Mechanic shops can be intimidating as a young single woman, but my experience at VW Plus was absolutely wonderful. Mrs. Liz was knowledgeable, helpful, and upfront with me throughout the process. Chris is a rockstar mechanic! He diagnosed and fixed the issue within 3 days, and I paid less than the initial quote because of their expertise. Overall, VW Plus is an incredible family owned business serving Acadian and more. I will be back for any and all my VW needs!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE (I normally don t leave reviews) I was traveling from Houston, TX to Alabama for a wedding with my 2year old daughter and my car stopped accelerating on the freeway in that area. I originally wanted to have it towed to VW Southwest to have it looked at but they were completely booked and unable to look at my car and recommended this place, so I had my car towed here. They did the diagnostic and it came back that I needed my turbo chager replaced. They me a price for everything. I had my dad call them so they could explain everything to him along with price (I don t know nothing about cars). I told them to give me a few days to figure out next steps with my car. I live in TX, was starting a new job soon, and this is my only car; so I needed to weigh my options. I called back a few days later and told them I would be moving forward with having my car serviced with them. I was told they had to order parts. Two weeks pass and I call to check on my car and was told my parts were in but there were two cars a head of mine and the job would take a few days. After that my dad and I called every week to check and we were still getting the same there are still two cars ahead of mine . At this point it s been a month and I still have no car. I m still calling once a week for updates but now no one is answering the phone or returning my calls for two/three weeks. Last week I called ( at this point it s going on two months and I still had not received a call back) and was told they couldn t work on the car because my dad didn t put a card on fill and thought he was sending a check. I was then told by the woman who I was in communication with that I would be paying more on getting my car fixed than my car is worth and she was not trying to be funny but they have done services on cars and not been paid in the past (which did offend me being that I am a African American woman but if that s your policy than so be it) I call my dad and explained the conversation and he called stated that he never had that conversation with her (money was never a issue, I told the lady before I decided I was going to get them fix the car that my dad would be taking care of the bill). He calls and informed her per his research my car is worth more than what she was saying and asked how much for parts and if he pays for the parts how long before my car is ready, they didn't know. So at this point I'm over it. It's been two months without a car and I have never taken my car somewhere and had to pay for serves first. I don't think they ever ordered the parts and steriodtyoed us in thinking we was not going to pay them. So I had my car moved to VW Southwest.

Owner is always so helpful when I have an issue with my GTi. Literally has bailed me out multiple times. Also he has a passion for this stuff which is clearly evident from talking with him. Great people. Would highly recommend.

Extremely friendly people who obviously care a lot about VW s. I had a part ordered to them and ask them to do a basic check on my bus. They were accommodating on both accounts. It seems like the over the top stories that have been posted under other reviews are probably not at all true. These are very kind people who care about their customers.

V.W. Plus is amazing. I have been taking my GTI here over the course of about 5 years and they have always done an incredible job. I just recently had a problem with my car and they went above and beyond to help me out to get my car working great and back on the road again. Chris is amazing and the communication and customer service is excellent. I highly recommend them!

My daughter brought her yellow Beetle there twice. First time she s ever had to take a car to a repair shop on her own. Very nice and honest people. They took their time to remedy the problem and did a great job. I am grateful my daughter found them for her VW repairs.

They were very helpful in fixing my car. They took it when the dealership wouldn't. Good service great people. If you have an older VW and you need an honest place to go, go to VW plus they will take care of you. Mrs. Elizabeth helped me with everything and called before they did any work to give me an estimate on cost

They went above and beyond to help my husband when his transmission started acting up in the middle of a long trip, at the end of a work day. She stayed after closing time to diagnose his car and give him an estimate, and then drove him all the way to Abbieville to rent a car, the last one available anywhere near there, rushing to arrive before Enterprise closed at 6 pm, only two days after Christmas. It's rare to find such caring people these days, and even rarer to find any who are willing to go so far out of their way to help. It makes me wish that we lived close enough to do business with them regularly.

