I cannot say enough good things about the guys at Kevin's KC Brake and Auto. I work for a local nonprofit and have been trying to help a single mom get her car working again. Kevin and his team have taken such amazing care of her! Their team is knowledgeable, great at communicating and very fair and transparent about pricing. The owner, Kevin, is a class act!

There are a great group of technicians here that saved me during an emergency I had. Ironically, I was at the shop to drop off some old steel parts to have them picked up for recycling at their shop. While I was there making the drop off, my entire steering system collapsed on the right side. I was stuck in the driveway of the shop and totally immobilized. 3 of the guys came out right away to assess the damage and jump into action. This wasn t anything planned and they had other repairs that they were working on so I felt really bad. All of the guys were kind and professional as they began fixing the steering issue. After roughly an hour of working on the car, they got everything installed and buttoned up. It was good as new. I can t thank the guys enough for the quick response and their willingness to jump in to help without warning. I have been coming to the shop since moving to KC so I knew that they were good technicians but this incident just proved that they are also good people deep down. Thanks a bunch guys!!

Kevin and Moose are the absolute best. This is the only shop I will go to moving forward. Even though my car was totaled out, they treated me with great courtesy and respect and made sure I was okay with everything my insurance company was doing.

This is the worst place ever. DO not deal with these people they are a scam. And should be sued for poor practices. I would give this business ZERO Stars. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday 1/3/24 to be diagnosed and they had my car until the 12th and it is still not fixed. They did not even diagnose or call me about my car until the 5th and they quoted me a price of 668 to fix the issue Throttle body, and replace a battery, I did not hear back from them about my car until the Friday the 12th only to be told it was not the throttle body that there additional codes they were getting saying it was the wiring in my fuse box, I was then quoted 1500. I decided to not proceed. At that time I had called and reached out several times for updates because they certainly don't call and update you, and not once was I quoted any fee for diagnosing the problem, but they said they had put the original parts back on the car since I chose not to pay the 1500 to get car fixed, When my tow truck arrived they told the driver that there were not ready and were still replacing my original parts to the car, so the tow truck driver had to leave and I had to call back and have the re-dispatched again and luckily at no charge. I finally got my car back $200 later, had to have it towed back home. Sadly, they charged me by the hour to diagnose my car which none of that was authorized by me in the first place. They did not get consent from me and allow me to choose whether or not I wanted to pay that. Now nothing works on my car and it is worse than before they got it.

I had brake-work done in late September, and brought my car back in December to have a look at my breaks bcuz of a constant grinding noise. They took another look at the breaks and rectified the situation, at no additional costs to me, and I'm truly pleased with their work. Great team over there!

If you like shoddy diagnostic work and parts you didn't ask for at a huge markup, this is your place. Called me to say "hey we replaced 2 spark plugs without asking you even though you said they were relatively new and you had tested them. Won't affect the price much though." They tacked over $70 on for what would have cost me $12 and taken 5 minutes.

I had gotten into my car one morning and went to put my key in the ignition and the ignition was on the floor, someone had attempted to steal my car and busted up my steering column. Luckily I was able to get my car towed to KC Brake and Auto. This was second time using them for auto repairs, they were able to take it in that day, the next morning they gave me the information on what was needed for the repair and what it would cost, once they got the parts delivered the work was done in 1-2 days. They gave me a call when they were finishing up and let me know that there was a cost update and they were able to actually save me about $300! The entire time they were great at communicating, easy to reach and very clear to understand. I really appreciate how they were able to help me out and will definitely continue to use them!Service: Steering & suspension repair

I won t go anywhere else in KC for car repair. These guys are consistent, reliable, and communicate clearly. Follow-ups and cost estimates are always extremely transparent. They don t run unnecessary tests or try to up-sell anything you don t need. Everything they have done on my car has been lasting and trustworthy. We re on a long road trip. We needed tire repair and a battery, and our son-in-law recommended Kevin s. We have an unusual vehicle and the battery replacement is not an easy job. They were friendly, informative, and went the extra mile to make things affordable, not trying to upsell us at all. Being from out of town, some places might have tried to rip us off, a little or a lot. But Cody and his crew solved our problems and were honest, thorough, and accommodating. Wonderful staff, as a trans woman living in a metro is difficult to find a place that you can feel safe bringing your car. But Kevin s was amazing, up front, and did a great job. Cost was amazing for the quality of work. Took my car in for an oil change and brake replacement. Much to my surprise Kevin told me my brakes did not need to be replaced. They could have easily charged me for a service I didn't actually need. Honesty goes a long way and I'm glad they still practice it! I'll definitely be back!Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

