This is a great convenient auto shop with great service. Did MD safety inspection and windshield replacement for fair price and am very pleased with the process. Brian was very professional and knowledgeable and was overall a great pleasure to work with. They only want the best for their customer and clearly do NOT cut corners.

I ve never felt better leaving my car somewhere. I showed up they were so busy it was crazy. Brian not only took my job but was able to give me an estimate on time and stayed open so I could come pick up the car after work. I was greeted with kindness and left feeling so cared for. I really appreciate their service and trust them with all auto concerns. It was affordable as well for a financially independent student. Thank you :)) sorry this is so delayed

As a young female adult, I ve never had a more positive experience at a car service before. Cars is not something I have a lot of knowledge on and in general do not enjoy going to dealerships. I went to Lains and Brian was not only incredibly professional but understanding. He explained everything to me, ensuring I understood the issues as well as listed out the next steps and recommendations I can take. I felt valued and respected as a customer. Not to mention the quality of work they do is top notch. Brian and his team went above and beyond with researching my issue and ensured they fully knew what was going on in a timely manner. Not to mention their rates are unlike anything I ve seen in this area (I have been to 4 mechanics/dealership to fix my issue) and Lains was by far the most affordable and best customer service and quality. I ll only be going to Lains from now on! So happy I found them! I m

Absolutely amazing experience here, especially working with Brian. I'm not from the area and have never had to get work done on my car, and was very concerned about being up-charged for services. They were great though, super communicative with me about their diagnostics and the different solutions and they had the work done so quickly. Once they diagnosed the issue, they not only had the work done with 36 hours, but they also put time in to make sure they were getting the needed parts at the best price for me. If you have any need definitely go here, they prioritize helping their customers over making a quick buck.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

They did a quick and fine job inspecting my brakes, being honest about the service I need. The front desk was friendly and responsive over the phone. I would like it more if only they could be more consistant about their quotes. I was told I could get my front brakes done for less than $400 over the phone, but when I arrived at the shop, the quote became $530. (No other problems found, just the standard brake replacement.) Anyway, the brake inspection alone costs me over $60. I wouldn't come here in the first place if I knew the actual cost. I won't be back.

Lains has been my go-to auto shop for years. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, and I really appreciate the extra time they take to explain the different services they provide. They provide quality auto services at fair prices. I highly recommend this shop for everything from oil changes to more involved auto repairs.

Expert, honest, efficient, and accommodating. Looking for a local mechanic? Look no further, I was passing through town on my way to Georgia. I had car problems and no idea where to go or who to trust. Lains saved me. Thanks to Brian and Brennan! Also, if you are a good mechanic and looking for work, Brian is a man who understands the value of a good worker - go see him.

LIKELY SCAMMERS, BEWARE!They tried to charge me $360 for a 1998 Honda distributor. I Looked up the price online and it was $60 max. So I bought the distributor online and confronted them about the price, they denied hiking up the price even with convincing evidence.I tried to install the distributor myself but was unsuccessful, so I asked them to just replace my old distributor with the one I bought and I'll pay labor fee. A day later I get a call saying that one of my new distributor's metal notches "broke off" because I had "install it wrong".Looking at the physical shape (picture attached below) of the notches, and knowing how it's attached to the engine, I can't fathom how that could have happened. And if that really happened, why it was only one of the notches that broke off. Considering how they straight up denied hiking up the prices, I can't help but imagine that they broke my new distributor on purpose to cover up their own lies.Besides the absurd inspection fee and the blatant lies, they at one point, after I had confronted they about hiking the price, called out all of their employees to crowd intimidate me. I would NOT get any type of service here.

Lains is the only place I trust and will take my car. The owner Bryan is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything in a way that makes sense to me (someone who knows nothing about cars). I have been to his shop a handful of times and every time I feel satisfied. And even if I didn't feel satisfied Bryan has the person at the front desk call you in a week and follow up to make sure everything is working properly. I have never been to a shop that I actually trusted and felt like I understood what was really going on and that I wasn't getting ripped off.Services: Electrical repair, Auto brake repair, Air conditioning, Oil change

5-star rating and sincere appreciation to owner Bryan and his crew at Lain's -- one of my best experiences all-around at a automotive mechanic shop in the DMV area! Bryan W. runs an efficient and professional yet friendly service operation -- his investment in his staff and office orderliness, reflects his commitment to customer-service, timely information, and quality results. Carly is ideal in front office providing customer-facing service, information and repair updates -- such a huge business differentiator to be able to speak directly with her when you call the first time instead of being put on hold or having to leave a voice message! Technician Brennan provides efficient, knowledgeable and creative mechanic repair and servicing -- he put real thought and creative problem-solving into a coolant leak diagnosis and repair that would otherwise have been difficult and more-involved because of engine bay configuration and size. Would recommend the Lain's team for repair and regular maintenance, for both domestic and 'more unusual' euro autos!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes, Oil change

