Took my car in to get their complimentary service check on the transmission. The tech took it for a 2 minute test drive. He returned and pulled it in the shop. He popped the hood and pulled the plastic engine cover off and set it on the floor then walked away and stood over by the wall a couple minutes. Then he got on his phone and walked around the shop for 15-20 minutes. He gets off the phone and goes in the office to talk with the service manager. Dominic the service manager had a printout of the fault codes from my car. He said there isn t anything wrong with the transmission, but other problems need to be addressed which o already knew about. He then told me they could do the repairs, but it would cost $189 to a more extensive inspection. He had already gone over the problems with the vehicle and wanted money to tell me what we already knew. I told him I would bring the car back the next morning as I didn t have a ride home at the time. Upon arriving home I popped the hood and discovered the plastic engine cover was not put back on the car. Now I live 100 miles from this establishment and after discovering this missing part I wasn t about to give them my business, but had to make to 100 mile drive back down there to get my part back only to be greeted by a rude service manager (Dominic) and the tech that couldn t even apologize for his mistake. I wouldn t take my car there if it was the last shop period!!!

Aamco on Prairie View has been a long outstanding Car Care Automotive Doctor for a very long time. Manager Shawn and his Techs are very helpful and knowledgeable about any questions or concerns that a Customer may have. You can trust them with any maintenance that your car may require. They have done such an excellent job with my car, thar I will be taking all of my cars to them when it's only them that may have the expertise of handling my car needs. As a matter of fact I had to have my car maintenance both by them and Thoroughbred at the same time for different reasons, but I was very pleased at both, simply because I feel like I have a team of people who really care about the health of any Customers cars maintenance.

I will not return here. I feel uncomfortable with the evaluation they gave me. They want to rebuild my transmission for no reason. I got another evaluation, and that was not recommended, and I was overcharged for the last service. I got on an oil gasket change repair that was done. I heard them give the same speech word for word from 3 people that didn't even look at my car. Don't trust them!

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!NON EXISTENCE CUSTOMER SERVICE!NOT ONE PHONE CALL FROM THEM WITH UPDATES! (I'M THE ONE THAT HAD TO INITIATE EVERY PHONE CALL)Excuses one after another. (Scheduled one day service) They ended up having my car for a few days. (Wasn't told otherwise) missed a couple of days of work because of it. Engine was not put back together properly, missing several bolts where things should be bolted to the engine. They Replaced parts and did work without my approval. There Still is remaining gunk/old gasket that should have been cleaned off where the new gaskets was replaced.I'm not a happy with this location.Its a good thing that you can't post pics on these reviews.It will cost you more in the long run.

GET A SECOND OPINION!!!Brought my car in with check engine light on and some slipping in my transmission. It was either a very expensive transmission swap, or a much cheaper part replacement? Not only did aamco tell me no way would the cheaper option work, but I also needed a $7k new transmission. Used would not work.Guess who swapped the cheaper part out and has driven thousands of miles without issue?AAMCO are nice people, but they could very well needlessly cost you thousands.

Update: should ve added this a while ago, but I wanted to add that this shop broke One of the transmission mounts and didn t actually fix it. The other shop by took my car to fixed it costing me about $100 more.Original:Ignoring price for parts they charged me $2502.00 just for labor to replace a transmission. I supplied the trans so that s my bad, but I needed to replace it again. At another shop I was quoted $2470.40 labor, parts, and all included. Also got a 12 month 12k mile warranty. In and out in less than two days!Also lies, a bunch of lies! Gave them the car on a Tuesday said it would be done by Friday. Kept getting lies after lies pushing the car back not one or two days but making it two weeks!

Took a month and a half to get my car fixed after being told weekly "it will be done by the end of this week" then when I git it back yeah the fixed my issue but my car was almost empty all the tire were low and the steering wheel is now misaligned. Only reason it's a 2 star instead of 1 os because I got a 12 month/12000 mile warranty once it was all said and done. Edit: dropped ot to 1 star cause the transmission they put in just gave out after less than a year. Sent it back to get it fixed on the warranty and now it's been 3 weeks of the same "it'll be fixed nest week. Don't go here!

Customer service was good. Wasn't thrilled that I came for a fluid flush & tire rotation and I received a call stating my vehicle had a "hard shifting" issue (but it wasn't driven while on property - in & out mileage was the same when I arrived & left). Quoted me $6700 for tear down and rebuild of my transmission - my vehicle is a 2017, 122k miles and general maintenance completed every 5k miles. I politely declined & still received information for finance options.

Pretty much the same story every one else has on here with one star. Bad customer service, bad parts, over booked and take way to long to do the service. The Last place I ll recommend for repairs.