We've been doing business with VW Plus for about 15 years. They are brutally honest. Chris definitely knows his VW's backwards & forwards. Will never take ours anywhere else, once out of warranty.(They are way too busy to scam anyone for money, by the way!)

Just passing through on our way to Florida when our Passat's check engine light came on and we decided not to subject ourselves to the atrocities of a dealership. Everyone here was incredibly friendly and helpful with our issue and didn't even charge us for the service they provided. If you value your time and have any sense of self respect avoid the dealer and head to VW plus!

This is the only mechanic shop I trust with my car! I've owned many Volkswagens over the past 20 years and have always had a good experience with this place. I know I'm sure to get an honest diagnosis, a great price, and that the work will be well done with quality parts. I highly recommend!

I dropped off my vanagon to get its engine replaced in June right before going to work in Alaska for the summer so I'd make the money to pay for the van while they worked on it. They told me it wouldn't be ready right away, which was fine since I didn't need it ready until early/mid fall, which would give them 4-5 full months to work on it. I told them I'd need it for the fall, so as long as it was done by October/November. I was in Alaska for two months and never heard anything from them, which was odd because they said they'd call me when they ordered the engine. When I got back from Alaska, I called them and got a very short answer from the woman saying that they ordered the engine but the company who makes the engines hadn't started making it yet since they were so backed up. Two months is a long time though, and I felt like I wasn't being told the whole story, so I got my male friend Colin who co-owns the van with me to call them back a few weeks later and ask again. He interestingly got a completely different story, which was that they never actually ordered the engine, never claimed to have, because they're so backed up they didn't want to order the engine and have it just sit there while they worked on the cars before mine. They blatantly lied to me about ordering the engine and about when they'd have it done I'm guessing to keep my business with them, but now my partner who is taking a trip in November won't have the van running in time to travel and I have to again go pick up the van and tow it back home. I feel an element of this was not taking me seriously because I'm female, even though I've owned my van for years and know a lot about it and what needs to be done to it, and then keeping me on a line, thinking they were waiting for the company to build the engine when they in fact hadn't even ordered it. After a quick call with a VW mechanic in Metairie, a shop of similar size run by one man, he said he could have it done in a bit over two months almost guaranteed, which is a massive difference from waiting 4 months with no progress. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with this company because they came highly reviewed but my experience shows me they clearly care more about money than telling their customers the truth so that I might go elsewhere to get the service I need. Be wary of this place.

Upon my initial move to Louisiana I encountered an issue with a leaking fuel tank. At that time this was also my only vehicle so I was in need of getting this repaired immediately. I attempted to have this repaired by every mechanic shop in New Iberia where I had moved to along with several in Lafayette. Just to be turned away by all shops. Just as I begun to regret my move to Louisiana I was Blessed and found VW Plus. Chris and Mrs. Elizabeth welcomed my car with open arms and were able to complete all repairs in a very timely manner at a very competitive and fair rate. Ever since this day the VW Plus Family has become my go to for all maintenance, upkeep and repairs for all my vehicles. I find it very easy to drive right past the VW dealership and head straight to VW Plus for their excellent customer service, beyond fair rates and service charges along with Chris s incredible amount of knowledge of the VAG family of vehicles. Over the past three years it has been a true Blessing and pleasure working with Chris and Mrs. Elizabeth along with their team. What started off as a business relationship has now turned into my Family and I adopting the VW Plus team as our Family. We will never hesitate to recommend anyone to VW Plus for all services and repairs.

