Went to have a battery replaced, car came back with the hood unable to latch closed. Prices the same as any other mechanic. Nice enough folks, but now have to deal with added unnecessary issues for a simple task. Not professional in work ethic. Needless to say, won't be returning.

Not affordable. Prices are exceedingly high and staff aren't the friendliest. Cheaper tires elsewhere in the valley. They essentially quoted me double what I ended up paying for all 4 tires and theu weren't able to offer discounts for doing the wholr car. Was utterly disappointed.

Awesome place! Had one flat tire and a screw in another and they fit me in last minute in a full book. Very honest, kind, helpful employees that will have your best interest in mind. I highly recommend this shop.

I liked these guys at first but then I asked them to do a few things and they just did the bare minimum. I asked them to look at the underneath of my vehicle and they did almost $1500 worth of work without mentioning the body underneath was rotting beyond repair and the body mounts were totally rotted off. No point in doing struts, axle, springs, ball joints, alignments, if the body is not even attaching to the frame! Could have at least mentioned it. Not a body shop is no excuse for something so obvious to any decent mechanic. I m no mechanic but I figured this out and they did acknowledge they were aware. They knew if I went to do the mounts I d find a bunch of other rot and potentially not do the other work cuz the vehicle has no more resale value. Gas tank has a minor leak, rocker panels are gone. They told me the vehicle looks ok for it s age and for a NE vehicle. Never mentioned any of this other stuff. So beside the point. Ernie s garage agreed they would have mentioned the rot before doing all the other work because the vehicle still has the same issues when going over bumps etc. I brought this to their attention and they just argued it was in decent shape. No reason to ignore these other major issues.

Been here twice, once to get brakes replaced and once to get a tire repaired. Everyone here is friendly and the service was been great. You never want to HAVE to get your tires and brakes fixed but if you do, Northampton Tire is the place!

For the three years I lived in Northampton, I took my car here for tire needs - new tires, snow tires, rotations, balancing, alignments, brakes, etc. They always understood I am a necessarily budget-conscious person and never tried to upsell me - they always gave me the "good value for your money" options. They are kind and honest - "old-fashioned service" as some would say. The fact that my dog lets these guys pet him says a lot, because my dog is indifferent to or downright mistrusting of most people.They will err on the safe side timewise, which I appreciate. My car never took longer than the time estimate they gave me. Not to say that things don't come up, but on a whole, expect to get your car back when they say you will.There are a string of tire shops along King Street. If they have time to fit you in when you need them to, choose local, and choose this one first.

We live around the corner from Northampton Tire. When we lost our cat I went into Northampton Tire and found her asleep in a tire display. Russ and the crew had taken her in, fed her, got her a litter box and taken her to the vet to see if she had a chip in her to identify her owner. They'd found her wandering on King St. and wanted her to be safe.I am updating this review to say that we had a problem with the traction control/ABS brakes on our Honda and Lia Honda of both Enfield and Northampton, Hyannis Honda and Balise Honda all tried to fix it and couldn't. They all charged us money but the problem never went away. Northampton Tire took one crack at it and it was fixed. We paid over $1000 to dealers who failed to fix the problem.After 10 years of great honest service I wouldn't go elsewhere.

I feel So SPECIAL here! Mr. RUSS got me in with 50 cars on-site. I was DESPERATE! Fixed my Ride in 1 day, and WE passed OUR STATE INSPECTION 2023... until NEXT YEAR! LMBO! THANK YOU, SIR!

This place makes me happy. Old fashioned customer service, super friendly workers. Never once have I driven away unhappy. Reasonable prices in today's market. It's my go to garage.

I emailed Northampton tire for a quote on 4 new tires for my Subaru. Within a couple of hours I had a quote and appointment scheduled. I waited inside the shop for my tires to be done and it only took about an hour. Russ, who was working the front desk, was extremely helpful.

I highly recommend going to Northampton Tire after the experience I just had.The wheel bearing on my Accord was making a ton of very unpleasant noise after hitting a pothole and they fixed it and got me in and out in the same day, literally within hours. They didn't try to upsell me on anything else and were extremely straightforward, it was excellent.The staff is friendly, communicative and does great work. The car drives and feels great now. It was really affordable and lightning quick. Definitely going to be be taking my car to them from now on for any issues I have.

Have been going to these guys for over 10 years with 4 different cars. They are fantastic -- honest and dependable (and nice!), they always do good work. Highly recommended.update 03/2020: Two cars later we still only go to Northampton Tire. They recommended a great place when we needed body work, they tell us what needs to get done vs. what can wait, and they are always nice and always fit us in.

Called the shop a day in advance for simple tire repair, however when I arrived at the designated time, I was rudely denied service until the next day, and was told that it wouldn t even be ready until the very end of the following day. I took my business elsewhere and the other shop had the tire fixed and ready for me in less than 20 min. I do NOT recommend Northampton Tire for emergency repair situations. Very disappointing, unreliable service, and unfriendly staff.

