I visited my family there over Easter weekend and had a fun day with my niece doing arts and crafts (the woman leading the activities was very sweet and helpful). The Saturday dinner was nice and enjoyable but I was a little put off by the filthy shirts and hoodies the serving staff were wearing! For a place so well kept I was surprised by that. The park should provide staff with new clean gear!

My family took advantage of an extended November closing season special for Thanksgiving weekend.First off, the host husband & wife management team and all their staff were extremely hospitable. My family has never done Thanksgiving outside of a family member home. Although we have often considered it.This was better than going out to a restaurant. My pitch to my family was, instead of bringing us all to a surrogate Thanksgiving, let's bring Thanksgiving to us. And Pine Lake RV Resort and cottages did not disappoint. This time, we took the plunge, and our hosts were gracious enough to make us feel right at home. The complete meal was awesome, and the smoked turkey was fantastic. Accompanied by complimentary beverages. We're already planning on spending next Thanksgiving here.

Beautiful campground and in a great location! Very clean and the staff really seems to care about your comfort and needs. The pool and hot tub were really nice and also clean. The pool area did get a bit over-crowded on the weekend but that was to be expected. I was so happy to see that they have people lifts for not only the pool but for the hot tub as well to accommodate those with disabilities. High five to the management for thinking of the disabled community. Our site was right at the front of the camp ground which has paved roads and was right next to the store and event centers. The only drawback to this was the lights are kept on all night and the whole area is very lit up which sorta takes away from the camping experience but on the upside, it was convenient to be next to the store. As it was the only area with paved roads, it was very popular with the kids on bikes as it was on a loop so lots of yelling and kids roughhousing. We didn't mind but if you are someone who wants some peace and quiet, you would be better to get a site in the back of the campground. There were a lot of fun activities over the weekend and we had a blast at the Paint and Sip and enjoyed the Saturday night dinner. In conclusion, we had a great time at Pine Lake and look forward to going back again.

I was there a week ago, my first time and i love it, great for the price. The room was neat and clean with everything that was needed. The place is well maintained, and the areas are clean and you can see maintenance all the time. Great and helpful staff , we called them for help with the tv and they came quickly. It's a great place to relax , peaceful and quiet. Beautiful cabins and you feel safe. The pool area was also great, clean with chairs, tables, very appealing. They have some nice activities. Love this place, looking forward to going back next season.

It was definitely for this resort!! And it was under my friend's name. Way overpriced for the quality, location and amenities. The cottages are cute, but were not cleaned very well and the lot sizes were extremely small (slightly bigger than the actual cottage) so you're practically on top of the surrounding sites, which are on all sides. The location is nothing great - it's not like you're in the white mountains or the Berkshires. It's almost like a glorified parking lot - there's barely any trees or nature on any of the lots and cottages or campers were just practically on top of each other. There was definitely no privacy. Trees surround the campgrounds, but are bare within the campgrounds and on the campsites themselves. Also, there is nothing scenic, except for a small lake that looks like a pond. It doesn't look clean because there's so much muck in it like branches, wood, leaves, plant debris, etc. It's definitely not swimmable. Also, the wifi is THE WORST and the T.V. wouldn't even connect to the network. We didn't have T.V. or mobile service for the entire trip, and staff were either not available or couldn't help! Also, it was the last week of the season that they were open, and you'd think that they might lower the price or offer a discount, especially since the pool and spa weren't even open, but they actually raised the prices from what was on listed on their website so they didn't even honor their own pricing! There were so many vacant cottages and campsites that you'd think they'd offer some sort of discount just to, at least, get something (something is better than nothing). There weren't a lot of events going on, and whatever was going on was not even included in the price and you had to pay extra. Also, the staff wasn't that friendly or welcoming. We went to play bingo one night, which started at a certain time and we were there like 20 minutes early, but the girl wouldn't sell us bingo cards because she said that she stops 1/2 hour before it starts and we were 10 minutes late. There was nothing in the brochure that stated buying the cards ended 1/2 hour before the game started. It was all in good fun and not like we were joining a formal gaming match or competition or something! They were very stringent in their ways and rules. However, they didn't hesitate to overcharge for everything or charge extra for whatever they could soak out of you, as if the cost of the campsite wasn't extravagantly priced enough! They offered a barbecue meal one night and it was $20 per person! They did offer a complimentary breakfast one morning, but it was very bare and only had boxed cereal, packaged muffins, yogurt and apples; and they made you feel very uncomfortable because it wasn't even buffet style, where you helped yourself, but rather there was a clan of people standing behind the tables watching you like a hawk and handing out the food to you, like they were ready to attack if you took an extra apple or yogurt or something! Again, the scenery and location were nothing great and like I said, more like a glorified parking lot. I was not impressed with the location, campsites, events, pricing, lack of included items and very disappointed and dissatisfied with the lack of wifi, no T.V. or mobile services and poor customer service. They call it a resort and jack up the pricing, but it's NOWHERE near any type of resort that I've been to. It's more like a Motel 6. I doubt I'd ever go back here again.

