I always refer friends and loved ones to George at Brighton Motor Service! He is extremely reliable, trustworthy and thorough. Prices are very reasonable as well. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a new mechanic.

I went to Brighton Motor Service for the first time this week to have my exhaust leak fixed in my 2007 Tacoma. They were fast, friendly, communicative at every step, and the price was excellent. My truck sounds great now and the fix they performed looks great too. I felt very comfortable with them as well. I wish I had found them earlier, and I will definitely be coming back to them next time.Service: Exhaust

Unfortunately, relevant context here is that I m a younger, small, woman. I had a tire slowly leaking but it was not clear where. I first called AAA and the service provider laughed at me, kicked my tire and asked why I called because it wasn t flat.I went to Brighton Motor Service and they were efficient, they were friendly, took me seriously and searched pretty hard for a sneaky leak that they were able to repair for a fair price.I was very nervous about finding help after my first experience and general fear of being taken advantage of in auto shop environments, but I highly recommend Brighton Motor Service for women with similar concerns!

A mechanic must have a really dark heart to damage people's cars on purpose. Leave people's EGR systems untouched, especially if they trust their vehicles to you for something unrelated. Scaring customers by telling them that you are not even sure how they made it all the way to your shop is evil and wrong! May you go broke because of this GEORGE.

I have been going to Brighton Motor Service for years now and this review is long over due. I cant even count the number of times this place has come through for me. Excellent prices, amazing customer service and the owner of the shop is a great guy. I hope people see this because this place deserves it.

I had such a good experience here! I called on a weekend morning with a flat tire, hoping they would be able to help. They had me come right in and were so friendly and welcoming. They fixed my tire and showed me my brakes that needed to be replaced. They gave me such a great price as well! Freddie helped me out and was so nice, I will definitely be returning in the future!Services: Tires, Brakes

Always a great experience with Brighton Motor Service! I ve come here many times over the years. I have always received great service and been treated very well. George and Freddy and the rest of the crew are the best! They re friendly, trustworthy and go above and beyond to do solid work. I ve got an older vehicle and since I ve worked on it myself and had it repaired many many times, I know that when BMS quotes me for a job or diagnoses a problem, the work I will be having done with them is not only completely necessary but also very fairly priced. And they re quick too, which is great because my vehicle is never tied up for very long! A lot of shops in the area play games, especially with women. But not these guys. They re straightforward and always give me a good idea of how to prioritize my repairs as well as making sure they are done as cost effectively as possible. If I could give this shop 6 stars, I would. Our neighborhood has changed so much over the years, and I m happy that a dependable place like this is still around, because when my car breaks down, if I ve got to spend on repairs, this is exactly the type of local business I m happy to support! This is the first time I've been to an auto shop and didn't feel taken advantage of for being a young female clueless about cars. I've only been there twice, but each time George has given me his honest opinion on what he thought I needed fixing without making me feel pressured. They were very quick and veryyy reasonably priced. Hopefully I won't have any car troubles for awhile, but if I do I definitely know where I'll be going. Thank you everyone at Brighton Motor Service!!

My go to mechanic! In and out in less than one hour. Been here twice to have brakes done and tires plugged both times in and out and very affordable. wouldn t go anywhere else.

My car randomly start vibrating one day as I was driving on the highway so I called this place after seeing all the reviews. Freddy ended up helping me out. He took a my car for a test drive to see if the same thing occurred (it didn't) but he offered to take a through look underneath the hood to make sure that it was safe for me to drive before leaving the shop - which I really appreciated. Once he lifted the car, he noticed my brake pads were worn out and strongly suggested to change them because they were dangerously thin. He showed me my old, worn out ones and the new ones (with the rotor) that he installed. My car drives so much smoother now. Freddy is friendly and honest with everything. I felt it was a pretty good deal for what I had done. Thank you for the great service!Update: I went back for my tire change a few weeks later and George helped me out (I also saw Freddy again). Very quick service, ~2 hours for the entire process, and they also had very reasonable rates. Everyone is very friendly here. Thanks again!Service: Brakes

I have gone to this auto shop twice now - once to replace my front brakes and rotors and the second time for the rear brakes and rotors. The owner of the shop George is so kind, it is clear he is running an honest and fair business. He explains everything and he is always right on estimating how much time it will take to complete the service. The prices are incredibly fair and competitive and I really appreciate how this shop keeps the prices stable amidst rising costs of prices everywhere. The quotes they have given me have ranged from $200-$500 less than other auto shops or the dealership in the area and the quality of service is stellar. Overall, I received excellent service can t recommend this place enough!! The shop has earned me as a repeat customer for any future servicing needs! Thank you to all the wonderful mechanics working here, the Brighton community is lucky to have you!!