I was visiting KC when the clutch master cylinder blew out on my Honda Accord. Without a clutch, the car was not drivable. They knew exactly what to do, and they did it efficiently, which kept the cost down to a minimum. The got me back on the road home on schedule. I will definately recommend them to my entire KC office co-workers. Thank you very much!Service: Transmission

These are likely the best mechanics in KC, specifically for European makes. Don t want to pay dealership overcharges, but still want quality work and attention to detail, and this place has got it all. Have taken my Audi to them twice. Kind, professional, and knowledgeable staff with super quick turnarounds and very reasonable prices. I recommend this place to everyone I know in the city.Services: Brakes, Oil change

Kevin's Auto Service literally saved the day for me! I thought there was something MAJOR wrong with my car (I Googled & diagnosed the problem myself and was very, very wrong LOL) brought car to Kevin's and they were 1,000% honest and trustworthy when a lot of people out there would not be...fixed the issue and I had my car back in a few hours! I've been to Kevin's several times and they always give expert, honest, sound advice and take all the worry out of stressful vehicle issues. BEST auto service ever, hands down! That's why you have to get their early (7:30am)!!!

I was in need of help someone tried stealing my pick up on 8th Grand KCMo the tow truck driver referred Kevin's to me . They were so kind and was able to fix the column ignition,and all wires that were tore out and cut. They were fast ,friendly, very helpful. I will go back for other needed repairs hope not from anyone trying to steal my pick up again.if you want good honest people trust Kevin's brake and auto service. I have a kid in a KC college and this shop provided great service to a daughter away from home.We did general maintenance to her car before she drove back to school and apparently forgot to put the oil cap back in place. After smelling fuel through the vents, Kevin's shop got her in quickly and cleaned the engine off and had her on her way.They topped off the oil and replaced the cap all at a super reasonable price.We will definitely use them again when in KC.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Kevin and his team are fantastic!I called them at 3pm on Friday afternoon when they closed at 5pm, and they were able to get my car in that day after I arranged a tow. They called Monday at 10am with their diagnosis and quote, which was on the low end of what I expected for alternator+belt replacement. They were able to get my car taken care of by 2pm the same day! They were very efficient and friendly, both personally and budget-wise. I ll definitely be taking my car in for any future maintenance or repair it needs.Thank you, guys!Service: Electrical

Overall it was a pleasant experience. The price was fair the guys were friendly and professional. I wish I was able to sit and wait instead of dropping vehicle off but that is simply for my convenience. I have no complaints.I recently visited this location again. My car was complicated and more work then we initially thought. I d again give them 5 stars. I appreciate companies that don t take the frustration of unexpected issues out their customers. I believe Kevin s wanted to be sure my car was repair correctly which means a lot as someone who relies so heavily on their vehicle.Service: Brakes

Got my rear brakes and rotors replaced here, for $360, for a 2003 honda accord. I asked them to give me an opinion on whether my struts need replacing and they said I could hold off. Pretty honest service. Dropped the car off at 7:30am, was done at 3pm. They called me before performing the service on the vehicle to confirm the job and the cost, and updated me when it was ready for pickup. 10/10 great service.

I have been taking my cars to KC Breaks for literally 20 years this year. I won't trust anyone else. There have been times that I have taken my car in for what I thought would be a major repair and the honest team found something simple and inexpensive. When I have had major repairs, they use quality parts and handle my babies with care. Because of them I have two cars in great working condition both with over 200,000 miles on them.Do I recommend them?Yes!To everyone!Thank you, Kevin and team, for always taking care of me and my family and friend referrals.