We rented a two bedroom cottage and it was spotless. I truly appreciate how clean not only the cottage was but the whole property was well taken care of. Nice family friendly environment with plenty of activities. The pool and hot tub were great! Definitely bring the bikes for the kids as the whole property is a great safe place for them to practice, not to mention it makes it easier to move around. We will definitely be back with our family!Rooms: Linens were provided but if you tend to be cold and are traveling there during the fall definitely bring extra covers.Noteworthy details: Even tho they do have logs for sale there, if you plan on having fires all weekend definitely bring your own wood! Also, even tho it was cloudy and sometimes wet, we had a pop up tent and it was a life saver to continue to hang out outdoors

This campground was fabulous! Very well maintained and clean. We did have issues with our cable, but that did not affect our stay. The pool area was nice but the lake was great. Our dogs were even able to take a swim. Definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Love it here! There is always something going on whether it's bingo, crafts for the kids, a BBQ, etc. The store is well stocked too.The lake didn't look clear enough to swim, but you can rent kayaks and paddleboards and fish in it! The pool was great and clean. We had some minor issues with our cabin, but one was taken care of immediately which was great! We will be back!Rooms: Well stocked and clean.Safety: Gated campground.Walkability: Half of the campground is on a hill, but you can drive up it if you'd rather not walk.Food & drinks: They have food on site on the weekend.

I love this RV Resort the staff are amazing my kids had a blast. This campground has a ton of fun kids activities and the staff interact so well with the kids when leading the activities. The amount of fun family activities that engage all of us each day really made this stay special. The sites are level the hookups all work as desired. This was our first campsite the first time with our camper and this place I cannot say enough positive things about. Only improvement is the bathrooms I think need more frequent attention because of the volume of people and all the sand from the beach the combo of water and sand seemed to track into the bathhouse at night it was kinda eek but they definitely do clean the bathrooms just might need a bit more often attention.

I stayed here with my husband, 8 year old son, and 3 month old daughter this past weekend. I have not a single complaint. Every single staff member I came across was friendly, upbeat, informative and genuine. Shout out to Trish! We booked last minute(same day reservation) because we had an open house to attend nearby, and didn t want to subject our infant to longer than necessary continuous car rides. We got a 1 bedroom cottage, with a pull out couch situated directly on the lake. Stunning views! The cabin was also extremely clean, with fresh linens provided, a refrigerator and microwave. Tons of activities were planned throughout the weekend and all the families we met also had terrific spirits and treated us like family. Too bad we didn t find this place sooner because we would be back again in just a few weeks when we drop our son off at overnight camp in the area, but it looks like they are already booked out. No surprise! 5 stars Nearby activities: Check out Howard s Drive-in for some phenomenal food and ice cream