I got my first car and was ridiculously nervous about maintenance and repairs! I didn't want to enter the shady and intimidating world of auto mechanics but unfortunately my car was so old I couldn't avoid it. After a long of asking around, I settled on Northampton Tire, and I'm so glad I did. I knew I could trust them from the first phone call when I asked for a quote for a repair I knew I needed - not only were they able to give me a quick and reasonable price, but they also explained what I should look out for and how long they thought I could go without the repair. Ever since then, I've only become more convinced about how honest and reliable they are. The people at Northampton Tire are patient, and are willing to explain the intricacies of car repair to a layperson like me. I like to be very involved in my car's inspection and repair and they're always happy to have me in the bay asking a million questions. I've gotten excellent workmanship and service from them. They're great about giving me timelines & estimates for upcoming repairs, and they're happy to work with me to find a cheaper solution when I'm stressed out! And they never charge me for dropping by with maintenance tasks or questions - as a poor college student I appreciate that so much!

If you're looking to get you're car serviced this IS the place. They will help you out and charge a reasonable amount for the labor. They took locking lugs off my roommates car for free when our lug key broke. Friendly and professional. Will only have the work on my car done there from now on.

Excellent service. Very responsive to needs. Russ and his staff have helped me out of jams like a flat tire at the end of the day. Work is quite reliable, a good value, and above all very honest. we've been servicing our cars here for years and have always been pleased.

My Silverado needed new tires after 65k miles so I stopped into Northampton Tire. I was greeted upon walking through the door, and was served immediately. The salesman took the time to discuss my options and was very informative. The tires I wanted had to be ordered, and I was told they would arrive on the same day! I was called as soon as the tires arrived at the shop, and returned to have them installed. By the time I sat down in the lobby, my truck was already on the lift. The installation of 4 new tires took less than an hour, which really impressed me. The installation was done well, the tires were well-balanced, and I felt they took pride in their work. Their price was reasonable and comparable to TireRack and other retailers. They followed up by explaining their policies regarding road hazards and tire rotations going forward through the life of the tires. Very impressed with their service and will definitely return!

I have been bringing my car here for service for years and years. It can be hard to find a mechanic that you can trust, but the staff at Northampton Tire has mine. From small stuff like oil changes to major repairs, they have taken care of it for me. The one time that something went wrong with a repair that they had done, they stood behind their work and made sure that it was take care of for me. When something needs to be done they won't always steer me towards the most expensive option, they will make an honest recommendation. I'll keep coming back here when my car needs service.

The best tire and brake service! Had my tires replaced within 3 weeks of moving to area and the team was courteous, prompt and honest. Today the tow truck brought in my car in for a possible brake issue the noise was terrible. Russ and team put the car on the lift and within 5 mins discovered two troublesome stones in the brake pad! All done promptly and honestly. I can t thank this team enough for a warm welcome and honest service in Happy Valley. Highly recommend Northampton Tire.

They do all my work. Able to get parts for a 10 year old Honda element,and they're always able to squeeze me in if I have an emergency. I live nearby, and they always give me a ride back and forth. Never felt ripped off, tire prices reasonable. Started going to them about five years ago because the Honda dealer up the street had horrible service.

In addition to other minor repairs in the past, they just replaced my clutch in under 24 hours with me dropping it off with maybe 10 minutes notice. Obviously, that won't be the case every time, but they are quick and the prices are reasonable. Their clutch job was also done much better than one of the more popular Northampton garages (hint: it's near the parking garage) did on my wife's car a few years ago. Great place to go, especially if you're not a car person and worried about getting ripped off.

They were very professional and took good care of me. Only thing was it was $700 on my card complete and it won't up costing a little over $800 because of programming and so onBut they explained everything I would go back

I had a brake line go on my Caravan last night, so I brought it in this morning and they diagnosed and fix the problem in just a couple of hours and I was back to work. Can't say enough good things about the staff they have on duty there. Great place to bring your car

I am so glad I found this place when I first moved to N'Ton about three years ago. These guys are super honest, fast and reasonably priced. They've never bamboozled me into getting more work done like Firestone has and they've definitely saved my butt a bunch of times since I can't seem to avoid the seasonal potholes. I would go to them over a dealership.

The stars here well-deserved, especially compared to Firestone (2.5 stars) down the street. I wish I'd checked these reviews first! I came here for a second opinion after Firestone tried to sell me on their most expensive work. Northampton Tire not only told me that I didn't need to do that expensive work, but they quickly fixed the tire problem I was having, all for $50 in labor only. I suggested I want new tires, but was specifically told that I should wait until my current tires actually wear out before getting better ones. This honesty will keep me coming back.

When I brought my car there they said they would call me to let me know what the problem was and cost/ what not, which they never did. I wasn't happy about that as it was more expensive then I expected. Then when I got the car back it immediately had a new knocking sound coming from the front driver side wheel well. I brought it back and he acted like he didn't know what it was (the couple other mechanics I brought it to knew right away what it was). The way he was acting with me and the inability to look me in the eye seemed very shady. I even called him out on screwing with my car, and said can you look me in the eye and tell me you didn't mess with my car. He just laughed and walked away. I think they're really shady. Will never bring my car there again.
