I went to Thrifty recently for an oil change and to have my brakes replaced. My experience was great, it s been hard to find a reliable place around town to do good work. Michael got my car in and out even though they seemed super slammed. Pricing is the best in town from what i ve seen, Definitely will be back!Services: Brakes, Oil changeServices: Brakes, Oil change

!!!!!!!WARNING STAY AWAY!!!!!These guys are absolutely scams they find things wrong with your car that we're not there before so they can overprice you on parts and labor that they have.they are a family corporation make up all their prices and they all work together. I didn't want to get my exhaust checked out but he checked it anyway found some problems with my car. Suggested that he should fix it they are total scams. Decided to get an attitude with me because I did not want him to fix my exhaust. Something as simple as a battery should not take hours to do they are scammers. They just want to take your money.Services: Electrical repair, Tires, Battery

You know what... I was going to leave it alone at just a one star but since you are saying you never provided service for me I will describe my experience:I called a day prior to service to confirm the price. It was $240. Once I got there for my appt it was $240 plus $100 for the contractor fee. I hesitantly agreed. I could see the dishonesty on Doug s face so I called another shop just to be sure. The other shop said it would be ONLY the contractor fee since they get paid from that!!I told Doug and Micheal immediately to stop service if they had already started and presented this information to them.Doug offered to lower the price to the $100 contractor fee plus only $120 for him. Of course I said no because that was still $120 more than the other shop!!After talking it over he agreed to follow through with service for only the contractor price.I was very turned off by this so I rated them on google while waiting for my car.To make matters worse Doug and Michael asked could they speak to me inside the empty shop. Once inside Doug questioned, is there any particular reason why you rated us a one star on google I responded yes, because you are dishonest. Doug said, I would appreciate if you removed it. Today, they respond to this post saying they never provided service. Would you like me to post receipts Doug?? Because at this point you are questioning my integrity.I would like to see every business win, but this is beyond disrespectful.Thrifty Auto Repair is run by scammers, dishonest, and unprofessional staff.

Thrifty Auto Repair in Annapolis is our 'Go To' place for car maintenance and repair. They are exceptionally honest about what needs to be done. They are really good about keeping us informed of progress, diagnosis, recommended service and cost estimates. They are realistic in their estimates of time to complete. The staff is always professional and helpful both to me and to my wife. I have recommended them to friends who are equally happy with their services.

After working there several months, I learned this wasn't the shop for me. The owner has zero respect for employees and customers. Michael the service advisor, also his son, is very nice and respectful, but Doug kind of set a very negative atmosphere there. He trash-talks his employees and the customers behind their back and is just overall a very negative person. Stay away from this place

I recently brought a vehicle to Thrifty for a Md State Safety Inspection. While the owner was pleasant, I found nothing thrifty about the establishment. I should have known the pricing would not be friendly when Doug insisted on charging me $22 for swapping my front tires to the rear even though I pointed out 2 tires were already removed for the MD State Inspection. The State Inspection resulted in a quote $1764 quote from Thrifty to complete the work. The most expensive Item was replacing the power steering and 3 associated hoses for $734. I took the car elsewhere to be repaired. The dealer tech informed me the power steering pump was fine and only the hoses were replaced at a savings of over $500. The other work was done for less than Thrifty's quote.Thrifty appeared to be charging a flat rate as if each work item was done independently. They did not seem to provide any discount given there were efficiencies in place as the vehicle would already be on their lift and ready to work on with only a single clean-up charge.I was disappointed my experience with Thrifty did not measure up to most customers have said.

I recently had a state inspection done at Thrifty. They were able to see me right away. They were timely and their rates are competitive. They were very straightforward with the work that had to be done.I will definitely return and trust them to take good care of my car.