This was our first time camping at Pine Lake. My husband and I are avid campers and we ve camped all across the country. We've camped for over 20 years from tent camping to our current 38 ft camper, so this review comes from an experienced well versed camper. Pine Lakes website boosts a pool with ample tables and umbrellas. The actual pool has 7 tables and some chairs so space is very limited. The resort store closes at 6pm which is unheard of. If you haven t purchased what you need by 6pm then your SOL. We ve always had dinner and then took the kids to the store for ice cream or a treat but unfortunately we were unable to carry this tradition on. The website also states it s a family campground. In our experience family campgrounds have an abundant amount of things for children to do. Pine Lake has a very small playground located next to the septic leech field so the odors were overwhelming. The pool tables and other activities require getting to the store before they close which again is 6pm. There are several great event halls but no events going on. The activities that were offered were pricey. The small outside cafe had a menu Friday however that menu did not apply on Saturday because there was dinner for $20pp. This was not advertised any where. The sites are extremely close together. I read the reviews before booking and did see this noted in prior reviews. So I was somewhat prepared however it was much closer than I even expected. We could not even have a fire fearing setting the camper or our neighbors camper on fire. The response from Pine Lake on the previous reviews was basically that it was the campers fault for not calling instead of booking online. I did appreciate having a staff member at the pool to monitor the activity and intervene as needed. It appears they have put some money into the campground. I think the money would have been better spent on a nicer playground and staff to man the store until a more reasonable time. There did seem to be a lot of adult based activities such as bingo and paint and sip. If the campground is more geared towards adult then it should be clear and state this on the website. The morale of the campground was also concerning. We struck up conversations with a few other guests who were just as surprised and disappointed as we were. Underwhelming for sure.

This was our second trip to Pine Lake. The first time was last year on Columbus weekend and there was a ton of Halloween activities and the place was packed! We loved it!! This year was July and not too much going on. When we arrived on Friday the place was empty only one other camper on our row. No live entertainment and no new activities other than family feud. The campground is beautiful but could do with another pool for the summer. It would also be nice to have a little cafe we re you could get snack, coffee, etc. Seems to be a lot of facilities that are wasted space. We will return as we love the sites, the location and the cleanliness, but definitely room for improvement.

We love Pine Lake campground. Plenty of activities going on for the kids/families. Pool was well kept and it s heated. We ve stayed there twice, in the 700 area and 400 area. We preferred the 700 s, little bit bigger sites and not so close together.

Throughout the reservation process left voice messages no call backs; sent emails and no response; filled out contact us web page no response. When booking the reservation and when entering information for quote there is nowhere to input aaa/aarp number. I received the reservation via email without the AAA discount and had to call back and receive an updated reservation. When making the reservation and putting a deposit down I was told I would receive an email several days prior to arrival stating that the balance due would be posted to my credit card on file. I never received the email. I called the day before arrival, and they told me that the balance was posted to my credit card. The balance posted to my credit card was $10 more than the reservation detail I received. When I called, I was informed that the extra $10 was for a second vehicle. I never received an updated reservation and there is nothing on the web site indicating a charge for a second vehicle. I had to call and receive and updated reservation. We received a late check in email at 4:22 on day of arrival. There is nothing on web site stating this procedure. I was very lucky that we arrived at 5 or we would not have known what to do. This email should be sent the day prior to arrival. The office staff needs a lot of work on their processes and follow-up procedures. They are very close to being totally incompetent. The cabin was very small but very clean. The extra bedroom should have shelves and all doors should have hooks on the inside of the door so you can hang up your clothes. You have to put all of your luggage and clothing under the beds in the second bedroom because there is only one very small closet in the master bedroom. The fire ring is way too close to the road. It should be moved to a location in-between the picnic bench and the lake.

The images online and the entry area appearances do not show that actual conditions of the roads to navigate as well as the conditions of the sites. Dusty dirt and rock roads that involve climbing sharp narrow hills to get to a mostly dirt site. This campground is primarily being used as gathering spot for locals on weekends with a lot of noise and fire smoke past 11 PM.Could be a nice facility for all if all the improvements included the roads and sites.Apparently the locals don't mind.

