Incompetent and overpriced.Went in to replace a leaking hose for my power steering. Came back to pay over $400 in LABOR ALONE. For reference, the vehicle was only there and being worked on for, presumably, about a day (dropped it off Monday at 3, picked the vehicle up Wednesday around the same time). How long did they work on it to justify such a price?! Even if they banged out a ten-hour shift on my truck alone (which there's no way in Hell replacing the hose would've taken so long) that's over $40 PER HOUR.Adding insult to injury, I drove to work and heard a horrible scraping noise coming from the engine and thought it might be the belt because of where the sound was coming from. No. My husband popped the hood and found a wrench wedged up inside of the belt area. So, either they missed a whole wrench while diagnosing/working on my vehicle, or they're the ones that left it behind in the first place. Either way, the situation REEKS of not only incompetence, but gross negligence on their part. This could've been an extremely costly repair had the wrench wound up anywhere delicate.Will most definitely not be taking it back, and I urge others to exercise caution when bringing anything more complicated than an oil change their way.You'll be paying out the gills for shoddy work.

Do not recommend taking your vehicle to new owners !!!!!!!!Made an apt to have my truck looked at to see if it had transmission problems or possibly something else. On the fifth day of them having it they still hadn t had time to look at it. At the end of the day I called again to be sure they said they still hadn t had time to look at it so I said I was coming to pick it up in 15 min. When I got there they said I owed 85$ for diagnosing it. I literally just got off the phone 15 minutes ago and they said they still hadn t looked at it yet they wouldn t give me the keys unless I paid them.DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!Update. They had told me ultimately it needed a transmission.Took it to a different shop all it needed was a $300 part

My husband got the truck back after brakes and other things done truck still made noise and my husband had told the owner he said it's ceramic brakes and thats what they do come to find out they put his brakes on wrong won't ever go.back

We decided to take our truck in for an alignment. All was great, reverse and everything worked fine. We left it there, trusting we were in good hands. Upon coming back, they decided to tell us the transmission started to malfunction, so they decided to put extra oil in there. We DID NOT receive a call asking to put that there or any call at all by any means. Now, the transmission is out and we are having to replace it, costing us so much more money . A second opinion told us there was too much oil and it was messed up. Do not recommend this place at all.

Had several jobs done here. Had to take it back several times to redo. Latest was engine replacement. Leaks oil after new engine installed and new gaskets. When had oil changed for new engine break in period found out oil plug wasn't tight and had no gasket on oil plug. Double Eagle helped us with moving a park model rv here at Lakeview Campground on Indian Point. They knew just what to do and got the job done. I wouldn t hesitate to call them again. They know what they re doing.

Took a older Nissan to them a while back ago and asked for them to fix my power driver window, all they did was slap some scrap pieces of wood and cardboard to hold my window up and called that fixed

My husband and I have used Blackie for brakes, rack and pinion, and general inspection. Always get right in and work has always been quick and well done. Ive been a customer for at least 6 years now, always a positive experience.

Fantastic shop in Aurora.. Daren is great along with Linda and team! They want to ensure every customer is happy and satisfied with their service. Barton s has been around for a long time now and you don t stay in business if your not doing something right. Will continue to come this location for my auto repair work.

I get my inspections here and I had an alignment done. All the staff are friendly. They got me in quickly no complaints.

I recently had the body control module go out in my car. They found me a used one under warranty and saved me hundreds of dollars on the repair. I have been going to the shop for about 10 years and have never had a bad experience. I think they do a great job and have always given me excellent costumer service.

If you have vehicle problems this is the place to go. I've been using Barton's for approximately 2 years and I'm very very pleased. They have outstanding service along with outstanding Customer Service. They go out of there way to make sure you are happy with the work they performed. They stand behind there work as well. I'll use Barton's again when the need arises and recommend them in a heart beat.

Worst auto shop I've been to. I had an appointment for an alignment at 2pm. I was told my truck would be done by 3:30-4pm. They didn't explain to me if my vehicle was good to have an alignment or not! I asked what about my truck and the lady was on the phone and completely ignored me. I came back in and they haven't even got my truck on the racks because a lady who had an appointment at 2:30 had her vehicle aligned before mine. Front office lady lied about my appointment and was very rude and said the lady was before me. They test drove my truck like it was a rental. Will not ever return to give them business. Poor ownership and sad to see this business be handed down to people with pride!

I had my car towed to the shop thinking it just needed the computer reset but found out it needed a needed a new engine. I wasn't prepared for that but they worked with me and once I had the money they got right on it. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend them.

