I've been going to Larry's for 37 years. Brought my old car in today for a check engine light. Donna took care of it quickly...turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor, and for half or less of what it would have been at the dealer. Larry may be gone and the place is quieter but I see the same competent mechanics there. They know their stuff. This is still a great station to go to.

I've been going with Larry since last year and I have to say he's really fast and great when it comes to car repairs. So far all the maintenance fixes from him are great.Majority of the repairs are done within the day and he won't constantly annoy you to grab your car once it's done. One phone call and you can pick up whenever.It won't be the cheapest service, but it's within reason and definitely worth it.

I went to the office requesting an estimate price to change my brakes pad. The front desk person "Donna" said there is no cost to give an estimate price. But after 2 hours she called me asking $987 (almost one thousand dollars to change the pads). When I said that I would not do any service she charged $50 "inspection fee" and say if I won`t pay she will not give my car back. So I offered to pay by debit or credit card and she insisted to receive CASH. I had to go to the bank take the money and pay. MY RECOMMENDATION IS STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

I used to love this place when Larry the owner ran it. It has changed so much. Not as much personal feel or attention to detail since he has been gone. Prices have gone up and takes more time to do things. Not as happy and not sure of I am going to stay. For big repairs I may go here because I feel they are still honest with what needs to be fixed and when.

My family have been going to Larry Ng s auto service for over 10 years. Larry and crew serviced three land cruisers and one Toyota Sequoia through that time. Most recently Donna has taken over the business or at least is now the person you interact with at the Desk. I dropped my car off with an AC issue and squeaking breaks. I called at 11 for an update and was told they would call back in an hour. No call by 2 so I called again and they had not even looked at the car. I said do not bother I will come down and pick it up, to which Donna curtly responded no problem. When I arrived there was a mechanic under the hood of my car and I asked did you find the AC leak and what is wrong with the breaks. He responded no to the leak and I need new rear breaks ( he also said I sorry I just started 2 weeks ago). In March I had my rear breaks done by Donna 5k later Ineed new ones?? When I asked Donna why the lack of communication and how is it possible for me to need new breaks? She responded you did not tell me you needed your car back, when filling out the repair sheet (strange customers fill out repair orders??) and asked was I accusing her of being dishonest. Again fantastic customer service skills. At this point I decided to take my business elsewhere. The reason the entire town of Wellesley took their cars to Larry was because he was fair, honest, and fast. In my experience these qualities no longer exist at Ng s Auto Repair.

I have been going to Larry's for 23 yrs but today that all changed. Repair quote was $300 more than Herb Chambers dealership (Larry's was after market, Herb was factory parts and it was still $300 difference).Since Larry left, they have added a $50 charge for "diagnostics." Never had seen anything like that in the last 23 yrs while Larry was running the show.FYI, they no longer do state inspections.Finally, was told on the phone that it could be done in AM so I stuck around, then they said I had leave the car or come back later. Way to manage my time & expectation.Stay away from this joint. It has lost everything since Larry has left. Yoda has left the building and the dark side has taken over.PS...there is a reason why the lot looks less full these days :-(

I worked at this service station under Larry Ng for almost five years; Larry is a class act and one of the most honest and reputable mechanics I know. Last month, I stopped in for a quick oil change (brought my own oil and filter) and tire rotation. New management charged me $40.00....FORTY DOLLARS....FOR A TIRE ROTATION. I have over 7 years in the auto industry and even when working for a dealership, I never charged this much to any customer. This station has always held a place in my heart for great service and fair prices and it hurts my heart to say STAY AWAY. It is not what it use to be and I feel ripped off by the woman at the desk making up the prices just to make a buck. The lot is empty, the Gulf station had to be sold due to mismanagement, and no familiar faces are there anymore. Buyer beware.

I feel that Larry and his mechanics are very trustworthy. They always show me what was wrong with my car, and I have never felt taken advantage of. I will continue to have my car serviced there, and recommend them to friends.

I've been going to Larry Ng for almost 20 years. Consistently gives good advice in spite of being very busy all the time. He have never tried to oversell or overcharge; and more than once advised me to save paying him for repairs and buy a new car. After 4 cars and many visits over the years, he made one mistake, overlooking a maintenance item, and he insisted on making it right for free. Best to make an appointment because the flow in/out is non-stop!

I took my car here on a recommendation from a friend who had brought their cars here for years when it was under Larry s ownership but was warned he didn t know anything about how the new owner runs the business. I called first thing in the morning and was told sure no problem we ll get to it right away and get back to you. After no call all morning I called back myself and was told they were just waiting on a part but it would be done soon and then I could be given an estimate but I was looking at about $1000 or a little less of work. So all afternoon goes by, no one calls or is even picking up when I call. I finally get in touch with them and they tell me now it s $1600, all of these new things need repairing and they can t even think about starting the work until tomorrow. I was from out of town and couldn t spend another day waiting for it so I told them I would get it towed elsewhere to which they were rude and condescending saying any other mechanic would tell me the same thing. I brought it somewhere else and was told it was a decently quick fix and that it would be $450 worth of work. Moral of the story: even if your car breaks down a foot from this station, get it towed somewhere else.

I have been going to Larry for almost thirty years. In this time he has taken care of my cars and treated me as a valuable customer. Once I found Larry, I have never gone to anyone else. His service is the best and he always fixes the problem.

Larry was the best. Now that he is gone, this is no longer the Larry Ng services you could expect. The new owner is greedy. An exhaust pipe repair they ask for more than two thousand dollars. No more free estimate. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I've been going to Larry for over 10 years. In Feb 2010, my 2000 Toyota Camry I had a check engine light come on. Larry inspected my car and told me to go buy a new one. He didn't charge me. I came back a month later and had him fix it for $4k. He expressly said there were no guarantees something else wouldn't break. 3.5 years later and no issues. My roommate had a problem with his Bonneville. It would just die randomly. He finally took it to larry after another shop couldn't find it. Larry found nothing, but told my roommate to call when it happened again. Luckily, the Bonneville died a few miles away after being looked at by Larry. Larry found and fixed the problem. That's service. I don't take my car anywhere else.

For the second time now, we had oil and transmission fluid changed and they didn't tighten the screws or seal it properly bc fluid is leaking on our garage floor. The first time we had it done, it leaked from their garage all the way to my house. They need to slow down and do the job well.

Most honest car repair man I know. Tried using some other places close to home but they don't come close to Larry who gives it to you straight and is not trying to rip you off.

Larry has been taking care of our family's cars for a decade plus, unless I was out of the area, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I had a flat fixed here - they did a quick and good job. My only complaint is that the space is tight, which can make it difficult to maneuver.

I went to get an inspection and was treated extremely rudely by one of the staff members. I left without the inspection and will take my car elsewhere for all maintenance in the future.