To start, I write these reviews with my own business clients in mind, mostly couples and individuals preparing to retire. Personally, we are a middle aged family with a pre-teen. We re also New England based, which colors our preferences and expectations. With all this in mind My husband and I are fairly new to camping. We ve visited several campgrounds in the area this year. We like places we can relax, enjoy nature and break up our normal workweek routine. We also want a place that s family-friendly for kids in the sense that we feel that they are safe and have a few activities to do.This campground meets ALL of our expectations! Compared to other options in the general area, this place is one of the most CLEAN we ve visited. It s pretty quiet. Granted we visited during the weekend so it wasn t too crowded. The pool area isn t gigantic but it s terrific. Lots of seating and tables with umbrellas. I m not sure what the expectations are of other reviewers. Around here, you won t find much better. This pool is deep enough but no much we worried about kids diving and jumping around. It s well planned and heated! There are gender-neutral bath-suits (some marked accessible) in various convenient locations all around the park, with parking spaces should you need to drive. These were pristine each time we went. I can t express how important that is in our decision to come back (which we ve already booked!).Next, there s a little well-marked walking trail around the lake. That s nice for a day to day stroll. Only half mile. However, Sturbridge has a ton of parks and hiking trails all around. Incidentally, there s also easy access to shopping for essentials (Walmart and Stop & Shop). The sites are well maintained grass and gravel. All sites I believe have full hook ups. Lots of variety to meet everyone s needs and preferences. We ve seen other places nearby packed together like sardines. This place is not at all like that. Very spacey in comparison. Again, I think we have realistic expectations given options in Massachusetts with amenities like a pool and access to activities in the area. There s enough for kids to do, including lake activities though that s not something we took advantage off. We liked the quiet feel of nature so we could relax. Where we stayed, we had no problems making a fire and enjoying the evening. In terms of cons: there is a little store that closes early and the staff is always pretty busy. That said, there s a shopping plaza less than 10 mins away. During check in, we received clear instructions on how to use the gate with the code to get in after hours. Lots to do just outside the campground. Also, their website is excellent and easy to use for reservations. Lastly, Wi-Fi is spotty so keep that in mind if you need access for work and such. There really isn t much in terms of cons if you remember this is CAMPING and not Disney. In summary, we all absolutely loved it here and will come back! I m looking forward to future additions and improvements as this is a fairly new campground that was taken under new ownership just before COVID. So far, I think we have a big winner.

We stayed for one night on our way home from a week long camping trip. As it was our last night of vacation we opted to spend a little extra (rate was around $20 more than other campgrounds on our route) in order to stay somewhere that offered more amenities such as a pool, a recreation room, etc to keep the kids entertained. We arrived at 5 and everything was closed, we were able to check in late but had no access to pool balls/cues, corn hole bags, or any other accessories necessary to use the recreation equipment. Our site was tiny and we were right on top of the neighboring site. The facilities that we did have access to were new and clean, which was much appreciated. After dinner we went to enjoy the pool area which was advertised as being open 10-dusk. It was locked up when we arrived at 7:45 with the sky still bright. Sunset at this time of year is close to 9pm in Massachusetts.Overall, the site was fine for one night. It was a disappointing stay and we would not return nor recommend this campground to others.

Staff was very friendly & welcoming upon check in. We purchased firewood from the camp store and our site was quite a distance from the camp store. As we carried the firewood back to our site a gentleman crew member stopped and loaded our bundles of wood into his truck and dropped them at our site. You don t always see this kind and genuine service anymore! We were impressed with the grounds of the campground in general - everything very clean and well kept. We attended the DJ on Saturday night and it was a total bust- minimal attendees and although listed as a DJ it was Karaoke. 4 stars given the playground was much smaller (and had no bucket swing for our toddler) than expected for the price of the campground and being a family resort - very unimpressed/disappointed. We ll definitely return again but hope they plan to eventually redo or revamp the playground! Overall, we enjoyed our stay here!

My husband and I stayed at this campground every year when we came to the Brimfield Antique show and when it was owned by the previous owners. When we got there this past weekend we were very pleasantly surprised at how much it was improved!!! They did an awesome job making the campground what it should be BEAUTIFUL. I bet there is so much activity during the peak season. We will definitely be back next year!! The cottage we stayed in was clean. The only 2 things that were a problem was the lock to enter the cottage wouldn t always work so we had to fiddle with the key in the lock to get the door to finally open. We also needed to do laundry only to get to the laundry facility to find no change machines and there was no small detergent packages to purchase. It was after hours so I couldn t run to the office for change or detergent. I will remember that for next year. I think all the laundry facilities should have both items.

This place is amazing! We rolled in after hours but were greeted by someone on staff asking if we'd been here to offer help with anything. We stayed at spot 224 which was amazing and right by the activities for the night (DJ and karaoke ). We had no idea how great this place would be and really hope we can come back soon!Unfortunately this was a one night stop on our way to Maine but we're so lucky to have found a gem on the route for the future.Keep up the good work!

Our site, as well as others around us, was unsafe with railroad ties and twisty rubber to determine edges of site. I almost fell a couple of times. Also, bring your own internet access, what they provide is weak and sketchy. It is a beautiful park, but I wish there were adult or handicapped only areas to avoid crying babies, screaming kids, and those riding bikes so fast they have little regard for people in their way.The park is very Hilly. Basically on a mountain edge, from the first site in the park everything is uphill. The swimming beach was overgrown and was used by several for fishing. The entertainment area was gorgeous with outdoor seating and gas firepits. The weather didn't help. Not the park's fault, but overall it is nice park, bring your hiking boots and your own coffee.

