Muffler Mart is easily accessible in the middle of JP and a short walk from the orange line which is great if you need to leave your car there and head home via train. I was having a serious issue with my car & Justin helped me out tremendously, was very patient, and communicative. The place is busy and they do seem to get people in and out rather quickly. Definitely suggest for a good mechanic in the city!

I've been to a number of car service centers over the years including several Toyota dealers and other small shops. Justin and his team at Muffler Mart are the best. They tell you exactly what needs fixing and don't find problems that aren't there. Far more reasonable cost than a dealer and with way more personal service. Business here has declined. I can't even give it a star. I recently had my car towed in on a Wednesday night. I had a no start no crank issue. I was informed that on the passenger side door sill had ants. So I say ok. I'll come down with my portable power washer and power wash them all off. So after a few hours. I get a call saying the ants are inside the car. So I say. I'll put a ant defogger inside this evening. Two days of my time wasted and the car never got looked at. I had to have it towed to another place. I would advised anyone thinking of coming here. Go some place else.

Just disappointing... Dishonest, shady work. I went to Justin for a simple install for an aftermarket catback. But to my surprise, after I left the shop I found damage on my car hidden and covered up with white tape... My paint was stripped down to the core, exposing bare metal/plastic.Muffler Mart carelessly swung out their 2-post lift arm without checking for ground clearance first (my car sits low) and banged my rocker panel. I get that mistakes happen, but if you cover it up and deceive a customer then that s an entirely different story.I politely gave Justin a chance to own up to his mistake as they re a small and local business, but he wasn t willing to hear me out and immediately REFUSED to show me their security footage and denied any damage done. Constantly saying he ll call me back and never following up. He then proceeded to dodge my calls and delay a response to my request for security footage. I even took the time to come in-person and Justin acted like he didn t know anything. Using tape to cover accidental damage and deceive a customer is extremely shady and cancels out any argument he has. Please avoid this shop. Do better, Muffler Mart.

I got a UHaul here and everything went just as planned. Staff were very nice and helpful, and it made moving less stressful.

I rented a Uhaul from here and had a great experience. T was super helpful with finding the reservation and went above and beyond to help out when I was running late with the return. Overall great customer service and I would definitely rent from them again!

I m so so disappointed and surprised. I brought my car to Muffler Mart last Friday to get a diagnostic and oil change. When I picked up my car a few hours later that day, I asked was there anything else possibly wrong with the car, and I was assured that my car was in top condition. I drove my car to Worcester Mass a few hours later, and while driving home my car stopped on the fast lane on the highway. I had to get my car towed back to Worcester at 11 PM, and I contacted Muffler Mart the next day to try to figure things out. I was told that this was a tricky situation , and there was nothing they can do about it . We even had two other mechanics consult us about the car, and MM wanted to hear none of it. My mom and I have been coming here for YEARS, recommending their services to our family and friends, literally faithful customers. I don t appreciate this treatment at all, and we are planing on taking taking legal actions.

Justin was so professional on the phone when i spoke to him.He urged me to come in to diagnose my car.He worked on my car and was humble and had a good sense of humour.They have multiple bays that work on several cars so try them you wont be disappointed.They also have a nice space with bathrooms for you to sit and grab a drink.

I've been going to this mechanic for over 2 years now and the service has been good. It's 1st come 1st served and based on part availability. They've kept both of my cars in good working order to the point I only need to see them maybe once a year for a car repair (which is good considering I'm driving a car older than 2007 in 2022) and my yearly inspection. My 1 wish is that these guys were open on weekends as getting out of work early enough to get there before they close at 4 p.m. can be a challenge sometimes.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Oil change

Justin has completed a state inspection, a total replacement of my brakes, and a oil change/filter replacement. In all cases, he prices fairly, gets the job done quick, and is real nice to work with. I ll be back for sure.

Fast and excellent service. I got right axle and wheel bearing change from Justin. Car parts costs are little bit high when you compare to online stores, except that five star service.

Wonderful JP mechanic shop - locally owned, hard-working and skilled team. The first time my fiance and I took my new (used) car in, we asked for a tune-up and after looking at my car they said honestly it doesn't need it -it's in great shape. They could have taken our money and we wouldn't have been the wiser, but they were honest and earned our trust. We've used them exclusively since then and always have a good experience. I have rented uhauls here several times and their customer service and convenience is amazing. The most recent time I left my house keys in the truck and before I even though to call, Justin called me saying he had found them. Great business with great people!

