Brought in my MR2 Spyder for custom exhaust to be installed. I was asking for something VERY custom actually. I bought a rear diffuser from an F80 BMW M3, and wanted an exhaust fabricated to have the quad/dual center exhaust tips. Keep in mind the MR2 Spyder has a mid engine, leaving room for a small exhaust and very little piping. So this was a big ask. Rich spent time coming up with ideas to make it all work, and kept updating me with text messages and pics on his progress. End product was perfect! Could not be happier with the looks and sound. This does not sound or look like something that should be on such a small car. I told him it sounded like he snuck in a few extra cylinders for me, in reality probably a few horsepower to say the least. Got to see all kinds of cool cars and projects in the shop, so their clients range from JDM guys like me, to muscle cars, and everyday cars that just need maintenance/repair. If you're into cars and mods, he'll be happy to show you around the shop. Friendliest bunch of guys. The only downside...Rich is a perfectionist. This is not an exaggeration, he worked on my car like it was his own. He didn't give it back until he was happy with everything. And truth be told, he probably would have kept it another week or two if he could just to keep tinkering with the absolute perfect setup.Service: Auto exhaust system replacement

The guys over at C&R are top notch! I needed a custom exhaust setup for my k swap civic. Cliff was very communicative throughout the entire process; calling with updates and asking clarifying questions, even cracking a few jokes a long the way. No complaints here - Rich did a bang up job with my exhaust setup. He even went out of his way to assist me when my car wouldn t fire up, and I got stuck down the road from the shop (bad fuel pump; nothing that C&R did). I am very pleased with the work and how the car sounds! A1 shop in my book. I will definitely used them in the future.-BrianService: Exhaust

I have used this business multiple times, with my personal vehicles, small repairs, and my custom muscle car. The guys are very professional and provide great work, and FAST! I love this shop, and Rich and Clif! They do excellent work; they have the car ready when they say they will; prices have been very reasonable; and they don't add to problems as the dealer does. As an added bonus, the front desk guy Clif is also knowledgeable; will search for appropriate parts and advise on what to do. As a bonus he is very personable; good natured and very funny. It just adds to the overall experience. Definitely try them out!

Great service. They are very friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I had my car brought in for general maintenance and had my rear tire repaired. I used to go to my Toyota dealer and Jiffy Lube, but the prices were unresonable. I ll come here from now on.

Great customer service. I needed brake work done and the last place I went demanded I replace both rear calipers, pads/shoes as well as the rotor's, quoted over $1,350.00.C&R Auto Repair and Exhaust to the rescue. It turned out only one side needed to be replaced and at at 1/3rd the cost. They are friendly, honest and good at what they do with your car. I have had other work done here years ago and was very happy with that work as well. I will continue to come back as needed.Services: Auto brake repair, Auto maintenance

The best place to go for any kind of car repairs, maintenance, upgrades. Cliff and Rich are super friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Great prices. Five stars for Cliff and Rich! These guys are very informative from start to finish of the job and go above and beyond for customer satisfaction. I dropped my 2002 Ford Lightning off to these guys for them to build me a custom cat-back exhaust. What I wanted was very specific, and right away Rich start plotting away how to get the job done as he understood very clearly what I had in mind. The day I brought my truck to his shop he brought out a few different sized exhaust tips and positioned them to make sure I would like what I had envisioned and we spent a good 30 minutes doing this as well as many other similar scenarios to this, thats customer satisfaction! Another great part of my experience with this shop is that I felt very safe with having my hot rod that was also my first truck in this shop, as I do not trust many shops with this truck. After all said and done the project turned out better then I had envisioned with very high attention to detail and I couldn t have been any happier with the outcome. I ve only been here a few times with both of my cars but each time was pretty good! I was greeted with a smile and even got to meet the huge German Shepherd at the shop! They took the time to explain things to me and answer all my questions!

Mann!! What real good guys and knowledgeable, with quality work. The owner was awesome, I was coming in to get a free estimate on my exhaust, he immediately brought me in and treated me like family. He does the work in reasonable time frame, and takes care of your vehicle. I will be returning here anytime I need major work done. A guy had stumbled in while I was there,needed the inlet to his inter cooler rounded, the owner took a look, and fixed it for him on the spot, for free at that! I didn't know where my brake noise was coming from my truck . I guessed it was the front end . They replaced everything brake system on mY front end . It was the rear brakes that was the problem . Instead of being true full with me about the problem . They told me I had a problem with the rear brakes . I figured that was the problem after I left the place . 1,112.00 later and they never looked into the real problem . I would never recommend this business to anyone .