I needed to get a central brake light repaired for my 2011 Audi A4. I already purchased the brake light and only needed a quote for installation. Even though I had the roof unsnapped, the positioning of the light did not allow me to unplug the old light and plug in the new one. I ask for a quote to simply unplug the old one and reinstall the new one. Doug quoted me $200. I called Gotts Auto Body immediately after and was quoted $46 at most. Just in case, I called another auto body shop which quoted me $50. They were going to charge me 4X more than other shops!!!! While I can't review the quality of their work, I can review the astronomical pricing they will charge you. It seems to be the case with other reviews as well.

I highly recommend Thirfty to anyone who needs major, or minor repairs done to their vehicles. I had to bring in both of my vehicles for repair within the same week, and both were completed in a timely fashion at a fair rate. It's hard to find a auto repair company you can trust, and I'm glad to have been referred to Thrifty Auto! Great work! Thanks again!

This business is very unprofessional to the front desk employees/technicians and even the business owner. Everyone was very belligerent and cursing.I just wanted one simple thing done a inspection and they took over 2 hours to complete an inspection that they still could not complete. The business owner Doug Roberson said that they would need to keep the vehicle in order to complete the inspection so I told them to "drop my vehicle please" and I wanted to leave they proceeded to argue with me.I explain to them that I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau because of how unprofessional they were. The next day I took my vehicle to another inspection repair auto business and it was completed in 30 minutes successfully. Without any issues!!!!!!Attached is the PASSED inspection I received from ANOTHER auto repair business that provides inspections.I received this the next day after I was treated awful at Thrifty Auto repair. PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. It will take forever and you will be disappointed!!!!!! IF YOU DONT WANT TO WAIT 2 hours for an inspection. YOU BETTER PICK ANOTHER PLACE ASAP!

I brought my 2013 F150 to get a cat back system, the Magnaflow system was a little out of my price range, Bobby was able to give me a good deal on a custom exhaust kit. They were able to bend and weld straight pipes to fit my truck perfectly! I love the sound and look of my new system!

My air conditioning wasn't blowing this year when i went to turn it on, I took it to my usual mechanic to get a shot of freon and was told I needed a new compressor and that it would be $800 for the freon and compressor. Naturally I took it to get a second opinion. After heavy diagnostics and putting power directly to the compressor we found it was working fine and the other fans weren't working either, none of them getting power. We concluded that it was the control module for the AC system and ordered the new part. The next day I can back and the part was installed. Now after 2 days in there fantastic waiting room (with free coffee and gatorade) the AC is working great and for less then i was originally quoted by the other mechanic. May I also add that I accidentally left over $200 cash in my console and not a cent was missing.

Horrible experience today. First I was greeted in the most robotic inhuman faces. Seems like I was not welcome there due to my different identity. Manager & the owner had the same repulsive attitude. I wasted my $62.99 for the diagnostic which they did it in less than 10 minutes and after that they give me the assessment of repair expenses of fixing the heat and exhaust for $1874.I will never see them again.

Do not go there if you want a MD state inspection. After a estimate to fix my late model import for over 2000 dollars to pass. I paid and went across to the street to get another inspection and passed. Unbelievable. I knew how they presented themselves something was wrong. Maybe because I am a minority. Who knows..If you have money to throw away go here because there is absolutely no thrift here only thieves.

Incorrect diagnosis. Thrifty told me two brake calipers/rotors needed to be replaced, and it would cost $768. I went to another place for a second quote and they personally showed me the issue, that only one brake caliper/rotor needed to be replaced, this other place did it for $50.00 in front of me. Problem solved.Thrifty also told me I needed to have two front drive axles replaced, and two valve cover gaskets replaced. Wrong. Only one drive axle and cv needs replacement. Not two. Place #2 quoted me for $300 for this. While thrifty wanted $596 + $360.I ended up paying thrifty $52 something for their time/quote. Please don't settle for one quote. Take your car to two or three shops and see what they say. Don't tell the other shops you had the car looked at elsewhere. By doing this, I saved roughly $650 for the caliper/rotor replacement, and I saved a total of around $900 if you include the other craziness thrifty told me needed to be done.
