So I thought that my truck suddenly started handling/driving a little weird or different. While looking around I found that one of my front coil springs had literally snapped the spring itself had broken and separated. I originally planned on repairing it myself being some what familiar and comfortable with doing my own repairs on my vehicles for most of my life. It was still drivable so a decent amount of time went by when I realized I was just too busy and didn't have the time and needed to bite the bullet and pay someone to get it done. I recently moved to Gladstone and heard about Bill and Larry's shop which is very close to my house. I went on and read the reviews and honestly that's what helped me decide that I was going to give them a shot. I found out there was one technician named Rick that handles all the repairs that come through the shop. My first impression of him gave me the confidence to hire him for the job, not to mention I thought it was a very fair price he quoted me to do so. During the repair he ran into some snags such as other related parts connected to my suspension assembly had to be compromised in order to replace the coil springs and strut assembly. He immediately called me and updated me on the situation and continued to do so until completion. The price did have to go up no doubt but he kept it at an amount that quite honestly surprised me and impressed and relieved a lot of my stress. It only took him a small amount of time longer than he predicted to complete the job. I was very pleased and satisfied with the end price and my truck drives like it did the day I bought it again. I highly recommend if you want to have a similar experience regarding any situation with your vehicle that as we all know is never fun; I highly highly recommend you take it to Rick at Bill and Larry's shop. Thanks again Rick, you are definitely one hell of a mechanic!Service: Steering & suspension replacement

I brought my 2012 Ford edge in for a slight overheating problem. They said they would get to it in a week, no problem. They had it for 3 months, face it back making horrible noise. I gave it back to them and finally after making me their last priority, got the car back making a clicking noise. I thought it was a lifter and have neglected it till today and had to take it in to get this clicking noise fixed. Turns out it was the timing chain this place seemingly replaced. 3300 dollars just to fix that and then more for the electrical problems that I didn't have before bringing it to this place. The mechanic does not know what he's doing and now I have bigger problems. Remember it was 3 months to fix a slight overheating issue. This is the last place to take your car.Service: General repairs & maintenance

These guys have worked on my cars for years. I have never had any complaints about the people or the work done there. Don't expect a slick and shiny sign and color brochures because you won't find it. All that stuff does is jack up the price and these guys don't need it. Word of mouth keeps their business thriving. Good folks.

I asked them just to check my car out to see what was wrong. They decided to do a bunch of work on my car that I did NOT authorize and charged me $400. And you know what? It sounded awful after I got it back from them. Went across the street for breaks because Kev's is amazing. Funny how not long after my car broke completely down. Never ever again!! Do not go here.

Horrible service.. I took my vehicle to the shop, 3 different days within one week (as instructed) to get a problem fixed. I was told numerous amounts of excuses and still, never got the problem fixed and they took a bulb from my headlight.. just a waste of time..Wouldn t recommend at all.Service: Electrical repair

From the beginning I thought they were a good shop they fixed on 2 of my cars however this last issue threw me completely off.... I dropped my car off for jerking and not wanting to drive.. they claim it was a motor mount and transmission line that's why all the fluid leaked out. I paid 350 to repair I drove the car the very next day and the problem was still not fixed so they charged me another 200... really couldn't explain to me why they was charging me for something that should have been fixed in the first place there excuse was... the leak had to come from somewhere else doesn't make since maybe because I'm a female... however they will never get my business again...

DON"T DO IT!! Crooked in every way. These guys do terrible work and won't guarantee it. They caused me an enormous amount of stress because of it. All I needed was a fuel pump, they took like a month to do that and never did it right. My car broke down on the freeway at 3 am 2 weeks after I got my car back. They charged me again for the part to do it again. Still didn't do it right and spent another month making me wait. It sounded like crap and drove even worse. I called to complain and Larry starts yelling at me saying my car is a P.O.S. He was saying things like "you people" like the fact that I complained was offending him. I ended up giving this crook $700 and NEVER got a working car. I hired a different mechanic and he fixed it right and has been great for years now and it cost me $180. When he pulled out the fuel pump, which was the second one Larry had put in he showed me how they used a cheap part and it didn't even fit. I called Larry told him about his other bad reviews and he said they were middle eastern towel-heads. This man will blame anyone but himself and his terrible mechanics plus he's racist to boot. I told him I'd let everyone know and he said fine so here it is Larry. Unless you are in his club of good old boys with the exact cars they like working on, you're going to get treated poorly and ripped off like you don't know. Just listen to me and stay away.