The staff was helpful. The technician and the owner provided insightful information on my exhaust system and how to properly configure it. They repositioned and centered my exhaust perfectly...something I failed to execute. Im definitely coming back when I upgrade

A great crew of professional, and very knowledgeable people in their craft. I brought my truck in for a new muffler because the old one was starting to rust out, and the dealer wanted a grand to replace it with a factory muffler!!! (insanity). Rich was very helpful and recommended a Performance Muffler (YEAH!) that would go best with my truck engine (and he was right on the mark). I appreciated his honest assessment on what I really needed (a muffler, but not new pipes), and he did not try to sell me on what I did not need, which I thought was awesome. When I received the truck back the exhaust sounded awesome- not to loud and yet lets you know who is driving you around town.Also, for about a year, the dealer had told me that one of my tire pressure sensors was bad and needed to be replaced at a god awful price, so I learned to live with the dashboard light and check air pressure routinely like the good ol' days. Rick checked it out and said that the sensors were all fine and he performed an extensive reset (not what is described in the owners manual because I tried that a dozen times!), and the light went out and everything works great again.Dealer- 0C&R- 2Whenever possible, I plan to bring my vehicles back to Rick. A great, honest, professional and talented set of folks there and you cannot go wrong with having them work on all our automotive needs. Good mechanics and technicians are hard to find and this is the place to come.Services: Exhaust, Electrical

These guys were courteous and professional. I took my wheelchair van there because the exhaust was damaged. They did an oil change, a complete inspection and did the custom exhaust repair all in the same day i brought it in. I got out for a great price too. This is the last great old school garage. Somehow got a screw in my right rear tire. Traveling from Germantown Md to Springfield Va on a regular basis. Tire was leaking air fast, would have plugged it myself if it was a front tire, but didn't have a lot of time to deal with it. Called the shop without an appointment and Rich said bring it in and we will take care of it right away. They did just that, and did a great job. They didn't just pop the tire off, they put it up on the rack, which is the proper and best way to do the repair. Price for the work was very reasonable. Fantastic Customer service. Thanks again Rich, and I will be recommending this auto shop to all.

Great service, great diagnostics, and had gave me good advice about saving some money trying to get an older car to pass emissions to put back on the road for another year without having to replace the whole exhaust. Very satisfied with the results.

Spot on service! Certified and very experienced.This shop s charges are in line with online estimates available to anyone. Less than dealer costs. More than back yard mechanics. You don t really want to go with super low pricing unless the job is so easy that you could do it yourself and know how to buy and inspect parts.Regarding the guy with the oxygen sensors. $1,200 looked to be in line with online estimates for a 2015 Toyota Sienna. In Maryland, if you are worried about getting ripped off, pay the $75 bucks for the diagnosis and take the car to a different shop for a second opinion. I do it all the time. It s a shame to give this place one star when a little bit of research pays off in terms of peace of mind.I ve recommended this shop to friends and family who live here in Germantown and will continue to do so.

I have taken my vehicle here on 4 occasions and have had an A+ experience with Rich (and Cliff) each time. They've always been great at giving me a complete rundown of the repairs I need and can explain things in terms anyone can understand. I have never felt that they're trying to sell me services/parts I don't need or overcharging me for the work they do. I will continue to have any car I drive serviced there.

I had Rich install an aftermarket exhaust on my new Ram. After two weeks, I decided to go back to my factory exhaust. They still had my original in their shop and that saved me several hundred $s. This place is the most unprofessional rip off I have ever been to, on 5/28/2020 my engine light was on so I went there and was told both catalytic converters were bad and needed to be changed I paid almost 1,700 dollars for the repair. Weeks later engine light came back on. On 2/24/2021. I went to Exxon to have my car looked at, they stated to me that the catalytic converters were bad. I told them I just got them changed last May by C & R auto. I was told to go back to them because the converters should still be under warranty. I went back there told them catalytic converters where bad, they said the converters where free but I had to pay for labor. I paid almost $800.00 for labor the next day check engine light came back on. I went back to Exxon to see what was wrong with the car because at this point I do not trust C&R. I was told by a certified mechanic that the catalytic converters do not look like they where changed. So I just paid almost 2,500 for nothing. When we confronted C& R auto Richard was yelling and screaming like an immature child. Telling me I was not getting my money back. I asked him to prove to me that the catalytic converters where new he refused called the police and had us charged for trespassing. I am going to court to sue them to get my money. All I want as a consumer is to get what I paid for, money does not grow on trees. Do me a huge favor and never do business with these people. They are a scam!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Richard has been my mechanic for over 15 years and has serviced ALL of my cars. He is very professional, his prices are very reasonable and his work is impeccable! I was called about 9 AM the next morning with a finished diagnostic, clear explanation of what need to be fixed, cost etc. I will definitely take my other vehicles there for any auto/exhaust work. I had this shop replace 4 oxygen sensors with my Toyota sienna, they charged me $737 with 4 sensors alone, not including labor. Later on I found out the same parts at advanced auto parts store sell $63.99 each, a total $255.96 for 4 sensors. I went back to the shop and asked them why the prices were so high, and they just told me the parts that they have are from a better brand. I don't think different brand sensors would cost me almost 3 times more than in advanced auto parts store. So I think they overcharged me way too much on the parts. I don't recommend you go to this shop.
