workers to do a damn good job at a damn good price! Thanks for helping keep my 1988 BMW on the road where she belongs!

The people in this place are completely incompetent, if you do drop your ds off here don t plan on getting it back anytime soon cuz they are NEVER THERE! literally, they don t know what regular business hours are and if they are somehow magically there then they will not have completed the job not to mention the building and inside is a complete disaster, don t bother calling any of their phone numbers cuz the owner will just give you the f.u. button. Save yourself a TON of time and headaches and take your driveshaft somewhere else like I did.