I usually don't write reviews like this but, i don't understand why company have to treat there consumers like this. We took are car to them because that is where the warranty company wanted us to use. Are car has been over a month and it was one lie after another. They were telling me one thing and telling the warranty company another. Finally the warranty company decided to tow the car to another company and when they went to get it. They AAmco people lost are keys, to the car and it could not be towed. The new company had to get a lock Smith out there to make a new key to get it towed. I would highly recommend not bringing your car to this place.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Predatory business. Would give zero stars but cant. Be very careful dealing with these people.Was quoted a price of $5600, agreed to this price and gave a $1000 deposit.The next day received a call that the work would actually cost about $8400. Told them never-mind, that it did not make sense for me to have it fixed at this new price.They are now refusing to refund my deposit.Never in my life have I written a poor google review, but want to help others avoid similar victimization.Service: Transmission

Would give 100 stars if I could! Spoke with the manager Emily trying to figure out how to fix my car, she was very helpful and gave me a ton of updates! I will recommend this place to all of my friends! John at front desk is amazing. I needed a new engine and he delt with all the crazy insurance stuff and kept me updated all the way. He fought for me and delivered. Took a car here for warranty repair work. They are a repair center that works with the company thatI bought the car through.Apparently the mileage reported by the clerk to the warranty company was below the actual mileage on the vehicle and should have been under the original warranty and not under my extended warranty. So I was told to take it to the original company to have them look at it.When I finally got a chance to take it up there, I was told that because it was reported as under the original warranty mileage limit they would not repair it.Long story short, it's going to cost me a few thousand dollars for something that is under warranty. Because the mileage reported was not the actual mileage on the vehicle.

My daughter had a leak in a radiator hose. They repaired it after 5 days as the car was overheating and not drivable. When my daughter Marie Poole talked with the manager and he assured her they would not charge for a diagnostic test but they did $180. That s not they charged almost $200 dollars for parts I checked at ORiley and that was double the cost. So how would you like to have a radiator hose and water pump hosing for over $1000. My daughter talked to the manager and they did not do a diagnostic test. They did a pressure test which is labor. Be careful if you go there as my daughter caught the end of another customer complaining. We thought we found a good place to go but we were wrong. Be careful if you go here as they are not honest.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Was told on a Monday my transmission was being rebuilt and that it would be done Friday. Called Friday and they guys said they just was starting and it would be Monday. Monday her it Tuesday, had the truck for a week before any of this. I know this takes time but honesty is more important but. Had you said for sure Tuesday I wouldn't have missed two days of work. I not complaining about the time it took but the false assurance that something will be done then having to wait a whole extra weekend just to wait all day. Wouldn't recommend if you like people to give you straight honest answers. If you don't mind being misled and your schedule being messed up trying to plan based on their input. Things are way to expensive for people to be affect people time and money in this economy. Was told hopefully by noon tomorrow from last Friday.Service: Transmission

Stay away from this place! Horrible service. We took my husband's car in for a fuel pump replacement and other repairs. Ended up taking it back 3 times because it still wasn't running correctly. They never call to update you. They keep the car for 2-3 days without any communication. After bringing the car home we noticed major leaking from oil or other fluid. Took it back and the man stood there and argued with my husband about it. We ended up leaving and will take it somewhere else from now on. Absolutely the best service and friendly staff. This was the best experience of getting the clutch and flywheel done on my Jeep Wrangler. . The whole team was very professional and knowledgeable about everything. I'm really happy with the work the team did and I'll definitely bring my cars there for repairs. These people are great! I purchased a Groupom special for an oil change a few days before going in. I arrived on time and dropped my car off assuming it would take awhile. They called me in 45 minutes letting me know my car was finished. That was fast! Also, they did exactly what I had asked them to do and did not try to upset me on a bunch of stuff that was unnecessary. The people were friendly and helpful both on the phone and in the shop. I will definitely be back in 3000 miles!

