Got my truck worked on. My entire dash had to be removed to replace heater and ac parts. Barr s took care of me in a friendly timely manner!!! Thank you and highly recommend!

It was quick to get my suv in for them to look at. Everyone was polite and kind. The mechanic who called me about my issues was up front and didn't try to over charge me.The shop was also very well maintained and clean.I will definitely bring my vehicles here in the future.

Deon, Sonya and the team put me at ease with their excellent service and quality of work. When my car was stolen, it became stressful addressing everything. They worked with my insurance company and made the repair process simple. Now I have peace of mind knowing their professionally performed repairs will keep me safe on the road.

Garry is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I recently moved to Independence and so was hesitant about picking a new mechanic. The work these guys did was phenomenal. The PT Cruiser is notoriously difficult to work on as it's incredibly cramped in the engine bay - especially for a timing belt replacement, but these guys are pros. Very very reasonable quote, and they went above and beyond and had the car back to me much quicker than expected. I had my timing belt replaced, serpentine belt and accessory belt and every tensioner and idler, every motor/transmission mount, alternator, spark plugs, thermostat and coolant replaced. Had the car back in approx 2 business days. I really appreciated the level of communication and openness I received during my service. I've found my local mechanic I'll be sticking with.

My family has been using Barr s Auto for longer than I ve been driving. They have always been incredibly fair and straight forward. When the dealership tried to upsell my husband he talked with the owner of Barr s who directly told him that work did not need to be done. Their honestly over the years has kept us going back. I always feel like I understand what is being done and why. There are never surprises on my bill. All around a great company!

After a year of my 91 Cadillac Seville being in shops more than not and endless headaches with auto shops who didn't really care to get the job done right, Barr's Auto has done a fantastic job with my older vehicle. We took it in for a gasket replacement which they found wasn't necessary, and took the time to find so many other issues with my car that had been continuously overlooked. Initially we had been told the intake manifold gasket was bad, they found it was simply the thermostat housing unit. I'd burnt through 3 ICMs in a few months, they put a high quality ICM in and found a short which had caused all the others to fail. They found that the brake line repairs another shop had done were not holding, so they machined the necessary part in-house for a super reasonable price. My car is running like a top thanks to this shop, I could have saved myself a lot of cash and frustration if I had just taken my car here sooner!

This is where I've taken my vehicles for diagnostics and repairs for the last few years. Deon is a great guy running an honest, hard-working shop. They don't fix things that don't need fixing and they'll tell you to get work done elsewhere if it will save you money. Their prices are fairly standard for an auto shop.

Fast, friendly, & professional. Fair pricing. Actually fixed a part rather than trying to sell me a new one. Didn't try to fleece me down by selling me repairs I didn't need. Vehicle was ready to go the next day. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

Had tires put on and an oil leak fixed. The office personnel is very friendly and helpful. Deon is professional, honest and reasonably priced. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

For over 15 years, BARRS has kept my cars running top notch! I trust them not to suggest unnecessary repairs and they never prove me wrong. Found this place on a whim, But glad I did. They did quality work and it didn't take long. Prices were fair and they didn't try to charge me for stuff I "might" need done. I brought my car in Thursday to find out what the whining noise was under the hood. Barr's Auto repair discovered it is my steering fluid pump that is the culprit. Honest and professional!

We have gone to Barr's Auto Repair for over 20 years for service for our vehicles. We have never had any problems with our service. There has never been any work on our cars that wasn't needed done. We have always been told the truth as to what repairs were needed and then done on time.

Bought a vehicle from this guy Gary and it was the best investment I 've made buying a car thus far ... planning on servicing all vehicles with this company. Honest friendly and upright guy and the customer service best ever. Please keep up the great work . Well I give them a big ole Plus. Dione sure helped me get my truck back on the road to Florida. My starter went out, and they got it fixed. Anyway they gave me priority attention this morning. I find a good mechanic and they know they will work on my car every time it breaks. My previous mechanic had to retire to get rid of me. I really like this place. They have been in business for many years which means people come back, which means they are satisfied. He replaced an alternator for me, for a little less than what he originally quoted. It is warrantied for parts and labor. I picked the kind of alternator that I wanted, he kept me posted along the way. They also did it pretty quickly. They are not shade tree mechanics as another poster said, they have a shop full of test equipment that I don't understand and don't want to. But they explain what is broken and what it really takes to fix it. They don't serve latte's and scones, who cares, they fix cars and do it well.

A car crashed into the office of the building the morning before my appointment so the staff was forced to adapt without their regular workspace and they handled it perfectly. First time I took my car up there for a safety inspection, they were very nice. The second time was a different story. The receptionist lady was very rude. I understand things can get stressful, but when you work with the general public, you have to have yourself under control. I will not be going back, felt fairly unwelcome.

I brought my car here with a leaking vacuum hose that was causing my A/C to lose pressure when going uphill.It's definitely an unusual problem and they made it clear they weren't sure if they could fix it, but I agreed to have them diagnose it.After a few hours of labor into the car, my bill was about $200 and all they could tell me was that a vacuum hose under my dash was leaking. They did not mark the leaking hose or show me which one it was or do anything at all that would help me solve the problem.If they spent hours finding the hose, and they found which one it was, why couldn't they at least show me it so I could work on getting a replacement or another solution?I left $200 poorer and zero better off. But they were completely honest with me and very friendly.

I hired them to inspect a used 2008 4Runner. They did a great job answering all my questions. The only problem I have with their inspection (not the people), is the report lacks pictures. So, make sure you reqest them!

I had to get a state inspection done. I made an appointment with these guys. Walked right in and was out in no time. They worked with me on things that needed to be changed and things that would need to be changed soon, gave me a quote for any work they could do and recommendations for work they could not. This was a fantastic experience and I will probably return in the future for my car repair needs.

Couldn't possibly be aNy better of an auto repair shop in the greater Kansas City area! This was and IS THE only place I have eVer taken my vehicle and NOT been pummeled with condescending amounts of preeminence issues OR lied to uncontrollably. This place is honest, priced more than fair and the mechanic is actually knowledgeable on vehicles that happen to not be so user frIEnDlY.I recommend Barr's to each and every woman in search of an honest, fair and FEMALE frIEnDlY mechanic! I will NEVER take my Volkswagen any other place! Outstanding service!

The highest prices I've ever paid a mechanic but the work was done quickly, professionally. Good communication on the estimate (I was on a pretty tight budget) and he came in under budget.

I needed to get my inspection for tag renewal. But it didn't pass. Gary recommended Budget Muffler down the road, who made the repairs in 15 min., and I was able to get the white slip that same day, and got the tags for my vehicle.Vehicle: Toyota
