Nick Whittington and I just purchased a 2020 Jeep Compass from Jonathan Leyh. If you want a dealership that cares more about the customer than the sale this is the place to go. We had a wonderful experience.

I moved back to Cumberland last January 2022 & have visited this Ford location several times. I wasn t familiar w/all of the extra warranties & services available to me until the AMAZING Jennifer Wilson explained them to me, thoroughly too! She has saved me TONS of expenses & I would like to thank her for her impeccable customer service, as well as giving my Frenchie extra cuddles & attention. Jennifer s knowledge of Ford s opportunities available to customers is too notch! She won t accept a gift from me, so I hope my review will gain attention from Ford so they can give her the recognition she deserves. Thank you Ford & Jennifer Wilson! I appreciate all you do for me!

Love this place. Service people are very nice. Willing to help you out on ur auto. The owner loves pets. I had my dogs there and they were welcome too.

Rude sales and service is awful every time it leaves there will be another problem. Not honest and don't back there product. They say it seems completely normal for a transmission to go out without warning or slipping and over 6000.00 to repair has.nothing to do with recall and lack of adressing issues when brought to them. They did the transmission flush at 90,000 miles and left skid plate loose to fall off the highway, then told me I don't need it. Except it does protect you exaust and cost me early replace of catalytic.. now the park aid fault and hill start assist that wasn't addressed has nothing to do with it binding up when reversing on hill and there IA a transmission recall that they want adress but mine is worn out and not there issue. Honestly don't go to this dealership they will screw you

Well let's see, Things they stated they did but didn't. They didn't rotate the tires, didn't gauge the tires, didn't check the brakes, didn't check the windshield washer fluid, didn't reset the spare tire repair kit warning message, didn't check the spare tire, didn't return my remaining oil, I use my own 5 quart oil car takes 4 1/2 gts, They said that this time it took all 5 qts? ..I get a better feeling that they changed my oil and used my oil when I get that container back. didn't do anything about all this even though I had proof of all these things not being done. Front right tire and wheel was put on less then 100 miles before this service, it was still on the same axle, so not rotated, if they didn't take the tires off they didn't check the brakes. I added 3 qts washer fluid when I got home.

Do not even bother with this place the former owner would be appalled at this business that he built what kind of ford service department does not have ford parts on hand

One of the best service departments you can ever find. it's nice to see a good honest Ford dealer that is family-owned-and-operated still in business. I come all the way up from DC to have them do warranty work as possible because I know Dave and Jen are awesome as well as everyone else. Everytime I bring my car up to you guys, I have never had to bring anything back because you get it right the first time. if you see something else, then you'll take care of that on the same visit. I don't even mind you doing non warranty work because you all are are that awesome

Five star customer service! Our car broke down while traveling to the area and these nice folks not only got it repaired quickly, they gave us a lift to and from our hotel about 30 minutes away. They were all so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!

Worst mechanics ever, took in for transmission work, it now runs worse the when I took it in. Now they say that they have no record of my visit, they know who I am. Never do business with this company again.

We got some factory defects fixed, and during the repair some damage was done to the leather on the door. Shaffer did the right thing and is going to replace the door. It was an unfortunate situation all around but they handled it well.

DONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! My husband and I had to send our Ford F-350 here, after it completely broke down within 24 hours of purchasing it from another dealer, and all of this while we were on our way to Ohio for work! Shaffer went above and beyond to get us back on the road ASAP.A local changed their appointment by a whole week just so we could get our vehicle fixed- we don t know who you are, but you gave us a break when we so desperately needed it. I wish there was any way we could repay your kindness, but know that we will NEVER forget it.God gave us a way when we saw none.

We are part time RVers. Eric in the service department saved us. We called during our travels through the area. While drive we got a check engine and a wrench indicator. called multiple dealers. Eric was very very professional. He told us you get here (4:00PM) while we are open and I can have a technician run the codes. We got there 4:05PM. He had a technician check the truck out throughly. Thank you thank you

Would never buy a vehicle from this dealership. My aunt purchased a pre owned vehicle and purchased and extended warranty. For the last several months she has had nothing but problems with the vehicle. The dealership has been in contact with the corporate office about the recent issue she is having with the vehicle. Today they called her and told her they have a great deal for her. They will take the vehicle back but only give her what it books for. They will have to roll over what's left on the loan into a new vehicle which will back her payment go up a lot. If she does not take their deal they are going to charge her $100 per day to have her broke down vehicle on their lot since they cant figure out what is wrong with it. Where is the great deal ?This dealership is a complete joke. Would give it zero stars if I could. STAY AWAY FAR AWAY. There are too many dealerships in the area that are glad to have your business.

Service Dept is very unorganized and understaffed. They never have common parts in stock and have to order pretty much everything so expect that when anything is broken. They do not care about the customer and their answer to everything is we ve never seen that before or I ve never heard of that happening when other Ford dealers are way more helpful and seem to know exactly what the cause is and have way more experienced team members. I will not be going back to Shaffer Ford for any further service or repair needs, warranty or otherwise.. to me it s worth the drive to find a Ford dealer who cares about the customer and pays attention to their concerns and requests during a service or repair visit.

I have not been there since the mid to late 1980's when my Ford Tempo broke down 60 miles away from home and over 100 miles from the dealership I bought it from. They worked on it once. I do have to drive past it every time I go to Cumberland or LaVale, MD. Would not recommend if still under same ownership as one back then. Look but don't buy or get service work.

Terrible service! Fraudulent liars. All we needed was a chip key replaced. It took 3 men standing all together to come up with what was needed. Was told to bring up the key, only one I have left only unlocks door, and they could trace that and it would be about $90+$25. Brought the key up next day, then was told the car needed towed. It was towed the next day after, now the bill is $400. The story was changed 3 times in 3 days. Now the car needs towed again because I wouldnt trust these people to touch my car.

Tried to turn in a 2013 Ford Explorer Limited from a lease. Went to closest dealership as advised by Ford Credit. When I arrived, I waited to speak to the sales manager. I stated I wanted to let them know I was turning in a vehicle in 3 weeks, he proceeded to tell me that they don't lease vehicles there and do not know the process. I called Ford Credit again, they apologized for the dealership and recommended my next closest Timbrook in Keyser. I ended up turning my vehicle in there and bought a car from them. Shaffer Ford will never, ever earn any of my business, from parts sales, service or warranty work, none! I stopped in after my sale to discuss the blatant lies and requested a call from the owner. I left my business card, 2 weeks later no call. I am not surprised, just disappointed! This dealership does not represent the Ford brand at all.

Fantastic! My Expedition EL was in an ice storm wreck - these wonderful guys took great care of her, not only fixing her up, but kept me informed, cleaned her like new, and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness!

Bought a new 2015 F150 here - it will be the last vehicle that I EVER buy from this Ford Dealer. Their customer service is lacking, by far. A few of their salesmen were friendly, but make a few requests (color, engine size...) and they may turn on you quickly. The experience reminded me of dealing with your typical 'Used Car Salesman." I told our salesman that he lacked customer service and he said, "Well, if you had to deal with people accusing you of lying (referring to the idea of a used car salesman) all day long, it would be hard for you too." I traded a vehicle in and they said it was going to auction - nope... it went down the street to the used car lot of another nearby used car dealer (which is where they sell their trade-ins to). If you want to lose money and experience poor customer service - this is the place to go!
