We stopped here for a last minute stay during our road trip up the coast of Maine and really enjoyed staying at Stage Run By The Sea. The room was clean, equipped with everything (incl. a nice sized fridge), the service was absolutely great and the location is close for dining, shopping and hiking opportunities. The walk to downtown Ogunquit is about 10 minutes and it takes about 15 minutes from the footbridge to the ocean. The front desk manager moved mountains for us and was just lovely! We were provided with lots of tips on things for us to do. It is a nice motel for the great price. If we come back to Maine I will definitely stay here again!Rooms: The room was clean, equipped with everything (incl. a nice sized fridge)Nearby activities: Nice restaurants close byWalkability: The walk to downtown Ogunquit is about 10 minutes and it takes about 15 minutes from the footbridge to the ocean.

I did some research and I found this place had new management. Overall this stay was absolutely incredible. The place was very clean and also beautiful. The pool was absolutely stunning. The beds were so comfortable, I slept like a baby! The staffing management there was beyond accommodating and super friendly. Every time you walk in the office you re greeted by a friendly face. Check in and check out was a smooth quick process. Ogunquit in general is fun but staying in this location made the trip incredible. I definitely am coming back and I would recommend this place to any of my friends and family.

I liked staying at Stage Run By The Sea. It was perfect. Clean room, service was great. It is in a perfect location for food, shopping and close to places to hike. Parks and preserves and all the towns you want to explore. If I get back up to Maine I will definitely stay there. I was up there visiting my daughter and we love to hike. She said I chose the best place to stay because it was close to everything.Nearby activities: Close to everything.Walkability: Restaurants were within a 2 minute to 5 to 8 minute walk.Noteworthy details: Great for families too. Lots of fun things for families to do.

We liked are stay here. It was a nice location just a quick 1/2 mile to center of Ogunquit or to footbridge beach. That was one of the best parts, was its a relatively quick walk. The rooms were pretty good too. We walked in and the room smelt like cleaner which was good because we could tell it was freshly cleaned. The beds were very comfy and the comforter was soft. Also I got in the bed and noticed the sheets smelt nice! The only things I can say is I wish we had more coffee, plus cream and sugar. We were only given 1 coffee packet for our 3 day stay, 1 pack of cream and sugar each, it just wasn t enough. Same thing with towels too, we were only given 1 towel each for are 3 days, it just wasn t enough. If we were given 2 each of both of those things it would have been perfect so we didn t have to ask for more (which we really didn t want to have to do) on are short stay.

My fianc & I just returned from our stay at The Stage Run By The Sea and it was a perfect place to stay! Dylan, the manager, greeted us with a warm welcome & a smile and was so accommodating to our needs! The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and it was very spacious. The hotel is only a short walk from downtown Ogunquit and it is in the perfect location! The beach is right down the road and even better Big Daddy s ice cream is right next door. Thank you so much for this wonderful stay and we will definitely be coming back on our next trip!

Nice motel for the great price. We stopped during a little road trip up the coast of Maine. We had stayed in up scale hotels in other coastal towns such as Kennebunkport, Camden, etc. which cost around $400 per night. This place was considerably cheaper and we had to remember not to compare this "apple" to the other "oranges" where we had been staying during our trip. The place shows some age on the A/C and furniture, etc. But, nothing appears to be completely neglected. It also had a slight musty smell but it's difficult to stay at any motel near the coast and avoid this. The front desk manager was extremely nice and helpful. The room was clean and didn't have that disgusting feeling. It was a clean place to rest while we explored Ogunquit. It's not as close to the central action of Ogunquit as other motels but it's not so far away that you can't walk if you are in relative okay shape. If you enjoy a small leisurely walk, it's not that bad of a location. The biggest complaint is that the ice machine does not dispense ice. Instead you have to reach in and use a scoop that you are trusting all the other residents washed their hands before using the same scoop. Therefore, there really wasn't anything that bad all things being considered.Best of all, it was a small relief on our vacation budget which was amassing itself rather quickly from the other hotels, eating out, gas, etc. We would stay here again if we ever get to road trip up the coast of Maine again.

Stage Run by the Sea was amazing to stay at in Ogunquit. My husband and I lucked out and we re able to book a rather last minute stay for a few nights. The experience was great. Owners Dylan and Michael were spectacular (and their puppers was adorable!). The room was great and we did not have any problems with noise or disruptions. The amenities in the motel were great! What made it even better was the great location. We were about a 5-10 minute walk from downtown Ogunquit and about a 10-15 minute walk from the footbridge to the ocean in the other direction. Dylan and Michael were great in giving tips on things for us to do, including recommendations about bars and restaurants, drag shows, and comedy shows! What really made the experience top notch was how welcoming and inclusive Stage Run by the Sea is; as gay men we normally feel a little more accepted in Ogunquit than elsewhere, but staying at State Run by the Sea upped that comfort level due to the inclusivity. I would highly recommend a stay if you are looking for welcoming, accepting, and convenience!

