10/10 I would highly recommend Waltz Auto to anyone needing any type of service repair done. I've used Waltz now on several different occasions and was never left disappointed. From there quick and friendly service to there unbeatable prices this us all around my go to auto shop for my 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. A special thanks to the owner, for working with me and being so understanding with my last auto repair. I wouldn't know what I would do if I had to drive in this cold weather with my children with no running heat. Thank you for your incredible service.

I usually don t write reviews, but I have to write one for this incredible service from this place like they know what they re doing and are very friendly with everyone My car was blowing cold air while on heating mode( yeah it was insane)and they fixed it in no time and now my car s heater is finally working properly yay Like I can t thank these super heroes enough and I humbly appreciate what a great job done!!! I highly recommend Walt s Service for any car issues/problems etc..

I bought a 1972 vw super beetle and took it to Walt s for an idling issue I explained that I wanted to do whatever it needed because i am planning on driving it regularly.They had my car for about a three days and called said it was ready and good to go, I ask if they could inspect the car because I needed to get it licensed. They told me they could and they were there till 5:30 and to pick it up by then. I get there and they have a list of things wrong and say it won t pass inspection. I was going to trailer it home and they acted unsure if I should drive it. We came back a few days later to pick it up paid the bill and left. The car didn t make it a block it was doing the exact same thing it was doing when I dropped it off. When we called they ask us if it had gas. Then sent someone to look at it then eventually towed it back. The issue I had wasn t fixed I don t think they even test drove it. They acted like it was an inconvenience to explain to me what was wrong with it and like they really didn t want to work on it. I was so upset with the experience I had with them. He did end up replacing the fuel pump and charged me for the part and half the labor but I also paid 200 dollars for the initial visit which I m convinced they didn t even test drive it. I would recommend anyone considering where to take their vw go to Tom s imports, I took my vw over there immediately after leaving toms it was still having issues and I needed another opinion for the repairs the car still needed and they have been so helpful and have had exceptionally good customer service I just picked up my car and was informed the fuel pump they put on was used and for ever part they put on they charged over 4x what it actually cost. I can t say enough just go to Tom s Imports. Walt s is a joke and Brandon is a crook. Then he calls me after my review to scream and cuss at me and call me names like a child instead of a business owner. I included pictures of the used part he put on my car. I will also be telling everyone I can find to listen about how this business operates.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I took my 06 Jetta to Walt's to diagnose an issue with the AC system and an electrical issue I was having that was draining the battery. I made an appointment and waited a week to take the car in. Walt's had the car for 13 days, called me only one time (I called them 5 different times) to basically tell me they didn't want to fix the vehicle, and THEN charged me $370 to fix nothing. The charges were a diagnostic charge, parts, and labor. This would all be acceptable and I would be willing to pay if that actually diagnosed the problem, in this case they did not definitively find the problem. $40 was to diagnose the electrical issue that I fixed myself once I got it back home.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Air conditioning

I could not have had a better experience at Walt s. After learning that I was stranded in Columbia in the middle of the road trip, the owner personally offered to get the parts I needed shipped to the repair shop overnight. The next morning, he and his team charged my battery for me and did my alternator repair in just a couple hours so that I could be on my way. The prices for parts and labor at Walt s were half of what the VW dealership quoted me. I am so very thankful for the respect and kindness I experienced in his shop. I will not be trusting anyone else with my repairs because clearly these guys are the best in town. Thank you!!!

They are always really helpful. I usually get parts from them for my old VW and they do everything to help me to find the part or a solution even though I fix my car by myself. And I love the fact that they still carry old VW parts.

Been a long time customer here. Always have the best service and it's very affordable compared to the dealer ship. Over 200k miles on my car and it's still running great!

This is absolutely the best place to take your vehicle in Columbia!! I have a Porsche and didn t have a clue on what was going on with it. Had a few people look at it and couldn t figure it out. Took it to Walt s and they had me out the same day within a few hours. The service is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. This was my first time going to Walt's and I am very happy to have found them. Brandon was great, explained a lot about my car and tires and what I will need coming up next time, and showed that he really cared. The other guys in there were good too. Place is very busy which I take as a good sign, and it appears they have a great deal of experience with VWs from listening to their conversations. Wow!!! There are no businesses like this around anymore. Brandon lost money on making things right with us. He went above and beyond what any mechanic service would have ever done and took a huge hit doing it. My son's car would not run, we replaced fuel pump after fuel pump and it still wasn't running. They made a separate tank to figure out what was going on and spent weeks cleaning a mysterious substance off of some fuel screen. Then apologized for taking so long!!! It was the strangest problem I'm surprised they even found it! Brandon capped the labor because we had spent so much trying to get it going. Just drove the car back to Jefferson City and it's never driven better.I saw another review here recommending another mechanic down the road, I won't mention the name, we have taken a car there and paid $70 for diagnoses when we were told it would be $50. The diagnosis was completely wrong and the owner, same name as the business, was extremely rude!! Walts is the best. I find it hard to believe Brandon would ever be rude or not do everything in his power to satisfy his customers. We are loyal customers of his from now on.Service: Engine repair

My son and I went to COMO for a quick day trip to tour Mizzou. When we were getting ready to leave and head back to STL, a flashing red battery light was on the dash with an alert Alternator at fault . We didn t know what to do or whether it was safe to drive so we pulled into Walt s for them to advise us. They were busy, two weeks out from being able to take new appointments yet they were so very helpful. They did a quick scan of our car and told us it would not be safe to drive home. We have AAA so called them to have the car and both of us towed back to St. Louis however AAA was not able to get to us until the next morning. After calling several other local tow companies and rental car companies they finally hooked me up with a rental, which allowed us to drive home. They ordered apart and called the very next day that our car was ready. I could have been in that rental car for two weeks waiting for them to get to our car but they worked extra hard to get our car done so that I was only in the rental 24 hours. I cannot thank them enough for all they did to try to help us out!!Service: Transmission repair

We had our tire pressure light come on and no idea what was wrong, we found Walt's Service Inc on Google and pulled in to find our tire pressure was dangerously high, Brandon was excellent, extremely helpful and courteous and totally saved our bacon!