Excellent mechanics and great people. Our vanagon started leaking oil and we were fortunate to make it to VW+. Chris quickly diagnosed the problem as a gear oil leak. We were broke so he got the tools and supplies I needed to keep the transmission oil filled, and patiently helped me get the job done in his parking lot while providing plenty of advice. He was kind and honest and the price was more than fair. We made it safely to Atlanta thanks to VW+.Chris is one of the most knowledgeable and friendliest VW mechanics in the country, and I highly recommend his shop.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! BEWARE OF VW PLUS! A week after our vehicle was worked on here and we were charged 600+ dollars for simple work (like switching ONE fuse), our car began having additional problems that were NOT an issue before. When we went back to talk to these people about the new problems our car was SUDDENLY having, their response was far from professional and downright shocking! The lady at the front desk began to curse and scream in front of our small children and then the mechanic/owner that REFUSED to talk to us about our vehicle suddenly comes from the back shop to yell horrific obscenities to us in front of our kids (our kids can be heard on video saying "I'm scared!", they frightened our CHILDREN). The shop owner got up in mine and my husbands face (I'm guessing he was TRYING to intimidate us, it was just weird and very uncomfortable how close he kept getting), he took our vehicle keys and began ripping fuses out from under our car hood. I started to video how they were treating us and the desk lady snatched my phone out of my hands, refusing to give it back, then throwing it!! She then grabbed my arm leaving marks (I STILL HAVE THE VIDEO AND PHOTOS AS PROOF)!! The police had to be called because of how out of control the situation was! I mean seriously what kind of establishment calls the police all because a hard working and PAYING family wants to know why their vehicle is having more issues after spending over half a grand to get it fixed!? I guess they treated us like this because we figured out we had been seriously ripped off and they hated being caught and called out for it!! I'm going to post about this on every site letting people know our experience in hopes that it doesn't happen to anyone else. NO FAMILY OR PERSON should be cussed at, grabbed or there personal items snatched from them! We PAID them to fix our car and still got treated so horribly!! How low can someone be to treat people this way that put 600+ dollars in their pockets?!? I will continue to warn others of this place in hopes that they don't get away with treating another family like this!! DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!!!

On three separate occasions I called to setup an appointment to have them work on my car. In all three instances they failed to call me back to confirm the appointment. Since I have to drive >160 miles to get there the appointment confirmation was required. Now I can see why the fellow Vee Dub enthusiast around here say just go to one of the specialist shops in Houston or Dallas and stay away from here. Sadly disappointed.

Great service and very knowledgeable. I normally work on my own car but I wasn t sure about this issue. Didn t take them long to narrow it down to the PCV and get my GTI rocking and rolling again. Definitely will be coming back when I can t figure it out because I know they will.

Chris and Mrs. Elisabeth are the best. I now call him the Volkswagon Whisperer and hopes that all works out wonderfully for them both in their future plans. Real people, kind, honest and total badass experts on all things VW. One of the best auto breakdown events I've ever had, if there is a such thing!

You will be floored at the level of service you receive. So much so, that you might just forget the massive failure that is the vw dealership. They have a lot of cats in the office, so if you are allergic you might want to talk in the covered intake area. These people are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care available in the Lafayette area for your vw. They work late and use their network of contacts in the area to get the best deals on parts and services. They are well established and well known in the community as THE place to bring your vw. The business is a little hard to find, it's generally easy to get to after the first time. If you have a vw, and are tired of the abuses of the dealership, do yourself a favor and call the professionals at vw+.

While on a cross-country trip, I was camped out in my pimped out counter-clockwise spinning turbo van when they arrived & they had me diagnosed as in -need of a throttle body adaption, fixed, & out the door 2 minutes after the mechanic arrived no charge. What more is there to say? Thanks guys, appreciate it!

I was driving my 1980 vanagon across the US and started having issues in Louisiana. I found V.W. Plus, and Chris was able to help me trouble shoot and diagnose the problem. It was a rather big repair, but the staff at V.W. Plus were incredibly helpful and understanding, helping me get back on the road.

VW Plus is the only place I trust to work on my car.It's the "go to" mechanic shop in Lafayette for VOLKSWAGENS! They are very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I will continue to drive VOLKSWAGENS because of these people.