We had a second amazing experience with George at Brighton Motors that left me in awe.My son's been in school in Boston, and was about to move to LA. A few weeks before his departure the engine in his 2008 Subaru failed from an oil problem.George saved the day. He found and tested a replacement engine, changed the timing belt, and fixed every other issue with the car--all in just a few days and at a price that was more than fair.I've dealt with a lot of mechanics over the years, and George is the best by a mile.

I changed my engine oil yesterday. They were really friendly and quick with working. I dropped by car in the early morning and they changed the oil in like 15 minutes. Freddie was really nice and gave me addition tips to look out for, instead of trying to sell me unnecessary sales. The oil change price was very reasonable and I think I will be coming to this shop only as far as I stay in this region.Service: Oil change

This place was recommended to me when I went for my inspection sticker and my muffler needed repair. Freddy was friendly and they took care of repairing the problem quickly. It's difficult to find honest mechanics. I would highly recommend.

A mechanic you can trust is worth his weight in gold. I brought my car in after it broke down with no idea what was going on. It was probably pretty obvious I don't know much about cars, and I'm always wary of mechanics trying to take advantage of that (especially since I'm a young woman). George was absolutely fantastic. He talked to me honestly about what he found that needed fixing, what it would cost to fix it, and why (parts vs labor). He made sure I knew what was going on and what I was agreeing to without being patronizing, and didn't try to upsell me or add on a bunch of services. (He was happy to check the oil and rotate my tires - but only after I asked him to!) It's been over a week and the car is still driving perfectly. I'll definitely be bringing my car in for as long as I'm in the area.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I recently went in with a flat tire. I thought getting it fixed was going to consume my day but they were able to plug it in just a few minutes and the cost was very reasonable. I was able to get to work and continue my day as planned and my tire has been great ever since.

My partner and I have used George as our primary mechanic for over three years now, and I want people know how special this family business is. Brighton Motor Service is one of the last of a dying breed of small auto shop, where they really, truly care about their customers in the community. I'm not talking about slick "customer service" that you see often, where they smile as they add up your huge bill. George is an honest and genuine hardworking person: if you treat him with respect, he'll always go the extra mile for you. He has saved us money with smart fixes or passed up opportunities to make a quick buck from us more times than I can count. Owning our first car in the city on a tight budget was really intimidating at first, but George made it feel a lot easier.My favorite George stories:-We got a second car, an ancient van for infrequent heavy loads. Because of my schedule, I took it to a shop down where I work in Norwood, for the convenience. Big mistake. That shop incorrectly diagnosed a strange sound as the car needing a new set of rear wheel bearings, which was an expensive job. After the fix, the sound was still happening, so I took the car to George. He looks at it outside for 30 seconds (without even putting it up on the lift!), and says it needs a new set of rear tires, the tread wear pattern is severely bad on the inside (not visible from the outside). Much cheaper fix, and the sound went away completely!- Our first car hit an obstacle in the road, which wasn't visible because someone else had previously run over the road sign marking it, and the sign was never replaced. The stump of the old sign impaled our car and punctured the oil pan, an expensive accident. It wasn't clear if insurance was going to reimburse us at all, since we hit the obstacle on our own. George knew the insurance inspector, who had previously screwed over another one of his clients on a different job, and was able to convince him to fully cover us! George would have been paid either way, so this was really above and beyond.Some tips:-The biggest thing I've learned is that if he says you need to fix or replace something, then you definitely will. Every time I've been uncertain or hesitant about a repair, I always end up wishing I'd followed his advice sooner. Similarly, if he says you don't need it, you don't need it, period.-George is old school, there's no formal scheduling system. Unless it's an emergency, always call ahead before heading over, to find out how his workload is for the day and whether he can fit you in. If he's really busy and it can wait, then just try again the next day. Being a customer at Brighton Motor Service is more than just a standard transactional relationship: If you're considerate, it will pay off down the road. I will say, I am moving to Chicago and one of the places I will miss most is having a reliable and friendly mechanic in my area. I have been going to this location for years now and they have never let me down. It is a full service gas station, with some of the best pricing in the area.The people who work and run this location are the nicest and some of the most well informed mechanics I have had work on my car. Because I have religiously come here they recognize me from when I drive up or even when I just drive by. I always can expect a wave, and if I ever need an emergency service of my vehicle they without question get me in usually day of.Please come and support this local business! They will treat you better and price you very fairly for their work. I will miss these guys!Services: Auto brake repair, Oil change