They wouldn't work on my 95 Ford Taurus. And said they didn't have the tools to work on it. Then this year I had them replace a water pump in my vehicle. They told me it would only cost $500 for the labor if I bought the water pump and parts so I did and then while it was in the shop they told me it needed a new timing chain and timing chain tensioners for my car. So I bought them at Auto Zone. Then they told me the timing chain wasn't the right one and they put one in of their own without talking to me about it first and a couple other parts and charged me three times the amount that Auto zone would have for the parts. Then when they said my car was done they tacked on another $150 which made it $650. When they told me it wouldn't cost any more to have the other parts put on while they were putting the water pump in. And now my vehicle won't run right and is knocking. And my car ran just fine before they replaced the water pump in it. And they didn't put the coolant in it that I had bought and gave them to put in it. So I took the car back to have them look at it and see what the problem was and they're trying to tell me that it wasn't their fault and they charged me $45 to look at it and tell me that the rocker arm or push needs you're being replaced in the engine.

I just moved here from out of state and was unsure of what mechanic to use I figured someone that has been in business as long as them was very professional.they were extremely helpful and extremely patient with me and they did exceptional work. They will be the only place I go to from now on. The people complaining about price on here. You get what you pay for.

Fast friendly affordable service. Got my RV in and out in one day. New front upper and lower ball joints replaced, New shocks and alignment of front end and tires rotated. Small town friendliness and service

Don't go here if you want your car to pass inspection. They will lie to you to try make a buck. I have been in the Automotive business for 16 years and I know a crooked shop when I see one. They tried to tell me my car needed parts and even pointed to a front strut being out, which was brand new. I wouldn't let this shop work on my lawn mower because it's probably over their head.

Barton is fast and efficient. They walk you through what is going on with your car and give you options to fit your budget and to keep your car running. They don't push sales on you and they keep your best interest at heart.

As an employee of Bartons Service I Would like to address a few of our negative posts here on our reviewOur chevy traverse owner....... this vehicle was driven to our location with multiple engine trouble codes, the owner (husband) gave us the history on this vehicle saying it was purchased from an auction in texas, had salvage title due to hail damage on this 2009 traverse wit 56000 miles...initially upon coming into the shop I notified the owner that it had been wrecked on the passenger side, had broken engine mounts, broken plastics and needed a timing chain to fix his trouble codes and runability problem as well and an alignment, the owner tried to get the chevy dealer to do the work since it was covered on a recall but they declined due to the salvage title, the owner then told us that he would have to come up with the money to do it so we placed the vehicle in our impound lot while we worked on vehicles that came in the shop during that time, we then worked out a 75% down payment to start working on the vehicle with payments on the remaining balance of $600.00, we informed the customer that since it was first taking into the shop and during the waiting period we had taken in several big jobs such as engine replacement or transmission replacements, we pulled the traverse in at the closest availability and had to drop the engine out with the transmission from the bottom of the vehicle and within a matter of 3 days it was back on the road....... the customers wife called twice daily and may have gotten the hateful attitude from the constant calling............ now not only did the customer and his wife get divorced they are now not paying the remainder of the bill due to it being her car and she won't pay or its his problem because he made the arrangements....... I think our shop has been more then fair in this matter.......now our next negative review......when doing alignments people assume you can bring it in the shop, align it and be done.....not true, front suspension needs checked, a test drive needs to be done and yes sometimes to check wheel bearing noise or see how a vehicle reacts to certain things you must drive them a little harder then you would day to day, scheduling and alignment can only take an hour if there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, in essence a vehicle should never need aligned unless the owner hits a curb or has worn out front end parts, now if you ask a person a question but she is on the phone with another customer, I believe the rude thing to do is interrupt the phone conversation expecting her to drop everything due to your needs, it's a busy business, everyone has needs and yours are no less important but please understand there is an order to things, scheduling isn't a science, sometimes things run longer then others......now our next negative review......timing belt and water pump job, this car was ran with no water due to bad water pump, multiple other problem occur when an engine is ran for more then 5 minutes without coolant, this car came in and after hearing how long it was driven this way the technician advised the customer that it was not cost effective to repair this engine, we did the work per customers request, it did not work out great and for that we are sorry, we advised our opinion and now it's our fault......... sorry your expectations of your vehicle exceeded automotive miracle.......now the transmission in the dodge dakota, this was a factory v6 engine truck the customer had put a v8 engine in, his transmission was aftermarket and needed a notch cut out of it for the crank sensor to gain signal from the flywheel, the job we did was try our best at a reasonable cost to fix the problems this customer created for him self, the truck was a project truck with minimal knowledge by the customer on how his vehicle was manufactured, our goal is automotive excellence and unfortunately for the customers that don't want to spend the money for the right parts it's extremely difficult to do the job the right way... We value all of our customers in ever aspect thank you!