Recently, we enjoyed a wonderful stay - over a week - at the Stage Run Inn. With new ownership, it's a delightful place to enjoy this part of Maine's gorgeous coastline, just outside the hustle-and-bustle of downtown Ogunquit. The Stage Run has the advantage of being in a relatively quiet part of Route 1 (though a delicious ice cream shop is next door), while also being on the trolley route. That made it easy to visit the beaches, shop downtown, or enjoy a memorable meal at Ogunquit's fun restaurants and clubs.Dylan, the manager, was especially helpful, answering questions about the area and making great recommendations for our holiday stay. Among his assistants, Mickey was a great conversationalist and made sure everything was "just so" in our room.We loved waking up to the fresh salt air through our open windows. Also, the view from our balcony room was photo-worthy. Through the trees, we could even see the ocean. The rooms at the Stage Run have a very nostalgic feeling to them, so we felt right at home... with all the comforts of home, as well: free wi-fi, a nice big TV, a microwave and a refrigerator. The Stage Run is exactly what we'd hoped for: It's a well-maintained motel with all the expected comforts, but with character we wouldn't find at a chain-owned hotel or motel.Note: Parking can look limited from the road, but parking is available along either side of the motel. Even when the motel was full, there was always room for our car. We'll happily return to the Stage Run during future visits to York County. This motel is in a great location with great people, and a room that met all our expectations.Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic Maine experience and a good night's sleep.

For all to see- I was told to change date on Expedia not cancel and make another reservation and that she would change it in her end. The trust is lost for me. I m supposed to go on and make another reservation and believe this unhelpful woman is going to go ahead on her end and give me a new reservation without charging me? I just don t believe it. There is so much negative energy here. My daughter and I were upset all night. I don t feel like it was explained to me properly and her saying to me on my last call she could have helped me just shows she is just not professional at all.I say to anyone reading this. Notice the responses from the owner on the negative reviews. What I see is a strong need to put down the consumer and show everyone how right they are. Notice the tone and the shaming of the customer- and ask yourself do you want to give this business your money?PS- since posting this I spoke to someone who works at a different hotel. My reservation was placed on a Thursday for a Sunday. The money was not supposed to be taken out of my account on Sunday. My money was taken from my account on Thursday. The woman from Stage Run actually bragged to me over the phone that she had just run my card through.

I have significant circumstances that forced me to change my reservation. I booked on Hotel.com which I will not do again. When trying to change my reservation - the front desk person was quite rude and tried hard to be unaccommodating. I never write negative reviews only positive but this was not a good experience. They need to figure out the coordination between the hotel and the app that they use to book. I spent half my day on the phone getting the runaround. Never had this type of service in Ogunquit.

The location is great for the price in the summer. The employees are nice and it is a quiet place. But that is where it ends...Check in time was 2 pm and we arrived at 220 and our room was not ready. We were able to switch rooms to check in to get on with our day with the children. When we came back to the room to shower the shower didnt work properly. It got freezing cold then extreemly hot, back and forth for the entire shower and the water burned my leg it got so hot. My son went to shower and the pull knob fell off to change from a shower to bath, anyway that was our 2 bad experiences, everything else was fine.I would find another place next time however.

We loved this cute, small and very clean motel. It was all we needed for our 2 night stay. I highly recommend this hotel. When you walk into the room and there are white bedspreads, you know it will be clean!

The staff is very friendly. The guy at the front desk not only gave me directions around town, but drew me a map, including favorite local restaurants that don't prey on the tourists. I booked a room with 2 double beds for myself, my wife, and 2 young daughters. When I checked in, the front desk guy, (wish I would have gotten his name) informed me that since they werent too packed, he had upgraded my family to 2 queen beds. All of this combined with the price of the room, which was ALOT lower than other hotels in town, made our stay very enjoyable. If we ever go back to Ogunquit, this is where we will be staying. I highly recommend it to anyone who isn't looking to spend 500+ dollars a night on a hotel, since if you're like my family, you won't be in the room much anyway.

Older, yet well maintained facilities. We arrived on motorcycles in pouring rain after a day of mostly rainy riding. we couldn't get a Taxi or Uber to pick us up, too late in the evening and too early in the tourist season. Desk clerk after exhausting all other options borrowed the owners SUV, took us to a nice restaurant, gave us his card then came back and picked us up all for no charge! This is the kind of service that is above and beyond all expectations! if I am ever in the area again I will stay here!Side note for Bikers, they provided old towels to wipe down your bikes!

My earlier review was taken down by the authority of the management at Stage Run By The Sea. Their office is used for checking in and checking out all customers well as handling soiled linens, laundry area, and other needed supplies (do I spot a potential COVID concern here? The management are more concerned about keeping their employees away and safe from potential COVID, but they do not show that they care about their customers being exposed).Think as you read my review and ask yourself a few questions. I'm not the only local Google Guide giving them less than stellar reviews, nor only traveler who believes this facility deserves a low rating (which are not easily visible as they have been taken down and Deborah has been rude and attacks the character of the reviewer.) There are plenty of places to go and they care about you and your family's safety. Go elsewhere! PS...look at the dates of the reviews...do you see a lot of recent positive reviews?

Room service will knock incessantly at your door and try to make your room, even if the do not disturb sign is up and you tell them that you don't want room service. They will continue to bang on the door saying, "i hear you in there." Yes, you heard me because I said I don't want room service. Literally screamed it by the fourth time. Eventually they will leave and bang on your door again 30 minutes later. Don't even try to take a nap or do anything that requires privacy.Edit:Owners apologized and talked to the worker. Seems like an honest mistake.

we arrived on a very rainy day an hour early. We called to see if we could wait in the lobby while our room was being prepared, she said they had no lobby and hung up. I called again to see if she had any suggestions on what to do while we wait and said she had none so I asked if she was from around here she said yes and hung up again. We arrived at the reception and no one was there but I needed to use the rest room, she arrived visibly annoyed and said she did not have a restroom, showed me the door and basically shut it in my face. I said you're not even going to give me info on were to go? A Starbucks ? "There is Dunkin Donuts down the road"

Clean & comfortable. Seems kind of compact, but rooms fairly spacious. Location is ok as most all other parking in the area sucks. We walked to a restaurant/ bar up the street.
