This family owned business treats you just like family! Will always recommend anyone I know who owns a Mercedes or BMW to take their vehicle to this shop. Hands down the best experience I have had with a car shop.

Highly recommend. I brought my Mercedes to Family Auto Care and they were friendlier than the dealer, more affordable than the dealer, and faster than the dealer. I'm never going back to the dealer.

I had front suspension work done alone with a coolant leak. They were recommended to me because of their expertise in Mercedes Benz. They were awesome!! I dropped my car off Sunday night and it was ready by Wednesday. That s excellent service if you ask me. We took a trip to NC and it rode like a dream. This place is a rip off. I took my BMW X5 M to them after having it diagnosed. I said that the check engine light is on and I had it diagnosed and the diagnosis was high pressure fuel pump. They said ok we will diagnose again and call me with repair cost estimate. They texted me soon as I left saying check some box and answer some questions so they can start the process. I did and 20 minutes later they called and said i owe them $169 for diagnosis but take to dealer to have repaired. I asked them why they couldn t fix it and they said they only do brakes and suspension issues on bmw. I said why didn t you tell me from beginning he said we do some bmw models fuel pump but not mine. But they knew the model and the issue from the beginning. I have used Family Auto for many years and on many different vehicles, especially all Mercedes models. Dwight's and Erin have always taken care of our needs extremely well. I prefer his expert opinion and repairs well over the Mercedes garages in DC and especially Annapolis. They are accommodating on scheduling and getting the car in and out at a fair price. This is a "one and done" service center. They explain the services and costs thoroughly. I have never been surprised or unhappy with the work performed. I would highly recommend for all Mercedes and foreign car service and repairs.Service: A/C installation & repair

This place is even amazing when they are closed, skip the expensive BMW, Mercedes and Audi dealers when you need work done and GO HERE!!!! Here's a quick story of WHY you should go here for all of your automotive needs. We were in St Mary's for the Christmas Holiday, driving back to Maine, and receive a call from my son (drives a 2011 BMW 328X Drive) with the Service Engine Soon light just came on, after following all the prompts to reset maintenance settings, the light remained on. Called Family Auto Care and explained the situation to Dwayne, and he stated even though they were closed, to have my son stop by for a Scan and quick overview. The Scan turned out to be a Evap Leak. no issues and my son was very confident to complete his drive to Maine. Dwayne was very thorough with my son and his findings, as they always are with my vehicles when they were serviced and repaired at Family Auto Care. I highly recommend this business, kind, caring and understanding. My wife even said when I was on the phone with Dwayne that was one of the nicest and kindest conversations ever with a business. I don't do a lot of posts but......I have used Family Auto since moving into the area years ago and I love these guys (and girls)!!!! If you are looking for an honest shop that does great work with knowledgable mechanics this is it! Efficient timely repairs from Family Auto. Moreover, they were instrumental in getting a tow when my starter motor failed. Family Auto is fantastic! I recently purchased a 2013 Audi q5 from my parents and I started to get this notchy steering feeling while I was at school where it basically felt like the power steering was going in and out as I turned the steering wheel so I did some research for places that specialize on foreign cars and came across Family Auto. I drove up from school, about 50 miles with the notchy steering, to Family Auto and I was NOT disappointed. I was a first time customer and the level of professionalism and honesty I was treated with was unbelievable. Admittedly I was very worried it would cost me thousands of dollars to fix the problem in the steering system so I did ask for a rough estimate before I officially left the car, which I hate doing since there's no way of officially knowing what's wrong/the cost until it is looked at. However, they met me with honesty saying it was likely either the intermediate steering shaft (Relatively minor in comparison) or the steering rack/gear which would have cost me around $4,000. It would have been so easy to just tell me it was the steering rack/gear and collect the $4,000, which as a college student is money I simply do not have. But nope! I heard back later that day and was told it was just the intermediate shaft and that they had one ordered in. I was so relieved and it was installed very quickly. I picked up the car as soon as I could and that steering felt brand new. I also had my parents drive the car and they said it felt as smooth, if not smoother, than it did when they bought the car back in 2013. Excellent local service and attention to detail when working on my VW. On time, price as quoted, and it was obvious the car was taken care of by a professional and treated like it was a high end luxry car while in their care. They even took the time to point out a few other things they noticed that may need attention soon (but NOT at all in a high pressure way) just so that I was aware. Family Auto has been taking care of my Audi A4 for almost 10 years. They are now taking care of our 2nd car, a Lexus LS 460. Great certified mechanics you can trust to do the right thing. Exceptional work for a fair price. The place to go for great service for your Mercedes, BMW, Audi, or Lexus. My sons 2010 135i convertible had multiple dashboard icons indicating trouble with DSC, ABS, TCS, SRS, both speedo and fuel gauges both not working. Windows that are supposed to drop 1/4 inch when you lift the handle refused to do so. Family Auto care took the time to perform the proper diagnostics instead of the standard "lets just start swapping every computer the system says is bad". They correctly diagnosed that the footwell module, through which almost all of the CANBUS network signals for the cars many systems travel, was bad. They informed us of this and cautioned us that a straight replacement did have a chance of failure.The technicians notes were delivered through an online portal that made easy review a snap, along a button to signal our approval for performing the repair. After that, they performed more diagnostics to nail down the issue of all four wheel sensors reporting bad and again, nailed it correctly without just randomly throwing parts at it.They have our great thanks for the work they did, they earned every penny. They were not inexpensive, but diagnostics of this quality along with great communications are worth it. Great value is not always in the lowest price, its in getting the best work for a good price. We took our BMW X5 to Family Auto for a coolant leak and they diagnosed the problem and repaired our vehicle in the same day! Erin met us at the front office and was very polite, caring and professional. She answered all of our questions and kept us posted on the progress of our repair. This was our second visit to Family Auto and we have been extremely impressed with the outstanding customer service, fast, expert repairs and good value. I would rate the service here better than the service we received from BMW when our vehicle was under warranty!

I only found out about Family Auto Care when I was 7 miles over my covered care for my BMW and the BMW dealer told me the scheduled maintenance wouldn't be covered. I went up to their waiting area fuming and looked for anyone in my area that did it. Thank God I did. Found out that 2 miles away from me was a small business that ran its company the way I run mine. Couldn't be happier taking my BMW to these people. The biggest thing is trust. When they tell me I have a problem, I don't worry that I need more opinions b.c. they are just trying to make a profit. That really is the best thing about them. They understand that by not doing that, they make customers for life which is way more profitable.

I see that they have a number of good and bad reviews. I chose to delete my previous review and take a higher road. I appreciate the good and the bad in my experience withDewayne and his staff. I received quality work and some respectful professionalism. I was also met with some rudeness and miscommunications. On a long road trip in my 150k 2003 BMW 325i, I happened to have a mystery overheating issue! Over 1500 miles from home and somewhat knowing about cars myself, I wanted to protect my pride and joy ride. I googled shops capable of working on my BMW in the town I was in. Not only did they see me right away (knowing was traveling) but came to a very quick conclusion and repair advice. I admire their honesty and fair pricing to keep me traveling. Thanks you guys!