Just purchased my first ever VW and knew there were some a/c issues. After talking around with others, Walt's, was the name that kept getting recommended. I live over an hour away and even with that the staff at Walt's made me feel like a next door neighbor. These guys were great to work with when servicing my a/c and went above and beyond to make sure things were done prompt and correctly. You guys have made a friend forever and a customer for life. Thank you so much for taking good care of me and the wonderful service!

Had an unexpected mechanical issue with my Mini Copper while passing through Columbia. Walt s got me in last minute with a quick turnaround. Saved me a ton of money on towing and rental car fees and just made the whole situation a lot less painful. Brandon was super down to earth, friendly, and accommodating. Walt's is great. They have an honest staff willing to answer any questions you might have about a repair. I was impressed with their collective knowledge and quality of service. Couldn't be happier with the turbo replacement they did for me; they thoroughly diagnosed the issue, checked on the things I requested be checked while it was on the lift, and replaced the turbo with a new, OEM one. I will definitely be back for any service my vehicle requires in the future.

I have been using Walt s since 2004. They have helped maintain all my vehicles and have always been extremely helpful. Recently the owner personally gave me a ride back to work and came back to get me when my vehicle was done. They go above and beyond to be helpful and honest. They do a fantastic job!!!

These guys are great. Really friendly and great at explaining what they will do/have done. I really enjoy working with them. They have saved me so much money on repairs compared to what the Mercedes dealership would charge. I highly recommend them and their service.

I have a 2012 VW Tiguan that just turned 50,000 miles. I moved to Columbia 2 years ago. My nephew suggested I try Walts. I cannot tell you how pleased I am. They take such good care of my vehicle and me as a customer! Their communication skills are top notch. Nothing has ever been done without my approval! I know how much everything is before they start working on the car. Sometimes not so pleasant, but you're not going there for tea and crumpets. These guys are honest, hard working, Experts on European and mostly German ie. Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and my passion, VW. If you have any of these makes. And you're not going to the dealership, then take it to Walt. They are the only people who ever touch my car. Except them. They have earned my 100% Trust and loyalty. Hard to find honest folks these days, Walt is always up front honest and acts with integrity. Go see em. Tell em Vlad sent you.

Highly Recommended:I could give a four instead of five, but I decided to give a five since I felt they are honest. Went there a few times. It is an old school auto service! The owner is a very nice person, and the staff are also very helpful! The labor and prices are very reasonable. They usually explain what exactly is wrong with the car, and if you need or don't need to change anything. The only problem is that they usually don't have all the parts and they have to order them from other stores, which is fine.

Very attentive care. From KC and needed a quick diag. Ended up having parts on hand (for a Porsche Cayenne S even) and was able to get us back on the road in short time. Reasonable prices and friendly communication were icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

Walt's shop has worked on three of my vehicles during the past couple of years. Results were excellent, and I found their prices competitive with other shops in the area. Everyone there is helpful and courteous. My vehicles include domestic brand trucks and suv's so be aware Walt's work is not limited to just imported models. Best to make an appointment.

We were on the 2nd day of a 3 week road trip in a 2014 Tiguan from Denver to east coast when check engine light came on in Columbia, MO. Found Walt's Service on Google and Brian told us to come over even though they had a busy schedule. Brian and Dustin diagnosed the problem, had the part to fix the problem and within 30 minutes we were back on the road. Super grateful that they saved our trip! Man I really wanted to like these guys. I had bought an Audi just out of warranty and needed a shop that I could trust to do everything. A LED turn signal light went out on my driver side mirror so I took it in to get checked out. Walt said that LED do not normally go out to which I agreed and thought it was probably a wiring issue. He ordered a new LED anyway to which I had no issue with as long as it got fixed. I gave the car to him in the morning but stated that I needed it back by the end of the day. At the end of the day I called him to tell him that I'm coming to get it and in return I got a very expletive filled response as how he couldn't figure out what is going on. I went up there, talked to him and eventually I agreed to pay for the new LED and labor which didn't resolve the issue (just under $200). About 6 months down the road I order a trim removal kit and decide to take a look at what is going on. I remove the door trim and the first thing I notice is that the wire running from the mirror to the module is loose. I refit it and viola! Fixed. We could have worked something out but the dude was seriously unprofessional about the whole thing. To add insult to injury when they put my mirror back together it isn't fit properly and now there is a high pitched whistle as I drive down the road. I do wanna say that they didn't seem like bad guys. We even talked a lot about cars which I liked. I really wish my first experience hadn't been bad.

I've been taking my vehicle there since I purchased my first VW back in 2010. The service level is top notch, very knowledgeable staff and always able to explain the repairs and service in detail. It s great to have a family owned and operated shop locally that you can always trust. Thanks Walt s!

I think they tried but there just isn't anyone out there who can repair cars if the computer doesn't tell them exactly what is wrong. Brandon did his best to make it right with me but the car still doesn't run and we're down another $1100. So $3500 later and were just throwing the car away.