Justin and the guys at Muffler Mart are awesome. You can trust him for an accurate assessment and honest estimate. This most recent time I went in mysterious rattle that turned out to be a wonky heat shield. Justin didn't charge me a thing, even though I couldn't pick up my car until the next day. Nice guys in the auto repair industry are a tough thing to find!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Bad experience not even using the service, just reporting what happened. Found a local shop that does inspection, checked google, says it opens at 7AM on Saturdays, so OK, woke up early, got there at 7:35AM figured I would be able to get my inspection done. Sign outside says opens at 8AM Saturdays, fine, I'll just wait. Come 8AM, door still locked. At 8:03AM a guy in an SUV parked in front of the bay door and saw me(I was sitting in the car) but walked across the street to the barber shop. He probably doesn't even work there. Told myself, 10 more minutes since I've waited this long, a mistake, shouldn't have waited because at the time I left at 8:13 still nothing. I did call at around 8:08AM and I could hear the phone ring inside but of course it just kept ringing. Lesson learned here, 1: never trust google blindly and 2: Muffler Mart of Boston will not get my business.

If zero was a option I give it. They are con artists I had to get a dual exhaust for my car. I had previously other services for other vehicle 2 weeks later my dual exhaust part fell off he gave me a hard time and said if I couldn't bring in documents he wouldn't fix it. I refer the car repair place across from Walgreens toward Egleston station before these con artist. I wouldn't bother to pay to put air in bike tire, I choose to walk additional 15 minutes to mobil gas station to put air in my bike tires. I called to get a uhaul immediately for my mom that needed a truck his attitude call 800 uhaul immediately hung up regardless how I felt I would have gladly got the same pick up truck that sat in the same place for 2 days. Don't go get your Uhaul on Warren Street or on Massachusetts Avenue. Take your car to be service elsewhere never here.

Sense moving to Boston Justin and the other guys at muffler mart are the only people I trust with my car. They are always honest, polite and personable. I came here for state inspection, their employee misplaced my remote key during the inspection, they left the key to another similar car, that means they lost my key. They will not admit their mistake, they used my spare key left in the coffee cup holder to finish the inspection, they will not admit that they took my first key, will not take responsibility for compensating the lost of my key. This is very bad business practice, it s not my fault that they lost my key, now that I have to pay $120 to get a cheap OEM key. Now what? This is a bad business, I just want to warning you guys be aware to deal this shop with other repair, you will get ripped off by their business nature.

I've brought my car here for everything - brake pads, oil change, inspection sticker, tire pressure check, the infamous "my car is making a weird noise but I don't know what is wrong with it"...you name it. The prices are fair, they don't try to BS you, the customer service is great, and there's quick turnaround. I was traveling to Boston from NY to view colleges with my son. My alternator failed in front of North Eastern University. I managed to make it to muffler mart by chanceI walked in and spoke to Justin the owner ... explaining I was in a bind as we needed to drive back to NY and needed an alternator .It was a 95 degree day in July and 1 in the afternoon , he closes at 4:30.He said I will do my best but I can t guarantee it .He got the part and put 2 men on it. We were on our way by 4:25.Never ever have I seen that level of service for someone you likely will not see as a repeat customer.A True professional and a genuinely good personThanks Justin

I wouldn't believe the bad reviews on this place. I've been here for both Uhaul and car repair and have had nothing but good experience. The Uhaul rental I did last minute because my dad's car died and couldn't help me move. I rented the car for a day and a half and price came to exactly what it was. I even dropped the car off after hours without any issue. This was in August of 2018. Recently my car stopped starting and stalling out. Went to this place and he did a free diagnostic when my dad said it was a starter he wanted replaced. The owner said the starter was not the problem and he didn't want to replace it if it wasn't the issue. He was also honest about not knowing entirely what the problem was and not wanting to replace parts without being certain the issue just yet (our car is old and very tempermental). He said to call next time it happened and he'd give it another look. Happened again this time ended up being the alternator which he fixed with no problem. We quoted everything before doing what he did. He even called promptly after the car being dropped off what he was doing and the exact price. The owner was extremely patient with a very frustrated and stressed father of mine. He made the whole ordeal better and I would go again to this place. The staff is sweet and polite even when we can by when it just closed.

Justin s work ethic shines on from his dad Seth. Extremely helpful to all who enter the shop. From inspection stickers to oil changes to major repairs ..this is the best spot to utilize! Skip the Auto Mile dealers, they can t hold a candle to Muffler Mart!!!