My first experience at AAMCO was exceptional to say the least. I told the manager my problem & went home. It didn't take long before I got a call explaining what work I needed done. He quoted me the cost. I got a call early the next day that vehicle was finished. Paid the exact price I was quoted. I had my fuel pump and fuel filter replaced. I called a few other places & decided to go with them so glad I did. Just recently I was having a few other issues with my 4 wheel drive. I called AAMCO of course & set up appointment. I arrived & met the mechanic, Brian. Told him my problems he explained to me what he thought. Brian was very knowledgeable. It's nice to know a great mechanic you can trust! A few days ago some maintenance lights on my car came on. I am leaving for a trip this weekend and wanted to make sure all my tires and brakes were okay since these lights came on. They were able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue and they also made time for an oil change. The oil change was a very reasonable price. This team at this AAMCO location treats everyone like family. I thought my transmission had gone out in my car and I had it towed to this location. Chuck explained every charge I would see or be expected to pay for diagnosing the problem. He mentioned how long it could possibly take for the diagnosis and said he would get back to me. He and his team were thorough, thoughtful and explained everything. Think about AAMCO the next time you want honesty, transparency and a quick resolve to your car problems. There's something to be said about their level of care they provide and how they treat each customer. Times are changing people and we need to have the backs of the people that have ours. Call them! The manager Corey will even text you to check in and make sure you had a great experience. Support locally owned businesses. You'll be happy you did! I 100% will revisit this group of good people!

HIGHLY suggest staying away from this place. One they had my car for 3 WEEKS to do a transmission. Got the run around non stop about when I could pick lt up. I was paying for a rental as well. Then I got it back and he proceeded to tell me my front differential needed replaced and it be another $2500 I took my Jeep to mikes service center and Jeep dealership to find out it had NOTHING to do with my front differential they messed up my front drive shaft and transfer case. I got valid evidence and photos as well. I now have an attorney working the case as I had to pay another 4k to fix what they damaged. James refused to take accountability of his mechanics works and refused to help fix the problem. So I will be suing for the 5k for transmission, 4k for what I had to fix and another 3k I spent in car rentals. Not sure who they think they re dealing with but I m not someone who will sit back and allow a person to do this to others it s not ok. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARS HERE! Unless you want a car back with more problems then when you took it in. Not to mention I m a business owner myself and not at all how I would talk and or be to my customers.Service: Transmission

Under new management. Was made to feel like a burden rather than valued customer. For almost an entire week kept being told "priority for tomorrow" and manager would act like he was doing me a huge favor by working on my car and like I was expecting some special treatment just because I brought my car in, and like I was bothering him simply for calling in to check on what was going on. I had used this location once before and was very impressed with the customer service which is why I was trying to bring my car back here again, even spent money I don't really have to stay at a hotel in the area over the weekend, and was just very rudely hung up on by the manager after being told to "just come get my car then." The brakes have literally gone out and so now I'm tasked with finding another mechanic and somehow getting my car there without working brakes as I definitely can't afford to tow it anywhere. I'm stunned at how awful this experience has been.Services: Brakes, Oil change

Fabulous place! I think we found our car care place here. Made an appointment for an oil change, to have our A/C fixed (needed a new condenser), and our brakes checked. Dropped off car at 7:45 in the morning; it was done by 2 the same day. We were concerned as to how to get our car when done. Since we lived close, they offered to pick us up. Such a wonderful, nice gentleman did... as we were pulling up, I asked if he worked at AAMCO long, and turns out he was the owner, Haha. Everyone was SOOO friendly, the service fantastic, and the prices just right. What a Godsend!Services: Air conditioning, Oil change

Went to AAMCO on Wednesday to get an oil change. I purchased the service through Groupon which was very reasonable. The front desk service manager was great, had a pleasant attitude and offered many smiles. The oil change didn't take long at all and when my service light didn't go out, the technician came outside as I was pulling away to take care of it for me. Great service!

We have a 2005 Honda Odyssey EX with close to 130, 000 miles. It was pretty reliable previously, but it started having some wear and tear. Recently we found out the van had some steering fluid leaking to our garage ground. Then we took the van to a mechanic at the overland park area, who told us the steering pump was broken and recommended us to change the whole pump with the cost of more than 600 dollars.My wife was hesitant to proceed b/c we had spent several thousand bucks to fix the van here and there recently, and she thought about it might be the time to get rid of the van. Then, one of our friends introduced AAMCO at North KCMO. I met the team and was amazed by their friendliness and professionalism. They did a very thorough examination of my van and found the steering pump was intact. Then they fixed the leaking with the cost <300 $ and returned my car within 1 business day. They were also very confident we could take the van for a long road trip. Then on the 2nd day, we drove our beater mini-van from KCMO to Meridian, MS back and forth with the total 1, 400 mile trip within 4 days. Again, the car surprised us with 0 issue after AAMCO s reassurance.We will definitely come back to AAMCO and continue our car repair/maintenance there. I had to get an oil change for the first time in KC. I went in on a week day, Josh the man at the front desk was very courteous. They took my car in to the garage, and found out I needed a special filter. They got the filter and changed the oil, and it was all done within 30-40 minutes. Corey, the owner reached out to me after to make sure everything was well done. Quality service. I shall return if needed.
