We got our inspection done here, it was so easy to make an appointment, they were done in less than an hour, very good at communicating and prompt. The waiting area was pretty small and right next to the bathrooms so it didn't have the best aroma, but there's a McDonald's across the street that you can wait at as well.

Never go to this inspection place, doesn't have a qualified inspector!he will just charged and fail the inspection!a qualified inspector pass the inspection and take the responsibility but he just changed and fail you!

Impressed with their service and efficiency! I needed a MD State Inspection for the MVA and Mike was able to fit me in this morning last minute. He was kind, friendly and helpful. Estimated time was 1.5 hrs and it was done in less than an hour. $99, which seems average for the area. Thank you!

I ve taken my car to Montgomery Shell Auto Service twice. First to replace a catalytic converter and second, to replace a headlight assembly. However it was learned that it was not the headlight but an electrical part. Aman, the owner, took valuable time to assess the headlight problem and saved me thousands of dollars. This alone shows the care they provide their customers, and ensuring their customers are getting the best service they can. Even the cashier was friendly, polite and helpful. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed and can be assured that you will be taken care of. I have some more work and I plan on contacting them again!Service: Auto maintenance

It is easy to do first general car inspection - almost like a walk in, but it is very hard to get re inspection. They tell you they will call you back or give you appointment which is much later. Why can t they handle the reinspection just like the inspection? I recommend to visit other places.

I got good advice from Scott. However the noticed his tone was very off (RUDE) with my wife and I. He would yell at her like she was his wife. And it really bothered me. But this is a separate issue I will tackle with my wife because I explained to my wife I wanted to get to know the mechanic here and to follow my instructions not anyone else s and she was impressed with Scott s cute tone. I was never impressed I simply wanted an opinion and when I had the chance I reminded him this was my vehicle and that was my woman. Any additional things I will address privately with her. Because clearly he wasn t really the problem. But his yelling and tone did not help. I ve encountered much worse I just wish he improved his tone and tact. He was helpful with his opinion.

They got me in for my MD safety inspection same-day, and got it out within 90 mins with a passing result. I can t speak for any other services, but I definitely recommend them for inspections!

Aman provided a wonderful experience! he took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my car, my options and went above and beyond to make my sure my car was safe to drive. Took my motorcycle there to get it MD state inspected. The manger, and his staff were great!!! I was able to make an appointment within 24hrs, where all the local shops are backed up 2-3 weeks. I was in and out within an hour. The state inspector was very easy to talk to, and the manager was as professional as it comes!! I highly recommend this service station for any automotive needs!!

I started using Montgomery Shell Auto Service because they are conveniently located across from my office but these guys are great. Never an issue with their work and no high pressure sales pitch when they detect additional items that need servicing - they just report their findings, give me a quote and let me decide when / if to have the additional work done.Service: Oil change

I bought a car out of state, and needed to get an inspection. I called all over. Some never bothered answering the phone. Some were rude and some were expensive . Finally a co worker, recommended I go here. i checked the reviews and I was sold. I spoke with Ernie, who was very professional and set my appointment. The inspection was $80.I got to my appointment and the cashier John, who was very professional, had me fill out paperwork. Told me it might take 1.5 hours. No problem. I strolled over to Marshalls and Panera.Time flew by, in fact it only took 1 hour. And it passed inspection. Luis the mechanic told me , he did a thorough inspection and no issues found. Ill definitely return .

Ernie, the Service Manager, is awesome! I went in to get a tire plugged and was able to add an oil change at the same time. I ended up having 4 nails throughout 3 different tires plugged + the oil change and I was still out in 40 minutes. Very friendly, polite and professional.

I just moved from out of town and my boyfriend and I got our cars inspected here. They charge $69.95 (that's with a discount) for state inspection whereas the place next door charges $59.99. One of the reasons my boyfriend's car failed was because of the steering wheel cover (there were other things as well, however I later found out that there are no such rules against steering wheel cover as stores would not carry and sell them). Another thing was the 3rd brake light which they were charging $50 for parts and labor (very easy to install and not very expensive for the bulb). We ended up buying the part and said we would install it ourselves. Anyways, my car also needed minor fixes and so I bought parts for my car and had it self-installed. Finally after the cars got certified, I drove for a couple of days (less than a week) before my check engine light turned on. The very next day, my boyfriend's car also had his check engine light turned on. Coincidence? I'm not sure if they messed with both our cars but my boyfriend had his car shipped and I have had no problems with my car prior to this inspection (just the normal maintenance). I would steer clear from this place and perhaps try elsewhere. The guy in charge of the inspection is not very friendly (the associate that helped us, James, was nicer) but don't deserve more business if they're purposefully messing with customers' cars. We ended up just going to dealer because I don't want them to mess with my car again.

I had an inspection and repairs both done this week at Montgomery Shell Auto. I had my 14-month old daughter with me 2/3 times I had to have my car serviced. She was totally into wandering and exploring the items and shined packaging on the shelves. The entire staff, both the man working the cashier and the man working the auto repair desk were so friendly and understanding.As a woman, I am always skeptical about being overcharged on repairs, as the research says women often are... This was not my experience here AT ALL. They actively looked for ways to reduce my cost as much as possible. They tried to repair a broken cord for adjusting drivers seat several different ways before ultimately determining they needed to order the part. They even offered to give me a lift to the MVA to start the registration process while completing the final touches to help me be efficient with my time.Both auto repair workers I interacted with were sincere and personable. They were focused on making my experience as easy as possible. Even though there are probably 50 places on Rockville Pike that do auto repair work between this auto shop and where I live, I will never go anywhere else for repairs. I truly found a gem.I never write review s but this place deserves it. 5 stars!

