I have painted several cars over the years. I brought my vehicle here on referral but was very leary of going. To my surprise, Jimmy in the body shop is extremely fair and helpful. He likes to do things the right way!Removal of parts no masking tape. I LOVE THESE GUYS....IM BRINGING THREE MORE CARS AFTER THIS ONE.

Although I didn t get my car back on the original day I was told that it would be done they did a great job. Things come up and schedules can shift and they were very communicative with me about that. I can t thank Mal s and Mal Jr in particular enough, my car was hit while parked and the front door and fender were mangled. They did an excellent job on the repair work and even gave the interior a full detail cleaning.Top notch, thank you Mal s!

Drop my car off on short notice Monday, luckily I had good timing. Needed a bumper, grill, and driver side headlight. They finished before the weekend. Friday evening I got it :)Checked everything, the car was detailed, paint looked great, super happy, but turns out they forgot to replace a cover under the hood. I mentioned it and the took care of me immediately. A couple clips later, on my way..Very kind and mostly friendly my whole experience. I d recommend them to anyone looking for good, quality service.

I had a good experience at Mal's this week. Took my vehicle in for possible brake work. They determined the brake work was not necessary, but, at no additional charge over the rate used to inspect the brakes, they changed the oil and reseated a compartment door that neighborhood kids had vandalized (for $20 in quarters the kids had broken open a $200 part).

Was involved in a minor accident. They took care of everything. Kept me in the loop with the process and completed the work in a very timely matter. Will definitely use them again.

Mal s is INCREDIBLE. My tire sliced beyond repair and I had my car towed to Mal s on a Sunday night. They called me at 9am Monday morning to confirm what I needed and it was ready to pick up by 9:45am. I was completely and pleasantly surprised that they had my tire in stock and were able to do the tire change so quickly and efficiently. I have been to them in the past and they offer fabulous service, competitive and fair pricing. They really take care of their repeat clients. I will continue to go there for all of my car needs.

Went here for an inspection sticker and the guy helping me was very short and would not give me a time estimate on how long I would have to wait. When my car was done the sticker was put on crooked and the old glue was still stuck on below it. The one thing to do was put the sticker on straight but they couldn t even do that. I am not going back to this place.

Top notch service from Junior as always! Did a ton of paint work and installed/paint matched my spoiler. I am super picky about my car and this is my go to shop for all body work. Great communication while my car was at their shop and great quality work.

Mal's Service Center does excellent work with auto body repair.. I have had more than 1car get worked on and the results were excellent. Mal Jr is a truly skilled leader and businessman. I recommend anyone with auto body needs to go to Mal's service center. I also get my tires at Mal's and Richie is a very smart and knowledgeable businessman as well. I highly recommend Mal's for tires too!

It was a terrible experience. They don't deserve not even one star. I went at noon for the car to be inspected , and when I greeted the person behind the counter, explained that I was there for a vehicle inspection, in a very rude tone, almost yelling at me, told me that the person in charge of inspections wasn't there and didn't know when he was coming back, always talking to me very rude and disrespectful. He left to check where the guy was and then came back saying that I had to wait at least an hour, but I didn't see anybody in waiting. I won't recommended this servicenter again. I am not sure about the other services, but this one was an awful experience.Service: Vehicle Inspection

If you have a choice, don't choose Mal's.I needed a new bumper after an accident, and since Mal s repair shop on Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington is on my insurance company s approved list, and is convenient to my home, I took the car in for repair on a Monday, and mentioned that I would be paying by credit card when I picked the car up. It was promised to be ready by the following Thursday at 4PM. Having heard nothing on Thursday, I called and was told it wouldn t be ready until the following day at 4PM. I called at 4PM and was told it wouldn t be ready until 4:45PM. When I arrived at Mal s, I offered my credit card, and was told cash only was the company s policy. They close at 5PM. The amount due was $1100 which I did not have immediate access to in cash, and could not get until the following morning (Saturday). Then I was told that Mal s is not open over the weekend.Had I known that Mal s is a cash-only business, I would have chosen a different approved repair center that was not. Mal s is a major towing and repair company. Refusal to take credit cards from individual customers is a outdated and customer-unfriendly business policy that is difficult for me to understand in this day and age. I presented the cash to Mal s on Monday morning and picked up my car.Our insurance rental was from Enterprise, and apparently when they called Mal s on Thursday to see if the car was ready, they were told by Mal s that our car was no longer there, so Enterprise was prepared to charge us for four days rental, which wouldn t be covered by insurance because of the misinformation provided to them by Mal s. I called my insurance company and explained the situation, and they waived the four day charge.Long story short, choose another repair shop if you have an accident.UPDATE: There is now a rattle in the area of the bumper that was replaced by Mal's. The rattle was not there before Mal's replaced the bumper. Also, I received a letter from Mal Jr. (in response to my Google review) attempting to explain his company's poor performance. I was not impressed. Again, if you have a choice, don't choose Mal's.

