I am borderline disgusted by the incompetence and lack of professionalism The woman at the front desk (Kathy) is committed to NOT helping you at ALL. Seems like she s only there to dish out incredibly rude comments I will continue to spread this word locally and recommend Enterprise in Thomaston. :) thanks!

Beware. I called the day before reservation ( which I had booked almost a month earlier) to confirm and was told there might not be any cars available. Sure enough, turns out there was no car available and my reservation was canceled by Avis, leaving me completely in the lurch. When I called the main Avis # to seek some help, all they did was offer me a car from a different location at four times the price - then cut me off. Probably not really the fault of the Owls Head office as they are dependent on the company to supply them, but you should definitely avoid dealing with Avis through a small office. This was obviously just totally unacceptable practice.

This location is not a corporate Avis location and will try to nickel and dime you. When you walk in there are huge signs saying you need your mileage and receipt showing you filled up the car within a 7 mile radius. I have never been asked for these items when returning a car as they re always verified by the agent. The manager that was working had horrible customer service and rushed out to check the information. She came back and said the van was filthy and we would be charged a $450 excessive cleaning fee. What!!! This car was not excessively dirty and she was only retaliating against us. I drove an additional 2 hours to Portland and returned the car with no issues. Since this is not a corporate location I would only assume they re trying to take advantage of customers to make more money. In the end the Portland location made it right due to my horrible experience.

They are about the only car rental service we use in Maine, so much more reasonably priced than places in Waterville or Augusta. Never had a problem, always clean cars, friendly and reliable service.

Very unfriendly, complicated and not trying to find a solution to offer a comprehensive service to their customers.Moreover, they have restrictions on car rentals which they don't mention on their website.We booked a car online but ended up empty handed. Had to get a taxi to a neighbouring car rental in Thomaston, who gave us a surprisingly nice car without any problems.

If I could rate a zero I would. My daughter paid $84 to rent a car for a couple of hours. When she returned to the airport and the flight was canceled the people at the airport said the rental car people knew and should not have let her return the car. They charged her an additional $150 for the same car on the same day. This feels like double billing and it should be illegal. I m very sad that someone would take advantage of a person in need.

Sketchy. Terrible communication. Some sort of franchise/ licensing deal with one person operating the whole affair from what I can tell. She s working angles that have nothing to do with customer service or getting you in n a car when you need it. Skip at all costs.

Kathy who manages the site gave me a number to text her at if my flight was delayed which it was - huge help!