Fair prices, honest, and they do good work. As a single woman, I know I can have my car worked on there and they aren't going to tell me more needs done than necessary.

DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC.My car broke down in Kansas City on a Sunday so I ended up having it towed to the nearest NTB. They had my car for 2.5 days and were unable to fix it but told me they consulted with several mechanics, including veteran mechanics that worked specifically on the type of car that I had. They gave me a thorough diagnosis and sent me on my way free of charge, as they were unable to actually assist me. Props to NTB.I'm looking for a new shop to take the car to and I call Bill and Larry's I specifically ask if they are able to fix the immobilizer on a honda civic They assured me they could and told me to bring the car. When I went in, I explained again what happened at the last mechanic and asked that they please check the immobilizer (the issue identified at NTB). I emphasized that a green light should come on when the key is in the ignition and its not...and that the Honda mechanic that had been consulted said it this was an indication of a problem with the immobilizer. The mechanic himself walked in, I told him about the immobilizer and he brushed it off because the info came from NTB.Bill and Larry assured me they would check it and at some point over the course of the THREE WEEKS they had my car, assured me that they had checked the immobilizer and it was not the issue. Over the course of three weeks he called out an expensive consultant to figure out the problem. So imagine my surprise when he calls me and says "I think we figured it out....it's something called the immobilizer". UH YEAH. I KNOW.In the end, I was MASSIVELY overcharged for unnecessary diagnostic work. I was not listened to (I think in particular, because I am a woman) and they refused to take responsibility for the fact that they did not take my concerns seriously. I was forced to pay for multiple consults with someone that were completely unnecessary,I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. He was nice and that lulled me into a sense of security. They are unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes.

They came and got my car (paid tow). Then proceeded to tell me it would be 1200 dollars.. I told them not to do anything that didn't need to be done, to just rig it so I could drive. because I was a single mother with very little money.. they never called back to authorize any work nor did I sign any work papers.. so I call them and they had already done the work.. (so they said) and were asking 800 dollars!! I asked how they could do that when I had told them I needed the car right away and to just do around 200 dollars worth. I asked what they did.. and he proceeded to sound like an auctioneer.. speaking as fast as he could. I asked him to slow down but he didn't. The last thing he said was that they replaced THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS!!!! FOR 25 DOLLARS!!! Now , who in the hell asked these men to do that...especially when I said to just do minimal work. They kept my car hostage for over a month. My step brother decided to just pay them. As I was driving off the lot, the car would not stop going into traffic.. almost slid out into a person coming from my left. They had said they did all 4 brakes!!!! I just now called them to ask for a list of the work done.. and told him about the brakes.. AND HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! DO NOT.. DO NOT. DO NOT.. USE THESE PEOPLE .. FOR ANYTHINGadded note.. THE CAR IS DEAD IN FRONT OF MY APT.. THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE 800 DOLLARS FOR WORKING ON THE CAR AND ALL IT DID WAS MAKE IT HOME.. I'M CRYING RIGHT NOW. .. I HAVE LOST MY JOB BECAUSE OF THESE PEOPLE.. Update.. AAmco.. says bill and larrys put the brake pads on but didn't secure them..they were just placed there.. WE COULD HAVE DIED ON THE ROAD.. AND THERE IS A OIL LEAK.. A VERY VERY BAD ONE.. BILL AND LARRYS CHARGED ME FOR 10 QUARTS OF OIL.. TOLD ME THERE WAS NO OIL LEAK.. CHARGED 800 AND NOW AAMCO SAYS THERE ARE 2 PLACES THAT ARE LEAKING.. AND NOW ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER 500 DOLLARS!!!!!!!!! ITS OVER FOR ME.. DON'T DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO BILL AND LARRYS

I was referred to them from Auto Now whom we bought a car from. Firestone would not pass the car for inspection so they sent me to Larry's. They passed the car and tightened a part and fixed my windshield wiper. My friend took the car for me and he felt that they don't do a thorough job.