Mal's saved me when my oil lines ruptured while I was driving on 95. I had no idea what was wrong with my car but it felt like something really bad when all the check engine lights came on. I was towed there at noon and they were able to quickly diagnose what was wrong with the car, order parts and get it fixed correctly by the close of business that day. I was over an hour from home and considered going to the Toyota dealership because I was in an unknown area but I have a feeling I saved a fortune at Mal's. I would recommend them to anyone.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

This is about the Arlington location. It's also about the repair shop and not the auto body shop. I have encountered rudeness at the auto body shop but not at the auto repair shop. the latter has friendly personalized service with employees that remember who you are and really care about making sure you get sufficient repairs at a reasonable price. When I leave, I feel good about the experience every time. These are great people!

They were convenient and did the work competently. They told me I could pick up the car as late as six pm. They did not warn me that the front shop would be closed and locked up. I stuck my head in the garage door (the one that has a big sign saying "no customers") and couldn't get the attention of an older man, he seemed to be hard of hearing. Outside I found an employee that helped me. After mumbling (between masks and my issues I couldn't make it out) he left for like 5+ minutes. I was stuck in a garage with paint fumes and the old guy. It worked out in the end but was wierd and off putting.

Honest and does great work.. This is a family business that I started going to a few years ago for tires and now I get my repairs and recently body work done. They're prices are fair and you get top quality work done. I think the least tenured mechanic is 5 years with the other's being there for 20 or so....i just recently got my brakes done and sprung for the ceramic pads etc. And I'm glad I did.... I've gotten brakes done in the past and it doesn't take long for the rotors to warp... So far so good... On a side note I would definitely go there for tires... I got the nice set of michelin for a fraction of of what the dealership and other places were charging... I would definitely recommend this place and Mal gives back to the community which I always like to see...

Run for the hills. High fees, hidden fees and inflated prices. They don t accept check or credit card payments. Charged me three days storage fee even though they had it less than 48 hours because I picked the car up after12pm. Then I was planing on having it towed to another garage and they wanted $108 as a yard fee to have another company come on their lot. I drove the car next door and called AAA. I recommend anyone Avoid this establishment.

After my daughter had an accident, her car was towed to Mal's in Lexington. The staff was courteous and very knowledgeable. They helped us through the process when it was totaled by the insurance company and had to be salvaged. Without the guidance from the staff, we would have been at the mercy of the insurance company and would not have known about the options and rights we had. Luckily there were no injuries, just a car that needed to be replaced. Will recommend Mal's to anyone who needs a reliable and trustworthy mechanic.

Worst service I have ever dealt with. Had a flat tire and saw the car sitting on the road at 6am, they call me to say the car is on the lift and it will be $120 to put on a new tire because it can't be patched. Car was never on the lift bye. It was in same spot when I went down Low and behold another place I had it towed to patched it. It had a nail in it. So mechanics at Mals are incompetent. Avoid them at all costs. They're scam artists.

My son's vehicle (VW Jetta) was in a collision and towed to Mal's, which I had never heard of. The car had both mechanical and body damage and I was happy to learn they do both so I didn't need to take it to multiple places. I spoke with my insurance adjuster and Mal Jr. on several occasions and we negotiated a fair price to have the car repaired. The work was completed within the time promised and the quality was excellent. Mal made a point to say they would stand behind it "forever" if anything came up and I have no reason to doubt that. He also made a downward adjustment to the bill for work they did not need to do and even did a few items items above and beyond, including an interior cleaning. I highly recommend this company based on my one experience.