I will never forget when I wait here for a new tire. The service and the lady of the phone was very nice. However, when it came to paying I guess Mr. lame thought that me and another black person had taken his hundred dollar bill when he did not have a cash register, I was counting money. He dropped $100 bill and will automatically look up to us Black people and ask who has the money not realizing he drop the money that says a lot.Service: Tires

Lain s is an incredible establishment to deal with. My car was towed to their business at the recommendation of a friend. Long story short, my car ended up sitting in the parking lot for almost a month before the towers came to pick it up. Not once did the owner tell me I had to move it. The owner instead worked with me the entire month while we awaited a new title so the car could be towed. I will definitely be doing business here again.

I dislodged the core of my tire valve stem and was losing air pressure fast. I was able to pull it in, they looked at it, and I was out in less than 15 mins. It was a quick, easy fix, so they didn't charge me. Big thank you and I plan to come back!Service: TiresService: Tires

I took my car over for a MD State inspection and oil change. Folks at the shop are calm, organized and don t beat around the bush. Rich did a great job! He took the time to explain what I needed to do next to keep the car running and in good standing. Don t hesitate to give them a call if you ever need any repairs done on your car! They re great at what they do and the repair costs are reasonable.Service: Oil change

I came in with a coupon that said free brake inspection and when I asked at the end to have the brake charge taken off the owner said the coupon only applied if I also got the brakes repaired along with the inspection. They did take off a portion of the charge but not the whole amount. Also the next time I went to get an oil change the technicians said the oil plate screws had been stripped and I had to get a whole new oil pan. The staff was friendly and respectful, only reason I m not giving 1 star.

Can t say enough good things about Lain s. We had car trouble enroute from NC to visit UMD in College Park and Bryan fit us in on short notice (while we were visiting the campus) and took great care of us. They work on Smart cars! Who knew? I've lived in and around College Park for many years, and never really gave them a second look. Now that I know I have a reliable place to take my Smart car, they'll have all of my business. Am very happy with their honesty and excellent work. Great folks to deal with! 5 stars!

Arrived when they opened at 7 am. My car had a flat tire. The mechanics were very friendly, courteous and professional. Someone was taking care of me within minutes and my tire was fixed in less than 30 minutes. When I am in College Park, this is the only place I will take my car.Service: TiresService: Tires

They did a very good job on the inspection of my car. They were quick, affordable, and professional. They even pumped up my tires for me for free and made sure all of the inflation was even, after the Toyota dealership screwed up and pumped up one tire super high and deflated all the others. Overall, I'm very happy.

It's hard say you enjoy a trip to the mechanic. But I have yet to visit Lains and leave with a pit. My couple of visits have been great experiences. They haven't done unnecessary work. They haven't over charged me (for a mechanic shop, their labor isn't ridiculous). They have good hours and nice staff. Always got a quick turn around time. And of course, everything has worked when I left. No returns bad work or faulty parts.These are my mechanics :).

My family ended up with a completely flat tire behind this shop, and we went in just to ask whether they had a pump we could use to reinflate it. Instead, Tyler jumped up from lunch to take the whole tire off, pump it up, and then he let us know that unfortunately it couldn t be repaired, and put on the spare tire for us. They even went out of their way to look into ordering us a new tire. Everyone was so wonderful and kind- the flat was bad luck but we were lucky to have broken down right by these guys. We took our 2006 Chevy Malibu there to have brake work done. Now the car drives great. And all of it for a decent price I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Took my car in for a Maryland Inspection and I was very pleased with the level of service I received. Rich was extremely professional and knowledgeable - and the customer service was on point. I highly recommend Lains Auto and I will definitely let them take care of my auto needs.

Greedy and potentially dishonest. Won t be going back.Can t speak on their quality of work but took my car there for inspection and was failed on a few little things and brakes. Price for repair was way more expensive than what was listed on the KBB recommended price range. Also told me that if I got the repairs somewhere else, I would have to pay an added $60 re-inspection fee.Got my car inspected at Shell down the road and they did not look for things to fail like Lains did and also gave a much better quote on the brakes.Lains showed greedy practices and I definitely won t be going back for maintenance, inspection or anything else.

I cannot recommend Lains highly enough. They are honest, treat their customers with respect, clean, timely, and personable. They will always explain something to me if I don't understand or know anything about it and do so without making me feel stupid. Over the years they've serviced five of our cars and have led me to make good selling and buying decisions, whether on purpose or simply as a matter of course. As long as we live in this area, Lains - and Brian in particular - will have our business.