We recently had the pleasure of a weekend getaway at Pine Lake Resort. We rented a studio cottage and just like the ad says "all you need to bring is a toothbrush" The cottage was immaculate, pots/pans dishes, linens, towels, everything we needed was right at our fingertips - just add food. We chose a cottage by the lake and it was even better than we imagined it would be. We had a small back porch with chairs and a table for morning coffee overlooking the lake - we could have fished right from the porch we were so close to the lake. The grounds were beautiful to walk, campers very friendly and the staff went out of their way to answer questions and make us feel welcome. We had a great barbecue chicken dinner complete with sides and beverages on Saturday night and our tickets included breakfast on Sunday morning. We were delighted to find the pool and the hot tub still open and took advantage of a nice hot and relaxing soak. There were plenty of activities going on for kids and adults even though it was October. We'll be back again and bring friends and family to make memories at Pine Lake RV Resort & Cottages!

Visited last week of June, 2023. This was our 2nd time at this campground and not much has changed since our visit in 2022. We traveled with 2 orher couples and stayed at sites 462, 461 and 460, Choctaw Way, near the playground and dog park. The sites are fairly large and level. This section of campground is shady, and has a grassy lawn area. The pool, showers and bathrooms, are a short walk up the hill. You can hear traffic from the highway that runs along the back of campground but we never felt it was too much. Make sure you have extra sewer drain hoses for these sites because the distance from the hook-up on the camper to the dump hole is quite far. And once hooked into sewer, they don't have enough pitch so be prepared for a little extra work. We had a great time during our 4 days. Wal-Mart, Yankee Spirits, Stop& Shop is about a 10 minute drive from campground. I made a recommendation last year in my review and I still stand by it - this campground desperately needs a 2nd pool. There are 230 campsites and 55 cabins. The campground was totally renovated in 2020 and continues to be a popular destination for campers. I hope the management can find a way to add another pool for the comfort of all who'd like to use it. If your a family, this would definitely matter especially on a hot July day when there's standing room only. We do recommend Pine Lake and would probably go back.

This place is not a resort at all, for a number of reasons. Here, the customer is always wrong and they like to tell you "no". Staff and most patrons I found were miserable. The sites in the 600s are buddy sites and are not advertised that way. I booked with a friend and they put us on different buddy sites and refused to make it right. My husband was coaching a kids at a very busy basketball court and they decided to close it down 1/2 hr early. When my husband nicely questioned it, the staff member angrily shot back "do you want me to close it for the entire weekend, get out." There was no cable/internet service until late night hours. The pool was cloudy, crowded, and not refreshing. Security and police were rounding about every 20 min for the entire weekend, to the point it was more concerning than making me feel safe. All activities in the pavilion and laundry are dependent on whether the office is open or not and they close at 5. Activities are oriented towards adults. Nothing for teens. They have all these facilities and clubhouses but not one of them are open for rainy day activities like family games/puzzles. Such a waste of space. I'm not picky or high maintenance but if a "resort" advertises certain ammenties and things to do, I except them to be available without a fight. They couldnt even staff an advertised fishing derby! I will say that I met 2 staff members that were wonderful during our stay, Dave and the woman who managed the pool area. They go above and beyond with a smile and not one complaint. Otherwise, if you want a real resort like feel, I recommend going to cold springs rv resort in NH.

Memorial weekend no pool open no notice about this until Sunday when they finally sent email out apologies. The staff this year not friendly not even a nod camped last year 4 times there loved all staff very friendly then. There was a girl on the hayride great with the kids. The maintenance guy very helpful and the two girls at check.in very organized but jeez do the other staff have to be so ignorant. This is a well maintained beautiful campground but could of done without the two girls at register Saturday when we just trying to buy a drink and they so rude not sure if I would go back just yet camping supposed to be relaxing. Again very clean place the landscape is amazing the two people cleaning bathrooms did a great job. But personally I could do without the manager being rude a simple hey how your stay goes a long way. He didn't even acknowledge us and we standing 2 feet from him