Do yourself a favor and never go here. The staff was rude to me and told me I had a problem with my tire. When I took it to another mechanic I trust, they told me there was no problem.I then called Mal's to make it right and they refused to rectify the situation and then hung up on me.To summarize, these folks are incompetent, rude and treat customers like garbage. If you value your car don't ever go to Mal's (mal is Spanish for bad, which is a perfect name for these incompetent jokers)

I have had several of my own vehicles repaired at Mal's the past few years. I work in the automotive industry and know exactly what to look for and these guys are awesome! Their work is incredible I have never had a complaint. Family owned and operated! Call and ask for Mal Junior.

DANGEROUS, FRIGHTENING AND FRUSTRATING. I picked up my car after Mal's had it for more than eight weeks, despite being told it would be ready soon on multiple occasions. Less than 25 miles later the rear tire came off my car. They never tightened the lug nuts. As I brought the car under control the tire went across the road and hit a van coming the other way. Fortunately, I was not on Rt 128 where I had been earlier, where the incident could have been tragic. Mal's repaired the damage quickly this time. When I asked about any compensation, Mal's response was "No. Nobody was hurt, we paid for the repair and we can't afford anything more." So much for good will.Do not go to Mal's and if your car is ever towed there, have another body shop pick it up.

The only person more incompetent than the mechanics at Mal s is I: I decided to take my 2008 Prius there even after reading all the horrendous reviews. But it was only to switch the snow tires back to the regular ones. What could go wrong?Let me tell you. First of all, when the car came back, not only did they switch the tires, but performed an oil change, which I hadn t asked for, and tried to charge me for it. To their credit, they agreed to take it off the bill. That was the only good thing that happened at Mal s.Over the next few days, I detected a faint oil smell every time I started the engine. Then I noticed oil spots under the car. I took it in to the Toyota dealers just to have a look at it. They said the entire engine was splattered with oil. The Mal mechanic had neglected to put the oil cap back on! They tried to clean it, but the engine was a mess. Then they said that the nuts they put on to secure the wheel were the wrong kind, and did not fit securely on the hubcap. They fixed it at Toyota, and advised me to return to Mal s and explain that surely they would refund my money.Hah! They denied everything, and said I should have brought it back to them to fix. Right! I am going to bring it back to someone who doesn t even know how to change the oil?So please, don t be stupid. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO MAL S, FOR ANYTHING!

I have had multiple cars repaired at the body shop. Each time the repairs were done right and completed on time. The paint finish was as good as the factory finish. (I'm picky and notice if there's orange peal) The price has always been very reasonable and lower than local hack shops. Will continue to work with Mal's. Thanks Junior.

Mal's towing was called after I slid into a snow bank, car was still operational and I was fine. They pulled me out after being called by whoever, not me, I had AAA. They did not accept AAA and the driver held my car hostage for $140, no car until paid. I'm sure there would have been storage fees as well. Driver was rude, miserable, and angry. Never call them, ever. I would have shoveled the car out if I had known, again I NEVER called them. Can you rate ZERO STARS?

Inefficient, uncommunicative, and apparently no communication between employees either, or they don't know enough about their own policies to tell the rest of us what we have to do when we call in to make arrangements. The people at Mal's expect us to figure it out for ourselves and at our expense.Car towed into Mal's Thursday night after an accident. Tried to make an appointment to get it out on Saturday morning but was informed no one would be there on Saturday (website says open to 3 pm Saturday). Called Monday, and was told yard is actually open 10 to 12 on Saturday. Got there at 4 Tuesday after work and was told yard closes at 4 (website says open to 5). In the course of negotiating with them, we must have called them six times over the week, were given a very specific sum of charges at time of removal, etc, and only after our own AAA guy finally got in to extract the car on Thursday did they tell us there was another $108 to enter the yard.Any of these contingencies (charges, hours of operation, etc) would be perfectly reasonable if they were to tell us clearly in the first phone call.