I came here to get my Maryland state inspection and I was very happy with my services. They did the inspection on short notice and were very quick and honest about the repairs. I was able to drop my car off that day and have all the inspections and repairs done by the end of the day. I ll be coming back here when I need other services in the future.

You all are very nice & professional.I brought 3 of my cars there for inspections, fix tires, & oils changed, & sure will be other services in the future. Took my high mileage vehicle in here for a MD state inspection. It was done in a few hours. It needed a few repairs. They did the repairs the next day. They are fair, open, honest and fast. I will have everything done here from now on. A vehicle with high mileage could be an easy reason for a shop to lie about more repairs than what are actually needed. This shop went above and beyond to do what I needed for as little cost to me as possible. I recommend this shop 100%

I had to get a MD State Inspection a few months back in a pinch to get my license renewed and they were able to squeeze me in no problem! The staff were friendly and it is a great location if you do not have a ride as there is a shopping mall across the way with food!

This business has created multiple listings to hide their bad reviews for their service shop, which are now under the Gas Station page for this address. This service station took my car for a simple oil change. They damaged my vehicle right in front of my eyes - I saw and heard the damage done - and on top of that were unable to do the oil change because my factory height car was too low for their outdated lifts with no ramps.I contacted the owner of this company regarding the damage to my car (Ace Aman Singh) multiple times through many methods including ways we had talked in the past and he ignored everything.There are several lawsuits out against this station and its owners (search on Maryland Judiciary Search for some examples). This service station and its owner and employees are flat out corrupt and you should avoid them at all costs.Service: Oil change

Bad experience there. Never take car for Md State Inspection there if you don't want to tear up your money. They failed my car for a leaking power steering pump. Usually .when pump is bad when you turn the wheel you can easily hear the noise. My car did not have that! My car was in good shape. I had them fixed because I need to pass Md inspection and get to MVA. they charged $470. Worst than this they intentionally set my Engine Check light ON. When I told them that my car never had any Engine Check light on before I made the drop, they argued with me. Finally they set the Engine Check light back to OFF. Stay Away from this place! they are NOT honest.

Beware At All Cost! Unless you like spending extra money. This location for Maryland State Inspections is not honest.I bought a Mercedes ML from another person knowing that I would have to have a hand full of maintenance done because the previous owner did not. So, after buying it I took it to Mercedes dealer in Germantown to get a full diagnostic test. Then I wentTo O Malley s to have most of the work done. My temp tags expired while waiting for parts for the car at the shop. Since I had emissions expiration date coming up I figured take the car to get inspected so I know exactly what needs to be completed so I can get my permanent tags.I dropped off my Mercedes ML to get an inspection around 9:40am and they said it was ready around 1pm. Only to find out that the mechanic Luis could not complete the inspection because he said the tags were expired. The first test on inspection says road test. If you could NOT do the road test because of the tags why wouldn t you just call and say sorry can t complete the test. Instead, he does an incomplete job and then still charges me $79.99 for an Incomplete inspection.On top of that I had alignment, tires, new brakes and rotors from Mercedes all the way around. Went in with no brake lights on and received my car back with brake lights on???? What?? Not sure what Luis did.Then the list that was given on the half inspection had extra items that needed to be fixed on my car but was not on The Mercedes diagnostic and inspection test. (I honestly feel like Mercedes dealer is way more trustworthy than this little Shell mechanic shop. I trust more in what their list says).Once I checked out the sales rep said to me. You can get these items fixed here. Well not today!! I asked him to charge me less because he did not complete the inspection he said could not and talk to Luis. Of course that went no where. I really don t like to ripped off or dishonest people.I usually don t go to shops like this but it was 12 mins from my house and had an opening. Make sure before going here to READ all the Reviews on this shop. And alway get a second opinion because I plan to do so. Too bad OMalley s in Beltsville, MD does not do State inspection. Been going to them for several years as they are honest and fair with prices.

Love taking my car to this shop. The staff is very professional, courteous and most important the job gets done promptly as promised. I have taken my car in not only for auto inspections but also for some repairs. Luis is usually the mechanic that takes care of my car and he is definitely very knowledgeable. I have recommended my family and friends to this shop and they too have been very satisfied with the service!

SERVICE: MD State auto Inspection---Needed my MD safety inspection. Just moved from VA to MD and the process of getting a MD driver's license and car registration has been difficult, especially in these Covid-19 times. A friend referred me to Montgomery Shell Auto Service which played a big part in helping me prepare for my upcoming MVA vehicle registration appointment. I dropped off my car to Montgomery Shell and technicians there provided me with my completed MD inspection.While the car was being serviced I went across the street to the shopping mall and got some things for my new apartment. All-in-all I accomplished a lot that day, including signing up for MD auto insurance. Now all set for my MVA car registration appointment next week. I forgot the mechanics name I think it was edgar or eugene but anyways he is a great guy. Gave me a discount on my tires and passed my state inspection. This shop has appointments available whereas shops closeby had over a week wait. Its attached to a gas station so you can get drinks and snacks while you wait.

What can I say besides do not go here if you need your vehicle inspected. Do not go here if you need fuel. Do not go here to grab snacks. This business and this location is filled with terrible employees and managers. There was this one employee I believe to be Hispanic who actually tried to be helpful. Go somewhere else. Shell stations are over priced. Just a horrid place.

I own a 2000 Honda Accord, I had stumbled upon this gas station when my oil drain plug had been screwed on wrong by another shop. When I got to Montgomery Shell, they had replaced my engine and now my car runs like the first day i bought it, I highly recommend it for sure
